As the Seal connected with Axton, a brilliant flash of light erupted from the point of impact, illuminating the factory’s dim interior. The shadows that surrounded the warlord recoiled as if struck by a physical force, their dark forms writhing in confusion. Dexter felt the rush of energy flow through him, invigorating his every move. He pressed forward, unwilling to give Axton a moment to recover.

“You think your light can defeat me?” Axton sneered, recovering quickly. He raised both hands, and the shadows coalesced into sharp tendrils that lashed out toward Dexter like whips. Dexter narrowly dodged to the side, feeling the rush of air as one of the tendrils passed close enough to graze his arm, leaving a chilling sensation in its wake.

“Raven! Watch out!” Dexter shouted, spotting a shadow creeping up behind her. She spun around just in time, slicing through the shadow with her dagger
