Sprigg who kept silent all of these moments said that she is going to appraise everything including how the mana works here. She said that nothing is strictly distinct when the mana crosses from the pocket worlds. It is still inside this world, it's just hidden from the common people.
This entire region is certainly not that large, people will come to know each other one way or the other. If not, those are the freemen that can cross borders from one city to another.
I, who retained my youth can still go anywhere I want since younger kids are allowed to pick up branches anywhere or if asked for an errand. Meeting a stranger along the way feels like I am living in a different village. The good thing about having an occasion in here is the Knights are stationed outside and a handful of them are only inside, which Sir Lyol happened to be outside.
Looking at the back of the broad torso of the fine tall man walking gallantly outside. Talking to the other armoured Knights. I approached and greeted him with sullen eyes. When he turned in my direction I can see that he's also surprised to see me. I received a very tight embrace from an armoured knight officer the moment he ran into me. I know well how he treats me as a younger brother. Although he looked like my father now that he aged so much, I can still remember him as a young squire of a knight.
"How are you alive and... young?" he asked.
Really? I've been hearing that question all day long. How is missing me sounds like? Ever since I arrived, everyone keeps asking me the same question. Sprigg doesn't have an answer to that question... yet. So, I don't have answers either. Then I glanced at the mansion where mana is unstable. Huh. There seems to be a magic wielder inside.
"Uh. I don't know?" I laughed awkwardly. I scratched my head and thought, what's happening inside. I asked him, "Are you a knight officer now?"
"Master, mana fluctuation is increasing from that mansion." Sprigg interrupted.
"Yes, I know" I replied telepathically. "Analyze it for me, Sprigg."
"Yes, Twig. You can be a squire now. Would you like to pursue your dreams?" he asked me with a serious face. I know that he knows how I want to be a squire, however, I have a different goal now.
"It is an honour to be your squire, Sir Lyol, but I would like to know my siblings' whereabouts first and if the new Lord would allow me to visit them."
"Magic caster is initiating fire magic," Sprigg announced.
We've talked about everything that I can think of as an excuse for being lost in the forest and keep rejecting his proposal. I know this is my lifelong dream but this time is different. I have never been so dejected from this world before as I was from the past. All I truly want is for my family to reunite again.
"Magic caster is finalizing the fire magic. Let's run, master." Sprigg announced again.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Twigg." he placed his right hand and I snatched it as I dragged him to run far enough to witness an explosion happening.
"Ho...How did you... know?" baffled, he asked as he brushed up his frizzy and lustrous golden hair.
"I can sense mana," I answered him while looking at the destroyed Lord's manor. I added, "Where's the new Lord?"
"Right," he gestured to the other knights who survived the explosion, "Protect the Lord" and then turned on me. "Come with me, Twig" he ran towards the mansion as I gathered my mana to create an air barrier. I also happen to learn this by chance since the last fight and tried covering Sir Lyol the same barrier.
"What's this?" He looked at me and added, "are you a magic caster now too?"
I didn't answer but nodded. I know it's a lot to take in but I can't answer that question right now. Rescuing the Lord comes first. I still need permission to travel to another city or else I will be a deserter. We ran until we arrived at the entrance of the manor. Yet, another explosion happened which caused another portion of manor obliterated. Rubbles and blocks of stones are falling from the sky. Sir Lyol blocked them using his arms but my air barrier automatically removed it from falling onto him. He looked completely amazed and said, "We'll talk later."
Someone is walking unhurriedly dragging a fat guy with ridiculous embellishments. That guy is a tall slender man with long rusty-coloured hair wearing a long black robe.
"Release the town's Lord."
Sir Lyol furiously walked in and uttered those words with his hands clutching on his broad swords. I hid at the huge rubble to ready myself as I protect him if any unnecessary action this caster will do.
"A mere warrior cannot defeat me." the caster replied, spreading one of his arms to summon his long wooden staff with a crystal at the top and added, "Wizard, show yourself."
"Get ready, Sprigg." I ordered her while she's working on the magic spells I can use and said, "Got it."
I slowly showed myself next to Sir Lyol who's still standing with his stance against a foe.
"Why did he know you're hiding?"
"Simple!" The caster laughed vigorously and added, "He's a high tier wizard, and if I am not mistaken, you are an archmage, correct?" he sneered diabolically.
"Sprigg," I asked her again through our thought link while Sir Lyol and I are showing ignorance to his words.
"It is a powerful spellcaster dedicated to the study of the arcane arts and usually quite old. They are well-versed with almost all types of mana manipulation," he answered.
...and Sprigg agreed with her high-pitched joyful voice, "Well, that sounds right, though."
"W-what do you mean?" Sir Lyol asked the magic caster while I furrowed my brows.
'I don't understand anything either.'
"Why side with these frail beings. You already reached the peak of power and as I can see it, you didn't pursue the next stage which could be lichdom. Instead, you reverted as a scrawny little child to disguise with." he faced me and spoke nonchalantly waving his arms. "You can become one of the elders in our kingdom! We can give you what you desire. You can become whoever you want!"
"Twigg, don't listen to him!" he grabbed my shoulder while tightening its grip on it.
"Master, mana fluctuation is increasing again. He's performing a space manipulation spell secretly. He's trying to get away."
I don't know how you are doing that kind of spell but I will obstruct that. I slowly gathered all the mana around us while secretly storing it on the artefact using the space inventory hindering his space manipulation to take effect. Although it's the same magic, mine is only limited to one place currently. As I am rendering its effect, I signalled Sir Lyol to start attacking him. He can still evade it skillfully.
"How... are you doing that?" the magic caster asked me then let go of the Lord.
I temporarily stopped removing the mana while protecting the Lord by granting an air barrier then the magic caster slowly got the chance to vanish using the same magic spell.
"We'll meet again, Archmage!"
Then his presence faded away.
After the incident, Knights and guardsmen were gathered in the main hall to tend to all the injured guests inside. They were having a simple celebration for the admission of the new Lord's daughter into the Kingdom's academy when one of the wizards attacked the new Lord's using explosion magic.
On the other hand, I was being summoned to the main hall's private room by the Lord's to be rewarded with an audience with him. While we are waiting for the new Lord's presence, I am being bombarded with questions with Sir Lyol and the other Knights that responded to the incidents, including the Knights from the Garrison.
"Can you also use divine magic?"
"Lyol must be proud to acquire such a competent squire," said Cole while sitting on a very soft green couch with flower embroidery.
I think this is wrong. Sir Lyol told me that this room is used only for announcing great people's achievement and I haven't done anything aside from covering the new Lord with my air magic. Yet, I was summoned to get an audience. No matter the reason, I will obey since that aligned with my intention of getting here. He also told me to speak politely when conversing with the Lord and to just speak truthfully. For now, I am flooded with questions all over the roof when they found out that I can use magic and saved the town's Lord.
"You're only like that since you don't have any magical aptitude and was sent to Knighthood's building instead," said Rad while pulling his long and thick orange beard.
"That same circumstance happened to you as well," said the knight with jet-black hair. "You should all know that you are talking to a strong magic caster. Don't forget why we are guarding this place." still sceptical, he added.
"Alright, that's enough." Sir Lyol spoke and added, "I have known this kid since I was young and I have never seen any faults from him. Yet, he saved the town's lord. Don't you all agree that he warrants respect from you?"
"That's true. He helped to save our Lord the day of the assault. Isn't that just a huge coincidence, Lyol?" the knight with jet-black hair refuted, crossing his arms.

†††"What's this guy's problem with you, master?" asked Sprigg telepathically. I shrugged my shoulders.
†††"W... what do you mean?" I stammered asking him.
†††When I arrived at the same room as I was escorted previously, I saw an old man standing next to the new lord. I think he'
†††A few hours have passed, but it was like days when I travelled with Professor Strauss on our way to the academy. He's been wondering how I've acquired my magic powers, and what are the things I can do apart from the barrier, and questions like how many simple spells I can use are never-ending. I mean, I may sound evasive to his questioning, but I'm still not comfortable answering questions that might lead to more imminent questions. Besides, he enjoys telling me the things I'm going to expect when we get there. So, I've let him talk all day.
†††Early in the morning, when we finally reached the Academy 's entrance, several other breathtaking wooden beast-drawn carriages were waiting outside to come to visit the maze-like city structure of the Academy. So even if it encompasses a vast flat landscape near the coast, several more trees are present, indicating that it has the right number of beasts that could also be ideal for potential great outdoor hunting. So it not only shows that many people who are here could therefore live but also the apprentices and their servants.
†††Everyone was exalted and thrilled when the magic knights announced that we're going to do the mock battles this very afternoon. We were instructed to follow them to the Castle Grounds in the middle of a city-like structure. In reality, this area is the widest of it all because it's where the enormous castle is positioned, and it has two massive stone steps that overtake you once you reach the fourth wall.

†††Everyone from her party cried out as if they had already won a fight. There was a warm cheer from the Knights freshman since she was simply part of their division. When she finally got to the battle point, she lowered her head slightly and then prepared her long, sturdy-looking swords with a purple jewel at the bottom of her handle. Pomell said that these colours represent how intense the concentration of mana inside the gemstones. The only known magic stones in t
Despite the nobles' seeming unjustified trepidation of the upcoming clash between the King and the audacious young man who rattled the throne room, people gathered in the most expansive royal courtyard ever.Although Archmage Varthos and General Damascus arrived in front of the King at the same point in time, they took turns greeting him. The elderly Archmage swiftly declared his purpose as they bowed slightly to show respect before proceeding to the small tent."Your Majesty," he whispered discreetly. "The offenders are on their way." The elderly appear to be delighted with what must be done with these pathetic people."Hmm. You appear to be pleased." The King flashed a smile. "Excellent." Looking intently at the young man holding a wooden staff. Thinking about how he kept
'Master, please utilize the spells I prepared for you,' Sprigg said, the last time he spoke to him telepathically. In conclusion, she has already considered this and is bracing herself for a confrontation with His Majesty, the King of Ardun. While he is probably still trying to recover from the breathtaking landscape of such an enchanting corridor covered with enormous paintings of people, he has been placed in a situation where he no longer has to retreat for his current life. This is a truly horrible fate, he thought. Why does he constantly wind up in this type of peril, he wondered. He gets to view the magnificent settings brought about by the miracles of magic, but a ridiculous manner of setting it off is eschewed. “Please tread cautiously, Archmage,” Eschel cautioned, astounded. Even though he is still bowing in the rear, Le
“Be thankful that this cultured one will demonstrate his strength to your helpless mortal. Wouldn't you agree that this new generation can provide so much from the ground up?” Declared the expanding shadow hovering just above the King's head as he gazed down at the lovely lady in a brown cloak. “All right, let's get started.” It paused and continued, nastily grinning, "King, take them all and have fun." “Coven of miasma,” the King stated quietly. A massive flood of black, tainted fog then attempted to envelop the whole throne hall. As it waded through every nook and corner, it liberated itself. From the perspective of a master, this is a daring and intelligent action. However, it was halted by an unknown force at the huge wooden door where the lovely lady and the young man were. It ceased dispersing as if it had chosen at random not to follow its conjurer.
†††It took a moment for everyone to shift their gazes from the aristocracy that had gathered only a breath away from the King's pedestal. These nobility fidgeted once more after the man behind Lemure's back in a long brown robe handed the present as an offering to the Knight near the General. This demonstrates that they may have liked the way in which he is behaving.Gifts are important and relevant for aristocracy, but they are not something to be praised for. Fortunately, this particular King did not consider gifting nobles to be necessary. Their attention was drawn mostly to the young man dressed modestly and the lady who was clearly not his lady in waiting. The old man with the hideous scar
†††If it is correct and accurate, seeking the right answer to all of my questions is guiding me from one destination to another. And, for that matter, I need to reconsider how I can devote my life to anything appropriate for this personal quest. Having said that, I'd really like to get rid of my doubts and believe everything they said.“...You are greater than the battle raging in our mind. Please be our guide.”It was the last thing I heard from Professor Strauss before a man in a brown shabby robe approached us and stood next to the doorway, bowing. I'm not sure what Professor meant by being a guide, but I know it has something to do with their task, and I'm right in the middle of it.“Pl
††† ‘What might have happened in his life in the wilderness that made him very much like this?' wondered the professor. Alas, he remembered reading a rhetorical study determining the unpredictable difficulty of any magical caster that holds such an enormous amount of power can also be explained by their emotions fueling their earnest magic; just like how they should be treated with caution and why must never be trifled with. Emotions are dangerous indeed, he thought at that time. “Aumier..” That, however, is not what is happening. Lemure, who has been sitting inside the carriage, has been experiencing numerous strong feelings and is unsure how to begin a dialogu
††† The Professor shared several stories, one after the other, and they all finished the same way. It was quite meaningless without the young man on the tier of Archmage who piqued his curiosity. This is only because the young man doesn't even want to ask questions about the story, and it is very awkward for him to go along with it. However one thing is certain: every now and then, he casts a look at Eschel, the young wizard the Professor claims to be his nephew as he tells his lived experiences. Nevertheless, Lemure who took precautions seems to be no longer on guard. “That’s after the fall of the Kingdom of Arcania, right?” The young wizard spoke enthusiastically to corroborate the story he had been giving attention to from the Professor ever since. He absolutely adored the deliberate manner in which this story was told. For a man to overcome his flaws and live through the ashes beneath his feet.
††† The room was filled up with hardship. Yes, for the lack of words, it is how I can describe it. Hardship is the one thing a person can only describe in front of such a crisis. Doubtful looks and cautious answers. Those were the behaviour on display. To be detailed yet not intruding; in other words, to be cautious in everything you say. Even for a while, Eschel, the young wizard, went through to inquire, peeping at the right moment to proceed. “Wasn't it something like that from the beginning?” “It was indeed like that.” “I have read that from the archives before and I can’t imagine how it was too much for a Kingdom to lose their face rather than lose the subjects. How can that be possible? In a face of danger, one shoul
†††"This has been lost a long time ago."I was thinking that if this were to strengthen my ties with them, then I'm not completely convinced and pleased that they're using my family to do something like this. His name, however, was not just a coincidence. Sure, there may be someone who could perhaps come up with names close to what we can use, but it's also a shame to continue to deny."Yes, perhaps that's true, but the day you disappeared. A majority of residents were gathered to participate in the rescue mission to take the time to look for two silly young boys who had been missing in the wilderness, but the only thing they had retrieved was the blade. Shortly afterward, seeing as the former Lord of Wilderfort had wasted a lot of time and resources, he eventually concluded that you both are al
