Carsen told Lola about the case that Jim had filed on the police officers for brutally torturing and humiliating him in the police station instead of taking him to the court.

Lola was surprised, but not as much as her husband.

“He looked fine to me, though,” Marc said. “Will the court really believe that he’s wounded?”

“There’s an audio recording of the whole incident, and he’s also taken pictures when he had those wounds,” Carsen said. “We have sufficient, no, solid proof that can prove the officers guilty. This case is going to be big because half a dozen officers will at least be suspended and at worst will be sent to jail.”

“And why are you telling this to us, mister?” Marc didn’t speak respectfully to Carsen because he still didn’t know who Carsen exactly was. “Why didn’t Jim tell us this?”

“Because he didn’t want you to feel anxious,” Carsen said. “That’s the only reason I can think of. This can easily turn into a high-profile case because we’re going to be
