“Spider Web!”A large web of light flew toward Jim insanely fast.Jim didn’t try to dodge this time. He thrust his palm forth and created a vivre barrier which managed to stop the web, but the web began to melt into the barrier and weakened it.“Crocodile’s Tail!”Lovelace this time sent a whip-like attack that tried to blast its way through the barrier. And it did manage to break the barrier, but Jim already created another barrier.“Lizard’s Tongue!”She sent a thrusting attack this time, which broke the barrier, but then Jim caught the rope-like light that was quite hot. But his spiritual vivre helped his hand bear the heat. Despite being on the defensive, he could feel himself getting stronger. Everyone around him felt suffocating to be in his presence. “The result will not change.”“J-Jim, wait,” Electric Assassin quickly grabbed Jim’s hand as he was stepping forward. He leaned closer and whispered, “Scarlet is with us. She just signaled. Trust me.”Jim’s expression, however, didn’t change. He was planning to kill all three women before him at once. The fog began to thicken all over the third floor, so much so that people couldn’t see more than a couple of feet around them.Nobody understood what was happening. The fog was very cold, much more chilling and biting than the early morning winter fog.Even though nobody on the third floor could be called weak, many people still felt oppressed by the fog that began to dullen their senses as well as their bodily functions, almost making them feel as if they didn’t want to fight or even do anything. It was as if the weak-minded ones were being influenced into becoming lazy and doing nothing but just unintentionally inhaling his fog.Jim could see Doug being pulled into some kind of a dream-like hypnotic state, and so he slapped him on the back of the head. My favorite character is Jim, not because he’s the protagonist, but because he will give me food if I go to his restaurant with empty pockets more than once. He didn't have many friends growing up, but if you ask Shiney, she’ll tell you that he’s the kind you wouldn’t want to end your relationship with once you get to know him. Then again, Shiney might give you a different answer depending on the mood she’s in when you ask her.
