Chapter 7:

Meanwhile, Michael's younger sister, Emily, decided to pay him a surprise visit at his workplace. She walked into the office, looking around for her brother. Finally, she spotted a familiar face behind the reception desk.

"Excuse me," Emily approached the receptionist. "Is Michael here? I'd like to see him."

The receptionist, Megan, hesitated for a moment before forcing a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry, but I have some unfortunate news. Michael is no longer with the company. He was actually let go a few hours ago for theft."

Emily's heart sunk, shock and concern evident on her face. "What? I had no idea. Are you sure? Is there any way I can reach him?"

Megan nodded compassionately. "I'm afraid so , he stole confidential documents and the gold bond of the son of the CEO of the company. I'm really sorry to be the one to tell you. I'm not sure about his exact whereabouts, but you could try reaching him on his cell phone."

Feeling a mix of disappointment and worry, Emily thanked the receptionist and quickly left the office. As she walked away, she couldn't help but wonder what had happened and how her brother was coping.

Emily pulled out her phone, her fingers trembling slightly, and swiftly dialed her brother's number. With each ring, her anxiety skyrocketed. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a familiar voice answered.

"Hey, Em," Michael's voice greeted her, though it sounded subdued. "What's up?"

Emily took a deep breath, her voice shaky as she replied, "Michael, I just found out what happened at work. Why didn't you tell me? Are you okay?"

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Michael let out a heavy sigh. Emily could almost imagine him running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I didn't want to worry you, Em. I thought I could handle it on my own. But yeah, losing the job... it's been tough."

Emily's heart ached for her brother. "Michael, you know we're always here for you, right? Whatever you're going through, we're in this together."

" Em, don't worry, I'll figure things out. Don't worry!" He reassured her confident .

"No, Michael," Emily said firmly. "We're going to figure things out together. We'll find a way through this, I promise."

Emily's eyes welled up with tears as she imagined the struggles her brother, Michael, must be facing. They had always been close, and knowing that he was going through a difficult time weighed heavily on her heart.

Suddenly, the phone connection started to falter. Static filled the air, making it difficult for them to hear each other's words clearly. Emily instinctively brought the phone closer to her ear, hoping to catch every sound, every syllable.

Frustration crept into Michael's voice as he tried to make himself heard. "Em, can you hear me? Where are you right now?" he asked, his voice strained.

"I'm in front of the company," Emily replied, her voice barely audible amidst the crackling of the network. "But the call is starting to get disturbed. We can't hear each other properly."

Realizing the urgency of the situation, Michael's voice became more urgent. "Please wait for me, Em. I'll come to you as quickly as I can. Just hold on."

Before Emily could respond, the call was abruptly interrupted, leaving her with only a dial tone. Panic surged through Michael as he frantically called out, "Hello? Hello?" But there was no response, only silence.

With a surge of determination, Michael rushed to his workplace.

Deep down, Emily wanted to help Michael, her brother, to get his job back. So, she gathered her courage and decided to go back to the company. Once outside, she walked determinedly through the entrance, passing by the receptionist who looked up and asked, "Can I help you with anything?"

Emily didn't answer. Instead, she quickened her pace, her mind set on finding the boss's son to plead Michael's case. The receptionist called after her, "Sorry, miss, I can't let you go any further without knowing your purpose."

Ignoring the warning, Emily continued running through the corridors, desperately searching for the office where the boss's son worked. Suddenly, she felt a strong hand gripping her arm, causing her to stumble and fall into the path of two sturdy and plump men.

Startled and fearful, Emily quickly scrambled back, afraid of what these men might do. They approached her with mischievous and perverse looks on their faces, their voices full of ill intent.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" one of them sneered. The other smirked and added, "Seems like a lost little girl. What are you looking for?"

Emily took a deep breath, trying to gather her courage. "I'm here to speak with the boss's son. It's about my brother's job..."

The two men exchanged a sly glance, their expressions growing even more wicked. "Oh, really? And why should we believe you?" the second man challenged.

With determination in her voice, Emily replied, "Because it's the truth. My brother got unfairly dismissed, and I'm here to make things right."

The two men glanced at each other, intrigue evident in their arched eyebrows. With a slight smile, one of them replied, "do you have an appointment?"

Emily took a deep breath, ready to face their skepticism. " N-No, I don't have an appointment, but it's important that I meet with the CEO's son as soon as possible."

The men exchanged another glance, their curiosity piqued by Emily's assertiveness. One of them leaned in, lowering his voice. "You do realize that most of the time, the boss brings women into his office, right? Are you sure you're not here to become his mistress?"

Emily's eyes narrowed, determination turning into indignation. "Absolutely not! This has nothing to do with that. I simply want to see Ryan to convince him to bring my brother, Michael, back into the company."

The men nodded, their facial expressions softening. "Perhaps we should give boss a call and inform him about your situation. It could increase your chances of meeting with him."

Emily released a grateful sigh, her faith in her mission renewed. "That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you."

One of the men swiftly picked up the phone and dialed Ryan's extension. When he picked up he pulled away from Emily a bit.

Emily stood by anxiously, unsure of what was happening. Ryan was in his office when the call came through . He was annoyed, but picked up anyway.

"What the hell do you want from me? I already asked you not to disturb me when I'm in my office, didn't I?" Ryan shouted angrily .

"Boss, it's urgent, it's something you might be interested in!" The guard said trying to calm an angry Ryan.

" Alright! Speak I'm listening, and I hope it's really worth it if not you will be fired." He warned him

The guard explained the whole situation to the boss, detailing how a young woman wanted to meet him because her brother, Michael, had been unfairly fired. The guard held the phone away from his ear as Ryan's voice boomed through the receiver.

"What? Michael's sister wants to meet me?" Ryan asked, a sly grin forming on his face.

"Yes, boss," the guard replied. "She's standing right here, she's quite attractive."

Ryan's eyes lit up mischievously, and he leaned back in his chair. "Is she pretty?" he inquired, a devious tone lacing his words.

The guard shot a longing glance at Emily before licking his lips and responding, "She's just the way you like them, boss. Maybe even better."

" Excellent !" Ryan's laughter echoed through the corridor, a sound that made Emily's skin crawl. His amusement seemed twisted, almost sadistic. He concocted an evil idea, a plan to get back at his worst enemy, Michael. A sinister smile crept across his face.

"Well, well , well, tremendous ! John make sure she is ushered into my office quickly," Ryan instructed, still grinning. He hung up the phone, enjoying the satisfaction of his plan. Rubbing his fingers together, he muttered to himself, "What a nice twist! I can finally avenge myself on this imbecile of Michael and in the most beautiful way."
