CHAPTER 25

Jayden woke up with a banging headache and held his head steady. His brain seemed to have been clogged and he struggled with trying to remember what was pressing before he fell asleep.

He stood up and walked to the shower. He bent over the sink and rinsed his face. The moment the warm water touched his face, some thoughts began to crawl back into his head. He remembered that he did not see Medeia the night before.

“Medeia…” he whispered and hurried out of the bathroom, into the bedroom. But again, she was not in bed.

His heart spiked with anxiety and it propelled him to race downstairs to see if perhaps she was in her own bedroom.

The moment he opened the door, an enticing aroma filled his nostrils. It was emanating from his kitchen.

“It is too early for either Lucy or Salome to be around his home; their resumption time is 10am. Who then is in the kitchen?” He asked himself in a frustrating state of soliloquy.
