Within Longmin’s courtyard, Longwei could be seen standing in front of a tree in the training grounds.
His right hand was on the hilt of his sword while his left hand was holding its blue scabbard.
With closed eyes, he stood there calmly, his posture straight as an arrow.
A sudden gust of wind blew past causing his clothes and hair to flutter in the wind.
It also caused a dozen leaves on the tree to become detached from its branches and start floating down towards him.
Tightening his hand around the hilt of the sword, Longwei started emitting a sharp and fierce that soared to the sky.
Looking at him, he resemble a heavenly sword that was about to tear open the firmament.
An intangible force started to spread from his body to cover three feet in his surroundings.
Within that space, he became a ruler that could decide life or death.
The twelve leaves were all within that three feet space.
With a quiet swish, Longwei drew his sword from its scabbard causing a silver streak of light to dance in the air before disappearing less than a second later.
If someone was watching Longwei from distance, they would’ve missed his movements entirely. He had executed his sword skills with inhuman speed and returned to his original position of holding the hilt of his sword. To someone watching from a distance, he looked as if he hadn’t moved at all.
The twelve leaves that were falling from the tree had finally reached the ground, but as soon as they touched it a vertical line running through its center appeared, splitting them in two.
The two halves suddenly split again, resulting in the leaves separating into four symmetrical pieces.
However, that wasn’t the end.
The pieces became sixteen, then increased to thirty-two, then to sixty-four, all the way to numbers in the thousands.
After that, they scattered in the wind leaving no trace of their existence.
The sharp aura Longwei was releasing slowly faded away as he opened his eyes
Looking at the pieces of leaves drifting away, Longwei’s eyes were full of frustration.
“Dammit!”
Longwei shouted angrily.
His face then became bright red, followed by him stomping on the ground all while he let out more curses.
If someone looked at him now they would’ve assumed he was a brat throwing a tantrum because he didn’t get what he wanted.
Well, that wouldn’t be far from the truth.
Longwei was trying to comprehend Sword Intent, but despite his flashy display, he was unsuccessful.
Even though his achievement in the way of the sword could be considered deep and profound for someone his age and cultivation level, Sword Intent was an abstruse concept in nature.
Swordmasters that have said to reach the pinnacle of the Sword Dao were unable to step across that threshold to comprehend it, much less a young Longwei.
Longmin who was meditating some distance away looked over at his brother and shook his head. He then suddenly raised his hand and pointed a finger in his direction.
A red rune appeared on the tree three meters away, causing the sword Longwei was angrily slashing at it to rebound off.
The force of the rebound sent Longwei flying backward to land on the ground.
He slid for a couple of feet and came to stop in front of Longmin.
Looking at his brother, Longmin said.
“What did my tree ever do to you for you to want to cut it down?”
Longwei grunted as he sat up.
After dusting off his clothes, he turned to Longmin and spoke in a deadpan tone.
“That tree was obviously mocking me so of course I would teach it a lesson!”
Hearing that, Longwei didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. His brother really had a thick face to be able to speak so unashamedly.
"If you're going to ruin my courtyard every time you're unsuccessful in your training, then go back to the Battle Pavilion mountain to practice in your courtyard and destroy it."
Longwei scrunched up his nose in displeasure but he didn’t say anything.
Longmin then closed his eyes and went back to meditating.
However, Longwei stared at his brother meditating for a while before he suddenly had a thought that made his eyes light up.
“Say, little bro, why don’t you tell me what I’m missing to successfully comprehend Sword Intent?”
Longmin didn’t open his eyes but his brows creased as he asked befuddled.
“How the heck am I supposed to do that?”
Longwei smiled and said coolly.
“Don’t you have those eyes of yours? It’s able to find the weakness of a person’s technique, that’s why you were able to stop my palm so effortlessly. Can’t you somehow use that aspect to find out what I’m missing to comprehend it?”
Longmin finally opened his eyes making his blue and gold pupils visible. He then put on a thoughtful look on his face while one of his hands went under his chin.
After some time he shook his head and said.
“That’s not possible for me. To find the weakness in a person’s technique is simpler than helping you comprehend Sword Intent. And most important of all I’m a Qi and body cultivator, not a sword cultivator like you.”
Longwei’s expression became downcast and his body deflated like a balloon onto the ground.
With a depressed tone, he began ranting.
"Why can't I comprehend Sword Intent? Father said that back at the training grounds I had unintentionally drawn the Spiritual Qi in the surroundings to me and that it was caused by a Sword Intent seed within my dantian that haven't yet bloomed. That was four months ago, and now I've already condensed my fourth Qi Pillar and stepped into the mid-stage of the Foundation realm, so why can't I make that Sword Intent seed bloom? In the Seven Continents Tournament that demoness Yuyan showed that she had comprehended blade intent, while she was also in the mid-stage of the Foundation realm."
Longmin looked at his brother’s bemoaning expression and sigh in his heart.
‘He’s just too impatient, if it were that easy to comprehend Sword Intent and blade intent then every sword and blade genius would’ve done it.’
If someone of the younger generation similar to Longmin's and Longwei's age were here and overheard their conversation, he or she would've looked between the two brothers with utter confusion written all over their faces. But if someone of the older generation was here they would've looked at the two brothers with horror.
One should remember that these twin brothers were only fourteen years of age. On the Daiyu planet, kids their age should be in the Qi Gathering realm, focusing on gathering the Qi of heaven and earth into their dantian.
But the concepts that were being thrown around so casually by them indicated that their intelligence and insights into cultivation techniques, and cultivation in general, were extraordinary for someone their age.
One reason might be because of their fortune to be born into a big clan such as theirs, but one cannot discard the fact that their natural talent was extremely high.
Longmin thought for a moment then said.
“Maybe the thing your missing is the right mindset.”
“What do you mean?”
Longwei asked, slightly puzzled.
Longmin stood from his sitting position and went to stand in Longwei’s previous position under the tree.
Turning towards his brother, Longmin began speaking.
"The cultivation method that father chose for you when you entered the Foundation realm was one the top three sword scriptures in our clan, the Heavenly Sword Scripture. I've read it before and have a basic understanding of its core focus, which is to transform all of the Spiritual Qi you've gathered in the nine Qi Pillars of the Foundation realm into pure Sword Qi. It also has a complementary technique, similar to my Emperor Tactics Manual’s Soaring Cloud Steps and Emperor's Fists, yours is the Everlasting Sword Art. Gaining comprehension of this sword art can lead to insights into Sword Intent, however, although it can give you insights it doesn't state how you can comprehend it. You being able to form a Sword Intent seed from those insights is already amazing."
Longwei waved his hand dismissively and said.
“I know all of that already, tell me something I don’t know.”
Hearing his brother’s shameless comment, Longmin frowned and glared at him before continuing to his main point.
Longmin frowned upon hearing his brother's shameless comment. After glaring at him, he went on to his main point.“When you executed the sword movement a moment ago, how did you view the sword in your hand?”Longwei was already in a sitting position and when he heard his brother’s question, he only shrugged his shoulder and said.“I just see it as a sword I’m going to use to cut the leaves.”“And that’s where your mindset is off. I’ve read some old texts in the clan that spoke about becoming one with your weapon and viewing it not as a weapon, but as a part of you. I think that if you're able to view your sword not just as a sword but as an extension of yourself, then you’ll be able to step across that final watershed and allow the sword intent seed within your dantian to bloom into real sword intent.”Longwei pondered on those words for a while, before jumping up from his sitting position and going up to the tree.Longmin made way for his brother. When Longwei was back to his origina
Leaving the Wu Clan, Longmin and Longwei walked around the bustling city of Lou Fu.The both of them had changed their appearance due to the insistence of Longwei, but Longmin had been reluctant as he wasn’t fond of disguising himself as his brother did.Walking along the streets of Lou Fu Longmin eyes glisten with curiosity as he looked left and right at all the different buildings and people. He hadn’t been outside of the clan in six years, and for those six years, all he had been doing was reading the books in the clan’s library, front to back and back to front. Now that he was allowed to leave the clan he wanted to explore every inch of the Wu Continent and see all the places he had read about in those books. One thing he realized was that all the people he walked past were cultivators. Though he wasn’t that surprised as he read somewhere that the City of Lou Fu was where all the top sects and clans reside. They had set up stores that sell all sorts of top-quality resources useful
Longmin and Longwei had reached the Yellow Leaf Valley and were now waiting with the disciples of the major sects and clans for the Lesser Pocket Realm to open. The Yellow Leaf Valley itself was located within the Yellow Leaf Mountain range on the eastern side of the Wu Continent. The name was given to it because of the countless yellow-leafed orchid trees in the area.Whether it was winter, summer, autumn, or spring, they would be filled with resplendent yellow blooming flowers. Another name that was given to this type of orchid tree was the eternally blooming sunflower orchid tree. There was even a legend among cultivators and mortals involving why they were blooming all year round. It was said that in the past there was once a roaming scholar who stumbled upon this mountain range by accident. At that time, the numerous orchid trees only bloomed once after an entire sixty-year circle and the leaves they bloomed were blood red. When the sagely scholar happened upon the mountain range
The Yellow Leaf Valley's Lesser Pocket Realm was the biggest of the three Pocket Realms on the Wu Continent. It was also a special place of cultivation for the younger generation of the various sects and clans.Every fifty years when the Pocket Realm opens, the Core Formation disciples would go through fierce competition within their own organizations to be chosen as one of six candidates to enter the Pocket Realm. This in itself was extremely difficult to accomplish, as one would need to have the strength and talents to outperform thousands of other candidates, and stand out among their peers as one of the strongest in their generation. It wasn't a stretch to say that every disciple who stood here at the Yellow Leaf Valley was a terrifying genius, who had proven themselves by struggling through muddy waters to clinch a spot to enter the Pocket Realm. But out of nowhere, these two greenhorn young masters of the Wu Clan came and snatched away two of the limited spots for themselves, an
"That's Young Master Longwei, right? I know it’s him, who else would have such a vicious mouth despite being a little brat?"One disciple said while clenching his teeth."That's not all, not only does he have a vicious mouth I even heard that he has a weird hobby. It's really malicious. He would go around in his disguise to beat up the notorious debauchees from the major sects and clans."Another disciple chimed in and said as if he remembered all about that."That's right, I heard rumors about how he was constantly changing his appearance that even the members of his clan don't know how he actually looks. If it wasn't for that one time when a debauchee's uncle who was a sect elder had gotten involved and made him show his Wu Clan identity medallion to get away with his beatings, we wouldn't have known he was the notorious Debauchee Executioner."This time the disciples were talking in hush whispers, but Longmin had been able to pick up on some of the words being thrown around. He cou
After Longwei insulted Elder Li, he then ignored the sour look on his face and turned to the six disciples behind him."If someone other than this bag of bones doesn't step out now then the Crescent Moon Sect is banned from ever stepping foot into any of the three Lesser Pocket Realms."Immediate gasps could be heard from the crowd of disciples.Although it might seem that Longwei indeed had no qualifications to make such decisions, his father on the other hand can.Why would the Crescent Moon Sect antagonize the sons of the Wu Clan's Patriarch? If this matter blows out of proportion from a simple argument between the younger generation to Elders getting involved, aren't the Crescent Moon Sect just shooting themselves in the foot?Elder Li's face was red at this moment.Ever since he had become an Elder of the Crescent Moon Sect no one has ever dared to talk to him in such a way. He was a powerful expert in the Nascent realm that could summon the wind and rain with one command and wit
Elder Li recovered and looked over at the two late-stage Core formation bodyguards. He was silent for a moment before he suddenly straighten himself then cupped his fist and said.“Two Young Master of the Wu Clan, I hope you can forgive me for acting in such a manner. I was out of line and I wish that you would look at this from my point of view for the reason I am discontent. To make up for my actions, as an Elder of the Crescent Moon Sect I hereby revoke our rights to enter the Pocket Realm in the future. I hope that this can appease any animosity you may have against us. However, I wish that you would allow us to enter this Pocket Realm before our rights are revoked.”As Elder Li’s words sounded out, everyone in the surroundings was confused. What’s with the sudden shift in attitude? One minute he looked like a lion ready to pounce on his prey, and then the next minute he became as docile as a cat. What was happening? The change happened so abruptly that the image of Elder Li relea
"What terrifying speed!! Even I almost lost track of him when he made his move. Is he really only at the Foundation Realm?!"A mid-stage Core Formation disciple in astonishment."Not only that, he actually managed to stop an attack from an early Core Formation realm cultivator with just a finger. What a monster, it looks like Young Master Longwei with his Legendary Physique isn't the only monster-level genius the Wu Clan has."As Longmin stood there with his finger against Xiang Shi's sword, the red rune on the tip of his finger released a string of energy into it.With astounding speed, it shot towards the hidden aura that was headed for Xiang Shi's dantian. The hidden aura began to struggle while it was being wrapped up by Longmin's string of energy, but its struggle was futile as the string of energy effortlessly overpower it and began to pull it towards Longmin's finger. After the aura entered the rune on his finger, Longmin dropped his hand and slowly turned around to look at Li
