A few hours have passed, but it was like days when I travelled with Professor Strauss on our way to the academy. He's been wondering how I've acquired my magic powers, and what are the things I can do apart from the barrier, and questions like how many simple spells I can use are never-ending. I mean, I may sound evasive to his questioning, but I'm still not comfortable answering questions that might lead to more imminent questions. Besides, he enjoys telling me the things I'm going to expect when we get there. So, I've let him talk all day.
"The academy is located in the town of Palio and we will arrive in a little more hours. In an hour we should be coming to the only town in the West, the Town of Frillport."
After he had taken an old parchment out of his satchel, he let out a heavy sigh and pointed to the western part of the Kingdom where the marker was drawn.
"This is our final destination. Putting it in the centre of the four great nations of this world, where magicians hone their skills in wizardry."
He told me that the four great Kingdoms shared the same academy centuries before the war began to build young sorcerers to develop their magic. Even the Archmage of the newly developed Kingdom of Corithia was a wizard at the Darathos Academy for Knights and Mages.
The only kingdom separated by land is Lunaria, and the kingdoms of Ardun, Darathos, Meda, are the four great nations that have flourished on the continent. Peace and order were maintained by the Rule of the Great Kingdoms until the Second Prince of Ardun found the desolate and remote land in the South, divided by the Blue Mountain.
"... the second prince and his followers moved south to create a new kingdom, now called the Corithia Empire, to honour and respect his dying wife, who was accidentally struck by the magical surge of Ardun's crown prince.
"Is that how the war began between the two kingdoms?" I decided to ask.
"The four kingdoms, young warlock. Princess Corithia was the third daughter of King Darathos. Certainly, this kingdom will support the quest of another prince, avenging the death of his daughter. King Ardun, who died a year later, crowned Prince Arnaud, the new king of his people, announcing a war against his brother. Allegations are spreading like wildfire that both princes have had the same princess's love contributing to the origin of this conflict."
"Lunaria and Meda are the northern realms... ah, how did they start to behave on the declaration of the new King?"
"You see, boy. Lunaria is the Realm of Fairies aiding and abetting the three kingdoms in practising wizardry. That's why the first academy is situated in the middle of the four realms. It's stupid to take up a battle with the Elves, Dwarves and Holy Sprites who reside on the vast island, deeming it invulnerable to attacks. By calling for and supporting an alliance, King Arnaud pursued his quest. Yet, because she did not want to interfere with the clash, the Queen of Lunaria refused. The rest of the kingdoms shut off a large portion of their borders."
"The Kingdom has been left alone, huh."
"That's true. Maybe the King thought he was being pressured by them, making him search for other opportunities and invading the neighbouring small kingdom of Arcana, now the centre of his Academy of Fine Soldiers and Mages. Now, boy. After the collapse of the Kingdom, the Empire of Ardun marched its soldier across the tumultuous seas of the South and found the Island of Dragons and Demons."
"Fascinating. That's a lovely tale, master. I would like to visit that Kingdom soon."
Sprigg who said nothing after we left my home town spoke really enthusiastically. This is expected since it's all about fairies. I didn't mind her, though, I just continued talking to Professor Strauss.
"You mean the beasts from the books?"
"You read the Book of Crusaders, then?"
"Ooooh! I also want to read the tale of the heroes, Master!?"
"I... I think so, yes."
I shifted my sight and saw the wooden carriage pulled by the beast in the window. I can say with confidence that this town is significantly larger than ours. I suppose this is what Professor Strauss, called the City of Frillport, is all about. He stopped talking to me and handed me a book. It looked like a manuscript that Sir Lyol had let me borrow before, but the pages were older and wrinkled like a completely dried human skin.
"This is one of the old books I've successfully gotten somehow from the auction. It's worth a lot of gold coins. I feel very fortunate to let you lend this, young warlock."
"Master!"
Immediately, I flipped the pages open and examined its content. However, it's totally different from what I've read before. Although, I know he's helping me to attend this academy. I mean, just by going this far is absurd. I, for one, have no noble blood.
"Why?" I flinched.
"Knowledge is awareness, boy. You know, this is not just an ordinary book. It includes the vulnerability of the beasts all those past heroes have destroyed. Also, my lesson is all about learning to fight against these creatures."
"...I see."
"It's almost dark and gloomy. We'll talk about this later."
After a long trip, we managed to get to this place, this is about twice the size of our town. The coachman then went to "Heks" the beast. It's a four-legged furry beast. It was a beast. These coachmen like to call themselves beast tamers which were hired from an independent organization called "The Guild," and dubbed "The Renegades" by Knights such as Sir Rad and the others.
Originally, the renegades were a group of retired, if not physically incapable, are veteran and older knights forming a brotherhood. They were knights that found a way to earn for a living by rendering their service to the people in the kingdom. Sometimes they hunt monsters who went astray, rumbled outside a city, or hired to guard merchants or noble guests.
Now, even capable Knights are joining the brotherhood. That's the reason why Knights like Sir Rad and the others detest these groups of people. Although, they are participating in the war. They are rising in numbers, while the Knights are shrinking.
"Leave your things. We 're just going to eat here and start our trip to the academy right after."
The coachmen hurled themselves before a four-story tavern. We had a tavern in my hometown before, but the previous Lord did not want to make stupid people waste his hard-earned money. He said we must learn how our money should be saved. People didn't fight and listened to him instead. In comparison to the tavern that stood before me as if a colossal manor were made of wood and boards and not stones but on the second floor upward.
"Understood."
Sprigg returned to being silent now, who distracted me when all the conversations were regarding fairies. Yeah, she assured me that everything she considered necessary would help me improve my magical capacity. Otherwise, I'm alone. How ridiculous it is. While I know she's just floating around me. I can't help but realize that I'm abandoned since I have temporarily constrained our whole thought communication.
After a bit, we went into the tavern and searched for a place to wait for our meal, and the coachmen went to the stables and checked for their beasts and wooden carriages. Overlapping chatters were heard throughout, as though there was a huge feast honouring an incredible accomplishment. Cheers and ales and songs are heard within, where citizens sang the glory of a great hunt.
"Do you recognize this song, child? You seem to enjoy this somehow?"
"Ah... huh? No, the melody is just fun and interesting."
"This is the song of the heroes' great hunt. When we get to the academy, be sure to read it. So, you'll enjoy it more."
I agreed, staring at the men shouting praises. I held my eyes wandering to the people within the pub, and the ladies served almost full ales to the next floor. They were gorgeous young, grown-up ladies with black hairs.
"One more thing, child. Since you're in charge of protecting Bradrick 's daughter, I'm going to tell you her assigned class. Don't worry, all classes will start a week later. So, you still have a lot of time to get to know her."
"That sounds all right."
... and after that, the food is served. Along with the harmony which people sing, I enjoyed the warmth of the soup and bread. Then people started to stand up and perform inside the circle and dance the night away with their ales and wines. I spent the night with one goal in my mind, to look for my siblings and to start another life after the loss of 20 Luner. Although this is only once in a while, I get to enjoy the warmth of my heart when people meet to celebrate. I will relax because I won't know what to expect when we enter the academy.

†††Early in the morning, when we finally reached the Academy 's entrance, several other breathtaking wooden beast-drawn carriages were waiting outside to come to visit the maze-like city structure of the Academy. So even if it encompasses a vast flat landscape near the coast, several more trees are present, indicating that it has the right number of beasts that could also be ideal for potential great outdoor hunting. So it not only shows that many people who are here could therefore live but also the apprentices and their servants.
†††Everyone was exalted and thrilled when the magic knights announced that we're going to do the mock battles this very afternoon. We were instructed to follow them to the Castle Grounds in the middle of a city-like structure. In reality, this area is the widest of it all because it's where the enormous castle is positioned, and it has two massive stone steps that overtake you once you reach the fourth wall.

†††Everyone from her party cried out as if they had already won a fight. There was a warm cheer from the Knights freshman since she was simply part of their division. When she finally got to the battle point, she lowered her head slightly and then prepared her long, sturdy-looking swords with a purple jewel at the bottom of her handle. Pomell said that these colours represent how intense the concentration of mana inside the gemstones. The only known magic stones in t
†††After the full set of armoured steel melted and covered her entire body, the massive tree monster began to move towards Cedany and swallowed her inside. Interestingly, the giant monster also seemed to be amalgamating with steel and slowly and gradually shrinking, as if giving it the same set of armour, but differently."Ha! I will definitely ask her what she calls that kind of spell!" Roe spoke enthusiastically.
†††While the cheers went a lot wilder than the time she ascended the platform. Everyone on the Mage Division team did not mind the loud clapping and cheering from the viewing audience when Thea suddenly and without warning placed her hand next to Cedany's body when she aptly called for her spell and yelled, "Mystical healing!""It's really great to have someone from the gemstone class to cast healing magic!" she said."Yeah! You should've seen her watching so worried sick about you!" Roe replied teasing Thea.Thea did not respond to his teasing, but Arabella eventually came up to us, removed her protruding silly hat, placed her hands on her hips, and officially started to grimace furiously towards Cedany."You are a fool, really. Changing your magic wand with that big sword? How could you possibly—?"Bella!—"Arabella turned her head and lifted her right hand to Pomell, who was attempting to stop her."I'm not done with—! Ugh. No matter how desperately you try to pretend to be a magic
†††"Does that mean that we're limited to just one element and if we're lucky enough, we can get two? Is that correct?" I asked apprehensively.

Despite the nobles' seeming unjustified trepidation of the upcoming clash between the King and the audacious young man who rattled the throne room, people gathered in the most expansive royal courtyard ever.Although Archmage Varthos and General Damascus arrived in front of the King at the same point in time, they took turns greeting him. The elderly Archmage swiftly declared his purpose as they bowed slightly to show respect before proceeding to the small tent."Your Majesty," he whispered discreetly. "The offenders are on their way." The elderly appear to be delighted with what must be done with these pathetic people."Hmm. You appear to be pleased." The King flashed a smile. "Excellent." Looking intently at the young man holding a wooden staff. Thinking about how he kept
'Master, please utilize the spells I prepared for you,' Sprigg said, the last time he spoke to him telepathically. In conclusion, she has already considered this and is bracing herself for a confrontation with His Majesty, the King of Ardun. While he is probably still trying to recover from the breathtaking landscape of such an enchanting corridor covered with enormous paintings of people, he has been placed in a situation where he no longer has to retreat for his current life. This is a truly horrible fate, he thought. Why does he constantly wind up in this type of peril, he wondered. He gets to view the magnificent settings brought about by the miracles of magic, but a ridiculous manner of setting it off is eschewed. “Please tread cautiously, Archmage,” Eschel cautioned, astounded. Even though he is still bowing in the rear, Le
“Be thankful that this cultured one will demonstrate his strength to your helpless mortal. Wouldn't you agree that this new generation can provide so much from the ground up?” Declared the expanding shadow hovering just above the King's head as he gazed down at the lovely lady in a brown cloak. “All right, let's get started.” It paused and continued, nastily grinning, "King, take them all and have fun." “Coven of miasma,” the King stated quietly. A massive flood of black, tainted fog then attempted to envelop the whole throne hall. As it waded through every nook and corner, it liberated itself. From the perspective of a master, this is a daring and intelligent action. However, it was halted by an unknown force at the huge wooden door where the lovely lady and the young man were. It ceased dispersing as if it had chosen at random not to follow its conjurer.
†††It took a moment for everyone to shift their gazes from the aristocracy that had gathered only a breath away from the King's pedestal. These nobility fidgeted once more after the man behind Lemure's back in a long brown robe handed the present as an offering to the Knight near the General. This demonstrates that they may have liked the way in which he is behaving.Gifts are important and relevant for aristocracy, but they are not something to be praised for. Fortunately, this particular King did not consider gifting nobles to be necessary. Their attention was drawn mostly to the young man dressed modestly and the lady who was clearly not his lady in waiting. The old man with the hideous scar
†††If it is correct and accurate, seeking the right answer to all of my questions is guiding me from one destination to another. And, for that matter, I need to reconsider how I can devote my life to anything appropriate for this personal quest. Having said that, I'd really like to get rid of my doubts and believe everything they said.“...You are greater than the battle raging in our mind. Please be our guide.”It was the last thing I heard from Professor Strauss before a man in a brown shabby robe approached us and stood next to the doorway, bowing. I'm not sure what Professor meant by being a guide, but I know it has something to do with their task, and I'm right in the middle of it.“Pl
††† ‘What might have happened in his life in the wilderness that made him very much like this?' wondered the professor. Alas, he remembered reading a rhetorical study determining the unpredictable difficulty of any magical caster that holds such an enormous amount of power can also be explained by their emotions fueling their earnest magic; just like how they should be treated with caution and why must never be trifled with. Emotions are dangerous indeed, he thought at that time. “Aumier..” That, however, is not what is happening. Lemure, who has been sitting inside the carriage, has been experiencing numerous strong feelings and is unsure how to begin a dialogu
††† The Professor shared several stories, one after the other, and they all finished the same way. It was quite meaningless without the young man on the tier of Archmage who piqued his curiosity. This is only because the young man doesn't even want to ask questions about the story, and it is very awkward for him to go along with it. However one thing is certain: every now and then, he casts a look at Eschel, the young wizard the Professor claims to be his nephew as he tells his lived experiences. Nevertheless, Lemure who took precautions seems to be no longer on guard. “That’s after the fall of the Kingdom of Arcania, right?” The young wizard spoke enthusiastically to corroborate the story he had been giving attention to from the Professor ever since. He absolutely adored the deliberate manner in which this story was told. For a man to overcome his flaws and live through the ashes beneath his feet.
††† The room was filled up with hardship. Yes, for the lack of words, it is how I can describe it. Hardship is the one thing a person can only describe in front of such a crisis. Doubtful looks and cautious answers. Those were the behaviour on display. To be detailed yet not intruding; in other words, to be cautious in everything you say. Even for a while, Eschel, the young wizard, went through to inquire, peeping at the right moment to proceed. “Wasn't it something like that from the beginning?” “It was indeed like that.” “I have read that from the archives before and I can’t imagine how it was too much for a Kingdom to lose their face rather than lose the subjects. How can that be possible? In a face of danger, one shoul

A majority of residents were gathered to participate in the rescue mission to take the time to look for two silly young boys who had been missing in the wilderness, but the only thing they had retrieved was the blade.
