Chapter III: The Cursed Cave Dungeon (IV)

It all started when Coby and Kane were watching Layla sitting alone in the guild building. They admire Layla's beauty and body shape. Even though the girl has tried not to stand out and dress modestly, the purity of her beauty still radiates and invites their attention.

At a glance, they could tell that Layla must be a noble, and a noble must be wealthy and have money. Instead, those who were in a stalemate spent the rest of their money on drinking until a depraved idea popped into Kane's head.

They can play around with the girl and ask for something in return. A classic method that any petty bandit could do.

The choice of The Cursed Dungeon was not purely random, but they had thought of using the dungeon mechanism to isolate Archie and Layla. Reasons can come later, give the girl a bit of a threat, and people will simply believe that incident happened and the newbie can’t be saved.

On the other hand, Layla acted more aggressively because she followed her emotions when she saw her fiancé getting intimate with another woman, which happened in such a short time.

This world has different ethics and laws from Archie's previous world. Archie's bonds and emotions with this world remain even though someone else possessed his soul; human feelings would suddenly appear to him as they were.

While studying this world, Archie learns that dungeons are a domain that is physically separate from the dimension in which the world resides. Is this dimension in the same world, or the dungeon gate is the gate to another world? His journey is still so long to get the coffers of knowledge.

Someone who is physically strong can win in a fight, and someone who is smart can find a way to avoid the fight. At least, for him, strength and intelligence cannot be separated, whatever the reason.

“Someone suffers and dies because of their weakness…even in my world, such things are common,” Archie muttered.

As Kane said, monster spawns continued to appear even after Archie slashed them one by one. He was a whitecaste, the lowest rank among the adventures. He had just finished tutorial mode and was immediately told to explore a dungeon above his level.

Archie's skill was still 0, with a full skill point of 20. He didn't even take out the sword he had just bought in Craydon city, which was still hanging sideways behind his waist.

Grimoire of the Wind—a power that will awaken due to the existence of a soul outside this world.

When a masked figure attacked his mother, Archie's body became weak, and he lost his strength as soon as he awakened the Grimoire. That's because every second, a skill in the Grimoire is processed, draining the owner's mana.

"That masked man... he can so casually cast great magic and not get tired, that means it has something to do with my compatibility with this Grimoire," he said. Archie read a page that was currently open.

[[Weapon: One-handed Sword]]

[[Skill: Wind Cutter [10s]]

[[Skill: Crescent Slash [R]]

“It seems like a cooldown before I can use the same skill. Considering my current level, there's likely to be a change in the skill's power, level, form, or cooldown. Very gaming."

Before Archie continued to kill the spawn monsters, he remembered Erick's movements against the mummy monsters. At that time, he alternately used his buffs and active skills. However, Erick combined his class skills with pure swordsmanship, so he seemed fine with holding the cooldown.

The humans in this world didn't just rely on their skills alone but also combined physical abilities and martial skills.

If one were old, they would most likely have more skills, but their mana capacity was insufficient, not to mention the aging point of human physical health.

“But… this moved me a bit.”

Before getting his ID card, Archie had time to think about some raw theories in his head. Having the opportunity to explore a dungeon two levels above was the opportunity he chose from the beginning.

There would usually be an exp bonus in the game world if a low-level player defeated a higher monster. Sometimes, the in-game system creates penalties or limitations, so players cannot exploit these advantages.

In order to increase his grade quickly and be able to explore the top-level dungeons, Archie must immediately rise to the minimum Redcaste level.

When defeating monsters, exp points will be automatically calculated and included in the ID card. A straight line under the ID card shows the amount a person owns in percentage terms.

"Zero percent when I received the ID card, and now it goes up to twenty-three percent when I complete the mission in this secret room."

Staring around the room, Archie had wiped out all the monsters. Archie is disappointed that no surprise reward mechanism appears when he completes the secret challenge. But, at least the room was back open.

Going through the ordeal in The Given opened Archie's knowledge to another level. His thoughts which from the beginning were still fixated on knowledge and laws in his previous world, had now shifted.

Magic that used to be a fairy tale to him has become a reality. Archie was more familiar with the Grimoire’s potential and how to master it.

People who aren’t from this world are called the Outlanders, although for now, Archie only knows himself and the masked figure. There are not only two Outlanders appearing in this world—it’s very clear to him.

It was certain that normal humans wouldn’t awaken a Grimoire, and the fact that possessing a Grimoire was like having extra skills and a guide or system was extremely overpowering. With such power, there should have been recorded history explaining the events or lore of the Grimoire.

In fact, Archie didn’t find any information or knowledge about Grimoire. Maybe it was natural because he also just got it yesterday.

Are the Outlanders hiding their powers and identities? Is there no history that managed to write down literacy about the Outlander or the Grimoire? Does he have to openly present himself as the possessor of a Grimoire to lure other Outlanders?

Slowly, one by one, his curiosity peaked and was unbearable.
