Hearing his son's question, the Patriarch didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Longwei however, just looked at his Father with confusion written all over his face.
He really wanted to know the reason because, on the journey back from the Central Continent, his mind was constantly preoccupied with this thought.
He had read ancient texts about Legendary Physiques in the Wu Clan's library as he had one as well, and it was said that the requirements needed for a planet to produce someone with a Legendary Physique were very stringent.
It was so hard that a planet could go tens of thousands of years without ever having someone born with a Legendary Physique.
However, here on planet Daiyu, the weakest of the four planets in the Wither Daemon Realm. There was not only one person with a Legendary Physique but five!
And that's not including him!
Longwei was right to be confused because a planet that could produce six Legendary Physiques in the same generation is like winning a scratch lottery worth a billion dollars six consecutive times!
This matter was so bazaar that if the planet shriveled up and died Longwei should not be surprised, as one of the requirements needed for someone with a Legendary Physique to be born was them receiving the blessings of the planet. Which in other words means the planet's life essence.
But without a sufficient amount of life essence, a planet's life cycle can come to an end.
This was another thing that confused Longwei, if one of the requirements was the planet giving away its life essence, how could the weak Daiyu planet produce so many Legendary Physiques at the same time and not have any consequences occur?
Lakes and seas drying up, mountains becoming barren. The planet itself slowly deteriorating. But none of that was occurring, it was thriving with vitality.
The Patriarch let out a laugh and then asked.
"Wei'er are you feeling pressured by having to compete against so many geniuses?"
His father didn’t answer the question but instead asked his own.
Longwei not noticing this had a look of contempt covering his face before he said.
"What pressure? Their Legendary Physiques might be in the top 20, but mine is in the top five. How can I feel pressure because of them?"
The Patriarch smiled at his son's remark before saying.
"Out of the 30 Legendary Physiques, having any one of them can make you a genius among genius, especially the top ten. You can look down on them because of your higher-ranked physique but don't underestimate them."
With a serious look on his face, Longwei replied.
"I won't father, even a tiger will use a hundred percent of his strength when hunting a rabbit."
The Patriarch's smile turned wider upon hearing that, after which he let out three exclamations of good showing his satisfaction.
Seeing his father in such a good mood, Longwei opened his mouth to say something but hesitated slightly. Lowering his head, he then clenched his fist and said.
"Father, Longmin was able to get a Heavenly Pallet, so I want one as well."
The Patriarch looked at him and coolly replied.
"The Heavenly Pallet was given to him because it was more useful to him than you. But if you want one so badly, the Lesser Pocket Realm in the Yellow Leaf Valley is going to open in four months' time. When it does, I will send someone to search for one in there for you."
The Patriarch still had a smile on his face as he spoke.
"Can I enter the Pocket Realm?"
The Patriarch thought for a moment before he said.
"You can, this will be a good chance to get some more outside experience. Even though elder Sun won't be there to protect you because of the cultivation restrictions of the Pocket Realm, I'll have a Core Formation expert escort you to make sure you're safe inside."
Longwei was then silent for a while before letting a breath of air.
In a soft and barely audible voice, he asked.
"Can Longmin leave the clan and come with me as well?"
On the Formation Pavilion mountain, Longmin was in his room listening to the conversation. When it reached the point where Longwei asked if he could leave the clan, he held his breath while having a nervous look on his face.
Back in the Ancestral hall, the only thing that could be heard was...
Silence.
Absolute Silence.
The hall was so deathly silent that it was frightening.
Longwei raised his head to look at his father, but the smile on the Patriarch's face was completely gone.
Lowering back his head Longwei spoke again.
"Father, Longmin has been trying really hard, you saw him at the training grounds even when I provoked him he still didn't lose control like you said he would, so can't he finally be allowed to leave the clan?"
The Patriarch remained silent with an expressionless face.
Realizing that his father wasn't going to say anything, slight anger rose in Longwei's heart.
Looking up at his father with a frustrated expression, he said.
"Father, how long is Longmin going to be kept in the clan? Ever since that day, you forbade him from stepping a foot outside, and now it's been six years!"
Longwei's voice was filled with emotion his tone suddenly dipped as continued.
"Father, I'm sorry for this child's insistent behavior, but I don't like the feeling I get when I see my brother's expression every time I have to leave the clan. He always puts on a happy smile like it doesn't bother him, but I know it does, he's just very good at hiding it, he always has been.
"Dad, Longmin's been trying really hard, you saw him at the training grounds, even when I provoked him he still didn't lose control like you said he would. So, can't he be allowed to leave the clan?"
Word for word, Longwei repeated his question pleadingly and even used a closer and more affectionate address for his father he hadn't used ever since he was little.
The Patriarch was still silent, but his expression had softened a little.
After thinking for a while, he sighed and said.
"Fine, he can leave, but! If he ever loses control like last time then he would have to stay in the clan until he reaches the Nascent Soul realm!"
Longwei didn’t know why his father gave such a specific cultivation realm, but Longwei didn't focus on anything after his father said the word fine. He smiled from ear to ear then as he said.
"Thank you, father! I'll go tell him."
After saying that, Longwei left the Ancestral Hall and headed for the teleportation circle on the ANcestral Mountain.
Back in the hall, the Patriarch frowned and asked.
“Why did you want him to leave the clan now after all these years?”
The Grand Elder’s ghostly voice drifted in with a reply.
“Because keeping him in the clan isn’t good for his development. He’s young and needs to experience the world some more.”
The Patriarch didn’t reply, but he felt that the Grand Elder wasn’t saying everything.
After being teleported to the Formation Pavilion mountain, Longwei headed straight towards his Longmin's courtyard.
Upon reaching the entrance, grandpa Li was seen there watering the flower out front.
"Greetings Young Master Wei, Young Master Min is waiting for you in the training grounds around the back."
Even without Longmin's instructions, he knew that Longwei didn't include the people Longmin didn't want to disturb him.
Longwei smiled and said.
"It's good to see you grandpa Li. I hope you've been doing well and that my thoughtless brother isn't working you too hard."
"Hoho, you don't have to worry Young Master, I'm doing fine. The second Young Master has treated me kindly over the years."
"That's good to hear."
After Longwei finished his little chat with grandpa Li, he headed towards the training grounds at the back of the courtyard.
What greeted him there was the image of Longmin sitting in a lotus position with his back facing him. Due to the setting sun, an elongated shadow of him was cast on the concrete tiled ground.
Without pausing, Longwei walk forward and sat down beside his brother.
Neither of them spoke. It was only after a while that Longwei placed his hand on his right shoulder and picked up a strand of lightly colored brown hair.
After placing it between his two fingers, Longwei started rubbing them together, and immediately afterward, the hair transformed into a pin-sized green rune before dissipating.
Longwei then reached into his robes and pulled out a folded paper, and said.
"You left a note on father's chair in the booth saying that you had a plan to get him to agree to you leaving the clan.
"You didn't even tell me what the plan was, you just said to provoke you into a fight and I'll know afterward. But you-"
When Longwei was speaking, he had turned his head to look at his brother, but what he saw made him pause mid-sentence.
On his right, Longmin was using a hand to cover his mouth while his shoulders were trembling nonstop.
When Longwei saw that, his expression turned unsightly before he shouted angrily.
"You're actually laughing! Do you think it's funny getting beaten in public?! If it wasn't for you do you think it would've happened?!"
"I-I'm s-sorry?"
Longmin said between his stifled laughter.
"I calculated that after you heard I got the last Heavenly Pallet, you would have known to ask father if you could go to the Yellow Leaf Valley that’s opening and bring me with you. But..."
Longmin started wheezing from trying to hold back laughter.
"….but I didn't expect you to react like that after hearing I got the last Heavenly Pallet. You practically called granduncle an old fogie to his face. Serves you right for going so overboard with your attacks. Hahaha!"
Longmin couldn't stifle his laughter anymore and immediately burst out laughing.
The expression on Longwei's face became even uglier as Longmin's ear-piercing laughter echoed in his ears. The paper he was holding turned to dust from how hard he was clenching his fist.
With a loud shout, he tackled Longmin causing the both of them to fall onto the ground.
Even then Longmin's laughter still echoed within the courtyard, but he didn't stop trying to kick Longwei off him.
While the two brothers were having a “heartwarming” moment choking each other on the ground and causing their shadows in the setting sun to look entangled.
The atmosphere on the Demonic Beast Continent was a complete contrast.
The sun had already set, giving the continent a gloomy and dreadful feeling as if to match with the bloodshed and carnage that was happening under the cover of night.
The cultivation system for demonic beasts is different from the cultivation system of humans. Their levels of cultivation range from Rank 1 to Rank 5, with rank 6 beasts being called Greater Demonic Beasts. Each level corresponds to the human cultivation system. So, a rank 1 demonic beast is as powerful as a Qi Gathering stage cultivator. But even though their cultivation system is somewhat different from humans, it still follows the same principles as there are low-tier, mid-tier, high-tier, and peak-tier levels among ranked demonic beasts. The same as someone who is in the 3rd level, 6th level, and 9th level of the Qi Gathering stage is called an early-stage, mid-stage, and late-stage Qi Gathering cultivator. And when a 9th-stage cultivator is ready to break through to the next level, he was called a peak stage Qi Gathering cultivator. On planet Daiyu or the Demonic Beast Continent specifically, the highest-ranked demonic beast is the two Beast Kings of the Fire Phoenix and Ice P
The Central Continent was the biggest continent on planet Daiyu. It was also known as the Xingyun Dynasty governed by the Xingyun Imperial Family, one of the two imperial families on the planet besides the Tang Dynasty on the Tang Continent.Out of all the other continents, it was considered the most powerful and prosperous. From the Emperor and his Ministers down to the commoners in its 8 states, everyone was happily living their lives. This situation where peace reigns throughout the empire were due to the Emperor's strict laws on corruption and violence. He was a man of benevolence who believe that the empire should place the protection of its citizens above all else because without them, there would be no empire to speak of.To demonstrate this fact, he made a clear contrast between the cultivation world and the mortal world. The large sects and clans had gotten a warning that if their conflicts or struggle over cultivation resources ever get the common people involved, then they
"Senior brother Bao, my father is a general under your father his majesty's command. We've known each other since we were little, do I need a reason to visit you?"Li Fang's response caused the Bao to be taken aback for a moment."Well that's true, we could be considered close, but…"Bao eyed Li Fang for a brief second before he continued."…I heard that general Ying's daughter is visiting the palace today. Did junior brother Fang perhaps want to meet with her?"Li Fang was now standing in front of the Bao and looking at the height of the two young men, one could tell that the Bao was half a head taller than Li Fang. After hearing Bao’s question, Li Fang cocked his head over his shoulder and asked."Senior brother, what kind of pills are you concocting? Do you mind if I see one?"Realizing Li Fang was changing the subject, Bao blocked the view of his alchemy lab's entrance and said."Junior brother Fang, I'm not concocting any pills at the moment, it's just a little experiment. Now, d
On the Holy Continent was the famous Chan School.Although they weren't considered the top power on the continent, given the fact that they're the oldest institute on the planet with thousands of years of history, even if the major sects and clans had a hundred guts they wouldn't dare think of going against them. They were able to survive as long as they have while watching hegemon sects and clans, rise and fall. This led people to believe that under their seclusive nature there must be a terrifying force, one that has been building up for thousands of years. It was even rumored that long ago the continent was named by them.It was in the Hundred Mountain Range where the Chan School disciples secluded themselves to focus on their Buddhist doctrines within their three divisions, namely, the Sila Division, Dharma Division, and the Dhyana division. The Sila division disciples mainly focus on learning virtue and self-discipline, while the Dharma division disciples focus on learning and un
Ruthless, savage, barbaric, cold-blooded, and backbiting. The Blood Continent can be described as such and much, much more. The Blood Sect was the strongest power on the Blood Continent and they were the most infamous heretic sect on planet Daiyu. To show how harsh the conditions in the sect were; they would purposely limit the cultivation resources for their disciples and encourage fighting amongst each other. The sect's motto was, "Only the strong will survive, trust no one but yourself, if you want something, kill for it."From that alone, one could see that they follow the rule of the jungle, where only the strong will survive and the weak would be killed.Even though the sect had rules for killing between disciples, as long as there was no evidence incriminating the killer or the person killed wasn't a top genius, then the sect would most likely ignore it.Throughout the entire Blood Sect, disciples could be seen fidgeting while their eyes shifted about as if someone was going to
Within Longmin’s courtyard, Longwei could be seen standing in front of a tree in the training grounds. His right hand was on the hilt of his sword while his left hand was holding its blue scabbard. With closed eyes, he stood there calmly, his posture straight as an arrow.A sudden gust of wind blew past causing his clothes and hair to flutter in the wind.It also caused a dozen leaves on the tree to become detached from its branches and start floating down towards him.Tightening his hand around the hilt of the sword, Longwei started emitting a sharp and fierce that soared to the sky.Looking at him, he resemble a heavenly sword that was about to tear open the firmament. An intangible force started to spread from his body to cover three feet in his surroundings.Within that space, he became a ruler that could decide life or death. The twelve leaves were all within that three feet space. With a quiet swish, Longwei drew his sword from its scabbard causing a silver streak of light to da
Longmin frowned upon hearing his brother's shameless comment. After glaring at him, he went on to his main point.“When you executed the sword movement a moment ago, how did you view the sword in your hand?”Longwei was already in a sitting position and when he heard his brother’s question, he only shrugged his shoulder and said.“I just see it as a sword I’m going to use to cut the leaves.”“And that’s where your mindset is off. I’ve read some old texts in the clan that spoke about becoming one with your weapon and viewing it not as a weapon, but as a part of you. I think that if you're able to view your sword not just as a sword but as an extension of yourself, then you’ll be able to step across that final watershed and allow the sword intent seed within your dantian to bloom into real sword intent.”Longwei pondered on those words for a while, before jumping up from his sitting position and going up to the tree.Longmin made way for his brother. When Longwei was back to his origina
Leaving the Wu Clan, Longmin and Longwei walked around the bustling city of Lou Fu.The both of them had changed their appearance due to the insistence of Longwei, but Longmin had been reluctant as he wasn’t fond of disguising himself as his brother did.Walking along the streets of Lou Fu Longmin eyes glisten with curiosity as he looked left and right at all the different buildings and people. He hadn’t been outside of the clan in six years, and for those six years, all he had been doing was reading the books in the clan’s library, front to back and back to front. Now that he was allowed to leave the clan he wanted to explore every inch of the Wu Continent and see all the places he had read about in those books. One thing he realized was that all the people he walked past were cultivators. Though he wasn’t that surprised as he read somewhere that the City of Lou Fu was where all the top sects and clans reside. They had set up stores that sell all sorts of top-quality resources useful
