Chapter 1: Poor Louis Struggled for Living

University of Gloria

The afternoon sunlight was shining all over the campus, and the favored ones were doing their own things:

The college students sweated wantonly on the playground, playing basketball, rugby, and football; Lovers lay on the grass, their faces covered by books, enjoying the spare time in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Louis was taking the delivery in his hand and walked towards his bicycle, determined to continue working hard for the day. He needed the money to support his living expenses.

Though he didn't particularly enjoy his part-time job, he knew he had to accept it for the sake of his livings.

As he rode his bicycle towards the delivery location, he was suddenly met with a crowd of people blocking his path.

He recognized their voices immediately, and his heart sank. It was Steve and his group of friends, the ones who often mocked and belittled him.

Louis contemplated turning away, wanting to avoid them, but before he could react, they quickly surrounded him and one of them mockingly spoke up.

"Oh, why are you running away? Are we classmates, or do you also find your work embarrassing?" Steve sneered, his friends joining in the laughter.

Louis gritted his teeth in frustration. He despised Steve and his companions, but he was too tired to argue with them. Remaining silent, he endured their taunts.

Steve noticed that Louis's lack of response and continued with a sneer:

"What's the matter? I'm right, aren't I? You can't argue with that. Maybe you should drop out of school. With your meager salary, how can you survive? If you want, I can hire you as my valet. I'll pay you more. I have plenty of money, ha ha ha..."

Steve's laughter echoed, followed by the laughter of his friends. They continued to ridicule Louis, suggesting he quit school and become a security guard or some other low-paying job.

Their words stung, but Louis remained silent, infuriating Steve even more. Steve kicked Louis's bike forcefully, displaying his anger and dominance.

"Are you deaf? I'll see how long you can endure!" Steve shouted, his aggression escalating.

Filled with anger, Louis pushed Steve in response. Steve fell to the ground, and the fall was brutal. His friends stifled their laughter, refraining from joining in.

Steve, seething with rage, stood up and retaliated by punching Louis in the stomach. Louis doubled over in pain, but as he raised his fist to fight back, Steve taunted him with a contemptuous tone.

"Go ahead, fight back. Tomorrow, you'll be called into the principal's office, and you'll be expelled. I'll make sure you won't find any job to support yourself!" Steve declared, his voice dripping with confidence.

Louis's eyes filled with rage, but he couldn't bring himself to strike back.

Steve was right, he was able to ruin Louis's life easily. Steve's mother held influence within the school board, and his father was wealthy.

Louis felt helpless, unable to retaliate. He rolled his eyes in frustration and released Steve.

Steve laughed triumphantly, and his friends proceeded to beat Louis. They aimed their blows carefully, avoiding his face. Louis endured the pain, feeling utterly powerless against their bullies.

After a while, Steve signaled his friends to stop. He approached Louis, grabbed his chin, and forced him to look up.

"You're nothing but a pathetic insect. You should disappear. You're only fit to lick my shoes!" Steve sneered, his words dripping with disdain.

With that, he left, and his friends toppled Louis's bicycle before following suit.

Louis struggled to his feet, his eyes burning with anger as he stared at his damaged bike on the ground. His fists clenched in frustration, but he knew there was nothing he could do.

It had become a recurring occurrence, and he could only watch helplessly as they mocked him.

They were right. He had nothing while Steve's privileged background made him untouchable.

After standing there for a while, Louis picked up his bike, composed himself, and continued his delivery work.

The recipients of the packages also treated him poorly, checking the goods, paying him, and slamming the door in his face.

It was an impolite act, but Louis had grown accustomed to such treatment.

They all looked down on him. Steve despised him, and anyone who wanted to curry favor with Steve would also harbor ill feelings towards Louis. He wondered when this miserable life of his would come to an end.

Clutching the money he had just received, Louis silently counted his earnings. He contemplated purchasing a phone for his innocent and beautiful girl, Judy.

He was born in a poor family. His mother had passed away when he was only eight years old, and his father was missed in a sail.

Afterwards, he grew up in the orphanage. So he always felt inferior because of his lack of wealth and families, but Judy had remained by his side, bringing him immense happiness.

Judy was his girlfriend, met in the university. She was beautiful and innocent, and there were many people having crushes on her.

However, she chose him as her prince charming. She never looked down upon him and always encouraged him to work hard.

He started to envision their future together, promising that he would give Judy everything she desired when he became successful.

As the afternoon sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the campus, Louis was going to finish his day's work. This was the final delivery he had to make.

Oddly, the package he carried was a intimate item. He wondered who had wanted such a stuff to be delivered to the dormitory.

Shaking his head, he pedaled towards the destination and knocked on the door, waiting patiently.

Several minutes had passed, no one answered despite his repeated attempts. Just as he was about to give up, the door finally opened, revealing a disgusting and a pretty face.

Her curves are voluptuous, accentuated by her thin clothing that showed her figure. Her skin looked smooth and slightly sun-kissed, giving off a radiant glow that drew the eye. Her hair was long and flowing, framing her face in waves of honey-colored silk.

However, what surprised Louis was her identity instead of the beautiful appearance.
