Captain Aster’s crew was just one of the many crews of the Woodmen army out in the Ancient Forest scouting Rotmen movement and attacking their outposts. Captain Aster’s destination with his crew was a Rotmen military outpost. It was safe to say that the Rotmen already colonized the full Ancient Forest. The only areas that they dared not venture into were the locations that were under the influence of the roots of the mighty World Tree. When Elliot first heard the term Rotmen military outpost, his brain already cooked up a lot of outlandish scenarios but nothing he thought up prepared him for what he saw after finally seeing a real Rotmen military outpost. Most of the military outpost consisted of a series of interconnected tunnels underground, only a giant mound of rot stayed at the surface. There were at least a hundred Rotmen in this outpost. Rotmen military outposts across the Ancient Forest of Gilmer were many. But they were ranked according to the level of their rot cores. Military outposts closer to the core of the Rotmen Civilization, the Rot Dungeon had rot cores with far more potent energies than new outposts that were created as the Rotmen army expanded with victories against the Woodmen. And most times, these old military outposts were manned with the strongest Rotmen who were veterans of many wars against the Woodmen. The outposts at the periphery mostly don’t have Rotmen Generals guarding them and if they had one, they were the weakest or newest Generals out there. The Rotmen General that Captain Aster’s crew killed was a mid-one in the grand scheme of things, not too exceptional but better than a lot of Generals having racked a lot of battle achievements.
