"Roger captain, switching from slow flight to deep dive!", yelled Max, the co-pilot. The captain held hard to his yoke, and pulled to the right position to maneuver away from the pressure of the vortex, which kept pulling at the plane with so much force.
"Max!! Put a dispatch call through to the Airport control center, now!!", he said as he made the pull to the right position. "Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! This is lane Airline, en-route to Mera city!! We are facing an unbelievable situation; an abnormal sight of what looks like a vortex suddenly out of the open, and it's huge!! It's somehow sucking us in, causing intense turbulence on the plane. We have initiated a deep dive and are requesting assistance for safer directions. We have lost all navigation systems and are flying blind. Our altitude is about a few thousand feet, and we are trying to engage away at full speed to see if we can beat whatever this thing is from sucking us in. There are fifty passengers accounted for, all seated and buckled up. Please, we request swift directions. Over and out!", said Max, and kept a focused mind on pulling his yoke in the same direction as the Captain. "No response sir! It would seem communications have been disrupted due to that beast raging at us", yelled out Max. "Yes!! It's obvious!! We are on our own now!! We need to take matters into our own hands! With my experience, I believe I can try to get us out of this situation!! But I can't promise we will go unscathed!! Put me through to the passengers, now!!", yelled the captain. "Roger captain!!", replied Max. In a few seconds, communication was linked to the passengers. "Sir!! Communication links are not stable and are shutting down in about a minute!! The system is cooking up. You just have barely a minute with the passengers, and we will be going silent!!" "Alright!! That's more than enough for me!! Ladies and gentlemen!! This is your captain speaking!! To every passenger on board, listen up!! All passengers should please, securely, fasten up their seat-belts!! We are about to fight through something unexplainable and, to be honest, am not sure if we are going to make it!! In a minute now, all communications will go out, and we will go silent!! I am going to do my very best to fly away from whatever that thing is, baring its fangs right in front of us!! I would need you all to hold on tight!! For no reason, do not lose your seat-belts. I will do all I can to make sure we make it out of this, alive!! God help us all. Now that will be all!!", said the captain. A few second later, all communications within the plane were lost. "I am scared!! I don't want to die!", cried out a female passenger. "Me too!! I don't want to die! I have a wife and three kids! Please, God!", cried out a male passenger. Bane Cross was quiet and held on tight to his seat, as did his son Delvin, who fought through his fears and acted bravely. "Dad!! Look at that! It keeps increasing its size!! With this it's definitely going to pull us in!!", said Delvin, who kept looking outside his window at the strange vortex. Bane could feel the pressure on the plane as they got dragged in. The captain tried to maneuver away from it but couldn't. The plane had navigated out of balance and, without hesitating, he yelled out loudly, "Everyone!! Embrace for impact!! Embrace for impact!! Now!!!", his voice echoed through the plane. The jolt from his voice made every single passenger embrace tightly for impact. In about three minutes, there was great turbulence on the plane, as the passengers were all wailing and screaming for help. When suddenly there was a huge explosion on one of the plane's thrusters. The flaps were destroyed and were engulfed in flames. The plane completely lost its balance and was dragged into the vortex, crashing into what seemed like a void. It was bright as day when a survivor of the crash woke up to have found himself washed on the shore of an unknown island. He had cuts on the side of his forehead, on his thighs and a bruised back. This passenger was none other than the soldier, Bane Cross. He had survived the crash and stood up frail and dehydrated under the scorching heat of the sun. He struggled to move in search of any survivors, most importantly, his son. "Delvin! Delvin! Where are you?! Is anyone alive?! Delvin!", he screamed out as he dragged his feet in search of survivors within the area. He could sight a little wreckage of the plane, and so he hurried to check the area out. Upon making close contact with the wreckage, he could hear a voice from a distance. "Dad!! Dad!! I am over here!". He turned to where he believed he heard the voice and saw it was his son calling out to him, alongside a passenger. Both headed in his direction. "Delvin?! Delvin?! Is that you?! ", he mustered every bit of energy and rushed towards his boy with joy in his eyes. They both made contact and hugged affectionately for about a minute, both glad to have survived the crash. "I thought I lost you my boy, I thought I had you in my arms when we crashed into the sea. I am so glad you made it out alive", he said with so much joy. "Dad, I am glad you're okay. We both tried doing a swim out of the water where we crashed, but a part of the plane fell on you, and you lost consciousness. I tried to swim out with you, but I couldn't. You were heavy and the waves of the water were strong. Dad, I got really scared and was losing my breath when this man here saved me and swam me out to shore. Bane stood up straight, looked at the man and said, "I appreciate your help, Brother. My name is Bane Cross", he said and stretched out his right hand for a handshake. "My name is Adam Willers. I am a soldier as well. It's nice to see a brother in arms. Your son is a brave boy. I must commend Sir, you did a good job drilling him on a few basics", said Adam, smiling as they both exchanged handshakes. "I appreciate the compliment, comrade. I guess he must have filled you in about his little experiences. I know how my son gets when he sees a fellow soldier, he becomes very chatty", he laughed. Adam nodded and laughed too. The three of them sat down on the beach and looked at the sea. "I am glad we survived. Do you know if there are any more survivors?", asked Bane. "I can't say for sure, but we all crashed into some space dimension through that vortex or whatever that was, and into the sea. We then got washed offshore. My guess, is that there might be other passengers washed on shore in a distant spot from here. This unknown island and its entire scenery looks big, and I am sure it might take a little time to gather any survivors. We would all need to stay together for the rescue team to come get us. I am sure the captain must have sent an S.O.S to the rescue team. That's our only way out of this island", said Adam, as he checked his watch. When suddenly the sky seemed to be closing up. They watched in shock and confusion and realized at that moment that they were stuck on the island. Bane tore out a piece of his cloth and tied it to his thighs to keep his wounds from getting infected or worse. "That goes away our chances of being rescued, Adam. Let's just go find other survivors and probably find myself a first aid kit among the valuables that landed close to the shore over there. I need to get my wounds treated or risk getting infected. Right now I need to be in a hundred percent shape to go in search of the passengers. I am very sure we will have numerous survivors", said Bane. Delvin followed his father's reaction and tried to remain calm regardless of what they had just witnessed. He remembered he had picked up a bag with a few supplies in it and a first aid kit. "Dad, you need not worry, I have a first aid kit right here", said Delvin, while taking out the kit from the bag. "Good... very good my boy, said Bane, with so much relief. Delvin smiled and handed him the first aid kit. "I saw it and thought it was going to come in handy", said Delvin. "Nice thinking on your feet, son. It's now going to be of great help to your Dad", said Adam. "Let me have the first aid kit, brother. I am very good at administering first aid", said Adam, and knelt close to his thighs, properly applying the first aid treatment to his wounds and bruises. "You seem to be good at this, Adam. Where did you serve?", asked Bane. "I did two tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. But before that, I was in the medical unit. That's why I am good at this", Adam replied. "Impressive. Well, I did three tours in Iraq, three in Afghanistan and one in Pakistan", said Bane, feeling excited about meeting a brother in arms. After the treatment, they got up and went in search of survivors. On the far east side of the island, Scott, one of the passengers, along with a few survivors of the crash were washed ashore. "Scott, Scott, wake up. Are you okay?", Lance asked as Scott opened his eyes. Feeling choked, he immediately coughed out water from his mouth, trying to catch his breath. His vision was blurry, and so he couldn't make out what or who he saw. All he could hear was the voice of his friend. He rolled over the sands of the beach and looked up to get a proper look at who was in front of him. His vision became clearer by the second, and then he recognized it was his friend, Lance. "Lance, you're too loud. Aaahhh, my head! It hurts!", he cried out in pain. A few of the passengers were lucky to have crashed unscathed, and so they helped the others who were injured. Their numbers began to increase as more bodies were seen being washed ashore. One of the bodies was the retired officer. Lance recognized the officer immediately and rushed to help grab his body. He bent over and tried listening to his heart beat, to know if he was still alive. "He's alive!", screamed Lance as he pressed both his hands down repeatedly on the man's chest. In a few seconds, the officer could breathe and coughed out water from his mouth. "Your alive man!! You are alive!", said Lance loudly, feeling excited about it. A lot more people were found, and they all had minor injuries. With their numbers, they noticed a few of them, not more than ten, were missing, alongside the captain and his crew. Night had come and everyone was seated on the sandy beach, all cold and wet, covered in whatever dry clothes they could find from luggages and bags that washed off on shore. There they sat, feeding on the little rations they could find from the bags and luggages. The moon was full and at the sight of it, many considered themselves lucky to have survived the crash and some, the shock left them speechless and traumatized. "We are doomed! No one will find us here! Didn't you all see we got dragged into some space dimension?? We can't make any calls! All phones are dead and some are lost at the crash site. How do we call home to let them know we are alive?! Is it even possible?? We....we are doomed! The pilot isn't even with us. Who knows if he survived the crash as well?!", a passenger yelled out loudly. His name was Jeremy. The passengers all looked at him scared and worried at the possibility of no one coming to rescue them. A few murmured, worried and tensed. "We have to do something. We can't all stay here like this on an unknown island in whatever dimension this is. We don't know what's out there in the jungle. We have to find a way out of here", said another passenger. "And what do you suggest we do? Huh? Speak! We clearly don't know what strange dimension we crashed into nor if we still exist as it is now. Didn't you all see the sky strangely close up??," asked Scott, loudly, trying to make them realize that there was no hope. When, suddenly, a voice interrupted loudly, "We survive!!! All of us!!! Together!!!." They all turned immediately, to see whose voice echoed those words. And to their surprise, it was the soldier Bane Cross."We survive!! All of us!! Together!!." The passengers turned to see whose words echoed so loudly and, to their surprise, it was the man who had yelled out in the plane to embrace for impact. A few recognized him while others didn't know him nor recognize him because he wasn't seated in the same section of the plane as them. "I remember you", said one of the passengers. "Yes, I remember him too, speaking out at the airport during the commotion and on the plane before the crash", said another. A lot more of the passengers confirmed to have seen him earlier, while others were quiet because they didn't know the stranger that stood in front of them. Bane drew closer to a spot where he could be easily seen and heard. He then spoke out, "Everyone! Please, can I have your attention?!." They all got startled, and curious. The whole area became quiet. They all looked at him, waiting for him to speak. "Thank you. Now that I have all gotten your attention, I will now introduce myself. My name i
Somewhere deep in the jungle, Bane, Adam and Romero gently observed the strange forest. A few of the trees had strange carvings. And they looked somewhat strange. At first, it seemed like a regular symbol of a native culture carved by humans, but Romero could perceive a stench all over each carving that made him conclude in his instincts that it was probably carved by an unknown species. "You mean to say Aliens?? What made you draw that conclusion, Romero??", asked Bane, curious but not surprised at the possibility. Especially not after they had witnessed the whole vortex incident that led to them being in an unknown dimension. Romero stopped and looked beneath a gathered branch of leaves. "Look at this and how far it goes. These are footprints of something large, and you can see it only has three toes. We are definitely not alone, Bane", said Romero. "Unbelievable, I honestly want to find it hard to believe, but not with this evidence right in front of us. Even over there, they
"Hey boys!!! Turn back now!! It ain't safe going into the jungle. I wouldn't do that if I were you. So come on, turn back, you shouldn't go there, it's dangerous. Understood?", Warren stared at them hoping that they would make a turn back but they didn't.Delvin smiled and replied, "We will be fine, Mr Warren" and dashed off into the jungle, ignoring Warren's warning. Warren grinded his teeth in frustration and said, "Kids their age hardly listen to grown-ups. Don't they understand how dangerous it is heading into that jungle?? One of the passengers who was watching the entire time, stood up and said," Warren! Don't stress it.... Let me escort the boys, I promise you I won't let them go far", said the passenger. His name was Stan. Warren hesitated and said, "Well, okay. Just make sure they don't go far and try to keep them close to you. You're quite aware that boy is Bane's son, the soldier, who left hours ago to scout the Island. So please be careful and, like I said, don't go far",
Stan ran as fast as he could, leading the boys far away from shore. He had calculated that returning to the group at that moment was a bad idea. After witnessing the existence of unknown beings, and its intentions, he took the necessary precaution to avoid any of its kind following them all the way to shore and reeking havoc upon them. So he kept running through the jungle with the unconsious boy on his back while Delvin with the other boy tagged along. "Where are we going to?? We don't need to go that far away from the group. We don't know what's further out there in the jungle", said the third boy, who got exhausted for running that long and needed to catch his breath, and so he stopped. Stan and Delvin stopped as well and tried catching their breaths before making the next run further into the jungle. "I know what I am doing kid. We needed to draw their attention away from the others on shore or a lot might get injured or worse. Yes, I don't know where we are running to but, kee
"Mother!! They are here!!", screamed the boy. He looked frightened, like he had seen a ghost. Bane, Adam and Romero could tell from the boys' reaction that whatever had the boy frightened in that way, was related to the unknown existence of an Alien entity they had discovered earlier in the jungle. Immediately, they got on their feet and kept a low voice to hide their presence. "Madame. What do they look like?? Are they aliens?? Tell us. Is there something we need to know?? At least to know what we are up against. You must know something from all this time you and your people have co-existed with them", asked Bane, as he carefully peeped out the small windows, to keep watch of the area surrounding the tent. Romero and Adam rushed further into the tent to find themselves something they could use to fight against whatever it was that had the boy scared to his wits. "I found something. Come over....come look at this! ", said Romero. Adam quickly walked over to where he was and what th
It was on a rainy evening and the Airport in Landsville was crowded. Families and friends and different people from around and within the state were all gathered in a que.
