Mission 2

William accompanied the caravan easily for five days. The caravan, like any other caravan, would stop for the night, camp, and then continue on their way in the morning.

So far, they had encountered dozens of creatures along the way, and they had easily defeated all of them and been guests at the caravan's dinner tables. They stopped occasionally in a few villages and towns, buying furs, leather, and all kinds of herbs from the townspeople, who welcomed them enthusiastically.

William's attention was focused solely on Elura. In fact, once, in a situation where more than ten creatures were attacking at once, he was so focused on Elura that he did not notice the two official mages watching him intently. William had smelled them all, and Elura's scent in particular was now too strong for him to lose. (Yes, I know. This looks very perverted.)

Another five days later, William awoke from his homemade hammock in a tree to the sounds of battle. Two scouts were missing about a kilometre ahead.
