Somewhere deep in the jungle, Bane, Adam and Romero gently observed the strange forest. A few of the trees had strange carvings. And they looked somewhat strange. At first, it seemed like a regular symbol of a native culture carved by humans, but Romero could perceive a stench all over each carving that made him conclude in his instincts that it was probably carved by an unknown species.
"You mean to say Aliens?? What made you draw that conclusion, Romero??", asked Bane, curious but not surprised at the possibility. Especially not after they had witnessed the whole vortex incident that led to them being in an unknown dimension. Romero stopped and looked beneath a gathered branch of leaves. "Look at this and how far it goes. These are footprints of something large, and you can see it only has three toes. We are definitely not alone, Bane", said Romero. "Unbelievable, I honestly want to find it hard to believe, but not with this evidence right in front of us. Even over there, they are the same footprints, and they seem to have quite the numbers. I don't know what to say about this. I can only hope they are friendly", said Bane. Adam walked a little further as Romero and Bane spoke of their observations. Adam stopped when he noticed something buried in the roots of a tree. "Bane!! Romero!! Over here now!", he yelled in shock. They both hurried to where Adam was, and they were a bit taken aback at what they saw. "That's a human skull", said Bane. "Yes. It is", said Adam. "Does this mean that both Aliens and humans alike reside here??", asked Bane. Romero was silent. He drew closer to it and turned the back of the skull. What he saw made him look cautiously at his surroundings. He believed that the deceased either fell into a trap or he was murdered from behind, probably a few meters away. Bane noticed that Romero must have picked up something from his observation, and so he asked. "What do you see, Romero? Romero grabbed the skull and lifted it up. "Take a look at this, both of you. Whatever this was, he was definitely murdered from behind by something twice the normal size of a spear. From the opening behind its head, it's more likely a spear. Someone threw a spare at the deceased from quite a distance, and it went straight through the back of his skull and through the eyes. Whatever threw that spear, must have had a lot of training and twice the normal humanstrength for its spear to pass out through the eyes. From the look of it, I perceive it's more likely the three-toed alien that is responsible for this", said Romero, and turned to observe more carefully at his surroundings. Bane was not the least surprised by the discovery of an unknown species nor the co-existence of a human race. He was more concerned about how they could co-exist as well with them for some time till they find a way out of their rabbit hole. "Good job, Romero. Having you come along with us has helped cleared some clues of what to expect in this space dimension. At least, now we know we are not alone on the island. Now all we need to do is find a way to peacefully co-exist with them", said Bane. Adam advanced a bit further, carefully observing the area for any more clues that could help them understand more of their surroundings, but found nothing. He then walked back to Bane with a question. "And what if they are a threat to us??", asked Adam, while staring at the human skull right in front of him. "Honestly, I want to hope they are not, Adam. And that's why I am going to take a peaceful approach with whoever is their leader, alien or human. I am certain the humans residing with them will give us directions as to who their leader is. I will try to make them understand that we are not a threat to them and then see if they are reasonable people. And if they prove to be unreasonable and a threat to us, then they leave us no choice but to take necessary actions for our survival. No matter what, we all need to survive and make it back home to our families", said Bane, with a strong sense of responsibility. Adam nodded, affirming his words. "Hey! You guys! Over here, come look at this", said Romero. Bane and Adam rushed forward to look at what most likely looked like a village. From where they stood, the small village was built in between a valley. "Come on, let's go check it out", said Bane, and they stepped down into the valley. "Wait! You both look over there. There are people approaching us." They stood still waiting as two rugged-looking men from the village approached them. "Greetings. I am sorry if we are intruding, but our plane crashed in the sea, and so we are looking for a few of our numbers. We believe they survived the crash as we did. So please, have you, by any chance, seen any of our people in your village?", asked Bane. The two men looked at them as though they were tipsy and could barely understand a word of what Bane had said. One of them suddenly raised his arm and pointed to a tent in the middle of the village. "Go there. Go.......there", said both men sluggishly, and walked past them. They watched the two men walk past them then turned to face the village. For a minute, they gazed at the village and then, they walked towards it. Meanwhile, back on shore, the young men had successfully built a great number of shelters as directed by the retired officer. Just before they had begun construction, he introduced himself as Warren, a retired officer, and so did the others. They all got acquainted and, under his supervision, every man was able to help in one way or the other and this made it possible for them to build great numbers of shelters in a short time. The women and young people helped gather clothes, tools, medical equipment like first aid or any antibiotics in any of the passengers' bags, along with other supplies that could be of great use to them. Scott and Lance worked twice harder than anyone else to get the shelters ready and save them the torture from being scorched by the heat of the sun. The boys were impressively strong and filled with energy that kept them going for hours even when the others were already worn out for the day. "I wonder where they get their strength from. They just keep going at it even when they are terribly exhausted", said a passenger who sat down on the sandy beach along with the rest of the group taking rest. They all watched as Scott and Lance relentlessly pushed their bodies beyond every limit, along with Warren, who assisted them every step of the way. It was time to eat and the women in charge of distributing the little rations they could find, shared amicably the little food with every single passenger. While another group helped open up a great number of coconuts, brought down by a separate group of men. They were assigned earlier by Warren to provide the liquid juices in the coconut for everyone to drink so as to help quench their thirst. Some had tried to drink the seawater earlier but were unable to due to its salty taste, which was certainly not good for their health. As they ate and drank, completely worn out from the days' work, Scott and Lance seemed to have stopped and were seen laid down on the sandy beach feeling exhausted. "We pulled through Scott. We made as many shelters as possible, enough for everyone. We did it. Warren says we should rest for the day, and pick it up tomorrow. I didn't think a man like himself would be this resourceful", said Lance, feeling tired and dehydrated. "Anyway, we did it. At first, I thought I was going to breakdown, but somehow we managed to make quite enough shelter for everyone. Honestly, Warren is quite skilled for just a retired officer. He is more than what he says he is. He's done a lot for us today. He's a good man, that's for sure," said Scott as he gazed up at the sky. Lance was quiet and just stared at the food distribution post. At a short distance on the right, he saw that the women were still sharing rations, and he said, "Scott, let's go eat. I am hungry." Scott sat up and saw there were still some rations for the day. "Alright, let's go", he said, and they both stood up gently and walked to the food distribution area. Delvin got acquainted with a few boys and girls of the same age as he and was excited. They had finished eating and noticed the coconuts were not enough for everyone, so they made a quick thought out decision, to go get some more coconuts. Delvin and two boys, excluding the girls, volunteered themselves. They didn't take permission or make anyone aware of what they were about to do as they made their way into the jungle. Warren at the moment was catching his breath and stared around, when he saw the boys walking into the jungle. Immediately he yelled out."Hey boys!!! Turn back now!! It ain't safe going into the jungle. I wouldn't do that if I were you. So come on, turn back, you shouldn't go there, it's dangerous. Understood?", Warren stared at them hoping that they would make a turn back but they didn't.Delvin smiled and replied, "We will be fine, Mr Warren" and dashed off into the jungle, ignoring Warren's warning. Warren grinded his teeth in frustration and said, "Kids their age hardly listen to grown-ups. Don't they understand how dangerous it is heading into that jungle?? One of the passengers who was watching the entire time, stood up and said," Warren! Don't stress it.... Let me escort the boys, I promise you I won't let them go far", said the passenger. His name was Stan. Warren hesitated and said, "Well, okay. Just make sure they don't go far and try to keep them close to you. You're quite aware that boy is Bane's son, the soldier, who left hours ago to scout the Island. So please be careful and, like I said, don't go far",
Stan ran as fast as he could, leading the boys far away from shore. He had calculated that returning to the group at that moment was a bad idea. After witnessing the existence of unknown beings, and its intentions, he took the necessary precaution to avoid any of its kind following them all the way to shore and reeking havoc upon them. So he kept running through the jungle with the unconsious boy on his back while Delvin with the other boy tagged along. "Where are we going to?? We don't need to go that far away from the group. We don't know what's further out there in the jungle", said the third boy, who got exhausted for running that long and needed to catch his breath, and so he stopped. Stan and Delvin stopped as well and tried catching their breaths before making the next run further into the jungle. "I know what I am doing kid. We needed to draw their attention away from the others on shore or a lot might get injured or worse. Yes, I don't know where we are running to but, kee
"Mother!! They are here!!", screamed the boy. He looked frightened, like he had seen a ghost. Bane, Adam and Romero could tell from the boys' reaction that whatever had the boy frightened in that way, was related to the unknown existence of an Alien entity they had discovered earlier in the jungle. Immediately, they got on their feet and kept a low voice to hide their presence. "Madame. What do they look like?? Are they aliens?? Tell us. Is there something we need to know?? At least to know what we are up against. You must know something from all this time you and your people have co-existed with them", asked Bane, as he carefully peeped out the small windows, to keep watch of the area surrounding the tent. Romero and Adam rushed further into the tent to find themselves something they could use to fight against whatever it was that had the boy scared to his wits. "I found something. Come over....come look at this! ", said Romero. Adam quickly walked over to where he was and what th
It was on a rainy evening and the Airport in Landsville was crowded. Families and friends and different people from around and within the state were all gathered in a que. It was a busy evening and Lane Airline was scheduled to take off in about an hour. "Dad, Dad!!. I think I left behind my tablet, the one you bought for me the other day. Dad I need that tablet. We won't make it back on time. Let's just forget about the tablet, I promise I will get you another." It was noisy and hard to hear nor speak unless at close range. "Roger captain, switching from slow flight to deep dive!", yelled Max, the co-pilot. The captain held hard to his yoke, and pulled to the right position to maneuver away from the pressure of the vortex, which kept pulling at the plane with so much force. "Max!! Put a dispatch call through to the Airport control center, now!!", he said as he made the pull to the right position. "Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! This is lane Airline, en-route to Mera city!! We are facing an unbelievable situation; an abnormal sight of what looks like a vortex suddenly out of the open, and it's huge!! It's somehow sucking us in, causing intense turbulence on the plane. A lot more of the passengers confirmed to have seen him earlier, while others were quiet because they didn't know the stranger that stood in front of them. The whole area became quiet. They all looked at him, waiting for him to speak. "Thank you. Now that I have all gotten your attention, I will now introduce myself. My name i
