CHAPTER 57

Jim didn’t chase Diego straight away. Instead, he came downstairs and dealt with the remaining gangsters that were still on their feet. As he was making sure there was nobody else in the building, he stumbled on a room that was locked. He opened the door, thinking it was a storage room.

But then he heard a girl crying in the darkness. For a second, his heart shook from anxiety thinking it was a ghost, but then he saw the girl. “Y-You’re…”

“P-Please don’t hurt me,” the girl cried. “I beg you.”

Jim understood what the gangsters were trying to do to her. “I-I’m not here to hurt you. If you trust me, c’mon out. I’ve already dealt with the guys, but we have to leave this place quickly.”

She didn’t believe him, but she had no other choice but to come out of them. After seeing the dead bodies on the floor, she began to believe Jim’s words. “D-Did you kill them all?” She had heard gun noises, but she thought that it was an intergang war or something. “Are you part of another gang?”
