CHAPTER 189

Ruger pleaded for Jason to stop, and he was willing to speak. Jason’s gaze switched from Ruger to detective William who gave him a light nod before moving back to Ruger.

“I will speak. Just stop, please.” Ruger said, pleading.

“Then don’t waste our time, speak.” Detective William said giving no room for Ruger as his gun was still aimed at him.

Ruger felt defeated, he knew the men weren’t willing to give up if he didn’t speak, and he would be going to jail even if he spoke or not. He opened his mouth to make a statement when a gunshot rang from an unknown direction. Ruger’s body jerked violently and collapsed to the ground with blood pooling around him.

“Get down, Get down.” Detective William shouted at the top of his voice.

Detective William and Jason moved towards a nearby vehicle, as they sought to protect themselves from the unknown person. Chaos erupted as the sound of gunfire filled the air. Both men hid behind a car, trying to pinpoint the shooter’s location.
