CHAPTER 20

Weeks passed by and Baron walked through the horrific feeling of losing his wife for no reason.

“You should have known she was just a gold-digger,” his friend Mark said.

“She never loved you, I guess you were simply the rebound guy for her,” Cassie said.

He sat with them over brunch and they tried to get him out of his sinking mood in a cafe.

“I just felt that perhaps, we had a chance. But why I feel the most pain is that I thought she would have at least accepted that she loved me and put aside all other distractions. To think that she would still hurt me publicly.” His voice was breaking as his anger began to rise again.

“Leave it! Stop thinking about her! You have got us,” Cassie said with reassuring smile.

“Can I shock you? She is definitely gonna come back,” Mark grinned. “I feel she is still eyeing Jayden and probably feels humiliated that her sister won Jayden's heart. But Jayden knows better than to accept someone who ditched him when he supposedly had nothing.”
