She sat at her favorite spot, “It is time to make more money.” she screamed out.”

The card is shared amongst the players and the game begins, Mrs. Maria has lost the first hand, but she continues without hesitation.

Within an hour her calm demeanor had changed and her face transformed into a masked fury. She stared at the card before her in disdain, she had been on a losing streak since she sat down.

Hot sweat drenched her face profusely down to her ear, and with each loss her frustration mounted, fueled by the relentless onslaught of bad luck.

Her phone was buzzing and she stared at her screen. It was from her daughter, and she hissed in frustration before turning it off to avoid distraction.

A slight tapping on her shoulder made her turn her back in annoyance, she was about to scream at the person when she saw his serious face she calmed down. She abruptly paused facing him, she faked a smile on her face.

“Hello Mr. Derrick Philip,” she said softly.
