CHAPTER 11

Bernard was sitting on his couch and watching 8K television, with his dogs sleeping on either side.

Bernard’s thoughts drifted to the conversation he had with Jim. “If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t have given all the money to my aunt after selling my father’s restaurant. I would have at best given her half, but he gave everything to her. I’m not sure if he did that because he’s naive or because trusting others in his family’s nature, but whatever the case, his aunt now brought him to the streets. That cunning, shameless woman…”

Meanwhile, Jim was walking down the street by himself. He still found all the things that Bernard had shown him and told him unbelievable.

He had asked Bernard for some pocket money as he had empty pockets, but Bernard refused to give him even a penny.

Bernard’s words played in Jim’s mind: Don’t mistake me for your ATM. I’m your boss until I find you worthy to put you on top of my head.
