Jim mentally prepared himself to fight, and his body was ready to move toward the door that just opened, but his body automatically stopped when his eyes saw an eight-year-old girl step out of the room, holding what looked like two grenades in her hands.

And she was trembling in fear.

“I want to see my mommy,” she cried and shed tears as she looked at Jim. “Will you help me, uncle?”

Jim frowned. “What sort of joke is this? Am I supposed to kill this little girl now? You call this a challenge? Will you get horny by watching me kill this girl, you damn watchers?”

[Hey, I don’t think it’s a good idea to scold them.] Joe said. [Instead, you should focus on your opponent. She may be a kid, but if she hits you with those bombs, you’ll die a dog’s death.]

The little girl suddenly froze in her steps midway.

“What the…” Jim didn’t get what was happening. “D-Did she just freeze?”

[I think they controlled her body and froze her through frequency waves.] Joe said.

“T-They can do that?” Jim

There were levels among the watchers: Low, Mid, and High. There were tens of thousands of low-level watchers spread across the world. There were about 9000 mid level watchers, and only 200 high level watchers, a number which was fixed unlike with the mid-level and low-level watchers. To become a low-level watcher, there were only two ways. One must either have a direct family member among them and their recommendation, or they must take a certain dare test to prove themselves worthy. Now, the low-level watchers weren’t necessarily fighters. They could be hardworking businessman or just fat rich brats who knew nothing more than eating, sleeping, and fucking. However, if one wanted to become a mid level watcher, they needed to go through the trail, which was called the Demon Trial held in the Demon Dungeon, the one that Jim was currently going through.Anybody among the low level watchers who had successfully managed to leave the lowest level alive were allowed to become the mid level w

“I don’t plan on dying in this place, so don’t worry,” Jim told her and then shoulder-bashed the door with all his strength, breaking his way through and pushing the two opponents on the other side of the door down to the floor. The red-colored smoke of the grenade was still very much floating in the air in that closed space, but the zombified opponents didn’t seem to be affected by it at all as two more of them came rushing into the room. Jim rolled over the door and kept his center of mass low as he sliced the dagger and cut through the ankle of one opponent, making him roughly crash forward on his face. The second zombie jumped onto him and clawed at him and tried to bite him. Despite getting saliva spilled in his face, Jim stabbed the opponent multiple times, but to his shock, the opponent seemed unaffected by it, and he managed to bite on the ear that was previously shot by Stanley. Though Joe had helped him recover the lost part of the ear, the pain from back then was felt aga

The zombie girl put the dagger on Jim’s throat and slightly grinned, “Goodbye, Zero.”“Let go of him,” the little girl stepped out of the bathroom with the grenade in her hand.“Heh,” the zombie girl snickered. “Do you even know how to use it?”The little girl pulled the pin and rolled it toward them, shocking everyone. The zombie girl immediately ran, and Jim also tried to run away, but the two zombies still tried to drag him from behind. They didn’t seem to care about the grenade at all. The little girl ran back into the bathroom.Jim also desperately tried to get the hell away from the grenade, but with the two zombies restricting his movements and not letting go of him even when he kept stabbing their arm with the dagger, there wasn’t much he could do.BOOM~~!!The grenade exploded with Jim only eight feet away from him. The two zombies shielded the impact. Nevertheless, Jim felt the shockwave hit him harder than anything had ever hit him in his life. He was sent into a state of s

“Who are you? Why did you try to kill me?” Jim asked the eight-year-old a straight question as he didn’t feel safe around her. After all, she had thrown a grenade at him, and he could have easily died back then.By God’s grace, he managed to survive. And so, he didn’t want to trust this girl anymore.“You’re doubting me after I saved you?” the little girl said.“Saved me? You call that saving?” Jim’s jaw hardened. “Are you fucking with me right now?”Seeing the anger rising into his eyes, the little girl’s heart shook for a second. “I-I’m Natalie. I’m a fourth grade student in Saint Charles high school. It’s been at least a couple of weeks since I came here. I’m not an adult, so they allowed me to take the survivor path even though I haven’t won 30 fights yet. And they gave me the bombs. I won two fights till now with the help of the bombs.”Jim frowned. “That still doesn’t explain how you were able to easily pull the grenade pin. Where did you get that strength?”“AFter they made me

Jim kept walking down the corridor until he reached rooms starting with Z. He kept going, wanting to see what would come after Z, but to his disappointed rooms started with AA, BB, and so on. “Just how far does this thing go?” Jim could only wonder at this moment. He was about to use the master key to open room number AA1. [Are you sure you want to do that?] Joe’s voice rang in his mind, stopping him. [What if the difficulty level of A1 and AA1 are much different? Will you be able to handle the person inside this room? What if they chose to attack you regardless of what you say?] “If I keep thinking about all those things, then I’ll never be able to open a door,” Jim put the key in the hole and twisted it. He opened the door but didn’t enter. There was a giant man sitting on the floor by the wall. He was so big, Jim remembered Stanley for a second. This man had a thick beard and many scars on his face. He was bulky and muscular like a war horse. “I’ve been so lonely because they w

  • JIM IS HIM   CHAPTER 101

Jim was sitting by a wall inside his new room and was staring at the wall opposite to him. There were four options available for him as per the items fixed the wall suggested. One item was robotic arms. If he were to choose them, his real arms would be fortified by the mechanical power of cyborgs. Another item was robotic legs. This would replace real legs with mechanical ones but would grant a lot of strength in return. The third item was gut strings, where a person’s gut would be alerted so that they would be able to shoot strings out of their belly and use them to travel around and kill people like a spider would. The fourth one was a book titled Ancient Martial Art. “So, I can select one out of those four, huh…” Jim uttered. “Yes,” a robotic female voice spoke through a mic in the wall. “You can think of it as a gift because you’ll need to get stronger if you want to keep winning.” “I don’t want to mess with my body, so I will choose the book,” Jim said. “Ancient Martial Ar

Jim got up to his feet despite the unbearable pain in his chest. Though the old man realized that, he didn’t stop or turn his head back. He kept walking.Jim took a couple of steps forward. The pain proved too much to bear, and he gasped for air and then lost consciousness and collapsed forward. The old man stopped by the door and shut it from the inside. He turned around and observed Jim. “Mm…he’s at least got the determination to not give up. You need that much if you want to reach a high level in the realm of martial arts.” He used his foot to turn Jim’s body to the other side. And then he poked Jim’s chest at multiple spots. “Now that I’ve released his energy channels… he should feel a lot better when he wakes up.”He then picked up the martial art book, went to the side, sat down, and began to read it upside down.A few hours later.Jim opened his eyes, only to see the old man coming out of the bathroom.Jim’s heartbeat raced at once, which made him touch his chest because he was

Some of his best paintings were sold for millions, too.”“Yeah. If we can get our hands on at least three of his paintings, then our lives are settled.”“Why only three? Let’s take everything he has.”“Haha.”The three of them used some kind of electronic device to unlock the electronic lock system and opened the main door of Bob’s house. They quickly entered and locked the door.Straight away, they could see many paintings on the walls, and it lit up their faces.“He’s fucking hanging all these on the walls. What a waste.”“Let’s pack them all and leave before he returns.”They had a large van stationed outside the building, so they were confident about leaving after loading all these paintings in the cover of darkness. They used machinery to efficiently cut the frames and take the paintings ou

THANK YOU:: JIM IS HIM… is finished! Have you enjoyed it? I hope so. I definitely enjoyed writing it as it was challenging. It was supposed to be a 500 chapter long work, but I condensed it and finished it quickly. To all those who read every chapter and reached this page… you have my humble thanks. A big thanks to readers Lynn Casey, Mickey Ritch, and Liwhundebe Emmanuel for their precious votes. A special thanks to Rex Magnus for his lovely review. Much appreciated, Brother. CHARACTERS:: I hope you can take away some memorable characters from this novel. My favorite character is Jim, not because he’s the protagonist, but because he will give me food if I go to his restaurant with empty pockets more than once. He didn't have many friends growing up, but if you ask Shiney, she’ll tell you that he’s the kind you wouldn’t want to end your relationship with once you get to know him. Then again, Shiney might give you a different answer depending on the mood she’s in when you ask her.

Sometime later.Jim and Rena were on a mountain top, enjoying the view of the magnificent forest. Her belly was slightly swollen.A couple of birds flew by.“How do they find food?” Rena curiously asked.“God provides for them,” Jim said.“Yeah, but he doesn’t drop food in their nests, would he?” Rena retorted.“We work like buffaloes, and then buy food, cook it, and then put it in our mouths, chew it, and then our stomach has to digest it,” Jim said. “Just like us, birds also fly about to find grains, bugs, spiders, and… they can see from afar unlike us. They can see a tiny spider that’s dancing on its web under a tree shade from hundreds of meters away. So, yeah, God equipped them with enough skills so they can feed themselves even though they don’t live under a roof like us.”Just then, a brown Bentley arrived at the scene.John stepped out first and then opened the door for her. She got up and said, “Why don’t you also carry me over there because I can’t walk, you know.”“I was ju

Seeing Rena enter the kitchen, Jim also rushed in. He took the coupons from her and then kissed her hand. This was part of the deal, after all.The thing that she requested of him for being a waitress was that he would kiss a part of her body once every time she would enter the kitchen. And she was loving it now as Jim was coming up to her no matter where he was or whatever he was doing and was kissing her in unexpected ways and in unexpected places at times. Luckily, the kitchen was not open for view, or it would have been impossible to have these cuddling and kissing endeavors. As they were hugging, Rena noticed a little creature sneakily enter the kitchen. “I-I-It’s a rat!”“WHAT?” Jim was shocked and angered. How dare a rat enter his restaurant on the day he opened it? And that, too, in the middle of the day? “Where is it?”“I don’t know. It disappeared,” Rena looked around but couldn’t find it.“These things are smart. The moment they think they’re in danger, they freeze,” Jim co

Wearing a clown mask, he was dancing around her chair to make her cry and feel the horror of it.After all, sacrificing after torturing the prey would bring best results for any dark path ritual, so Bob was very excited about it.After finishing his dance, he revealed his hidden knife and stabbed the girl’s head from the top. The knife went right through her skull and came down from the chin. He was grinning; however, a second later, he realized that not a single drop of blood spilled, and the little girl was grinning at him as if she was the predator and he was the prey.Bob quickly stumbled back. “W-Who the hell are you?”“She’s Systa,” a voice came from behind Bob, sending a chill down his spine because he couldn’t even sense the presence of this person. He turned back but didn’t recognize this man who was n

As if that wasn’t enough, when she took the sandwich to the customer, he complained to her saying, “I asked you to mildly heat them in order to keep them soft. “If you want to keep working in this company, then you need to do two things,” Jim said, and Lola already found herself losing her posture. “First thing. Give me my restaurant back.”“Done,” Lola didn’t even hesitate to agree. “What’s the second one?”Jim smiled and said, “There are multiple cafes in this building. I want you to open a new cafe and work as the main cook there. You’ll be taking care of that shop for the next four years. And then I’ll take reviews from the employees. If you get a majority of good votes, then I’ll promote you to a financier level. Otherwise…”Lola was shaking in rage. “You want me to cook and sell food like you and your dad did? Go to hell! I’m never doing that!” she shouted and walked away in haste.Marc followed her, but he pleasantly smiled at Jim.Jim, however, didn’t even bat an eyelid. After Marc and Lola left the building, with the latter looking extremely humiliated, Jim turned to face Rena, “Was I too harsh?”Rena slightly shook her head. “She h

The mobile and handbag in Caylene’s hand dropped. Elisha’s face also froze in a bit of horror.Rena was the only one who was able to move. “W-What is this, Jim?” She stepped forward. She knew who Steve was, so she looked at Steve. “Why are you bowing to my husband? What is this? Why did you call him Lord Jim?”“He’s from the line of kings, so how else would you want me to call him?” Steve replied, still kneeling even though it was hurting him to do that at his age.“F-From the line of Kings? Who? Jim?” Rena looked very confused.“I cannot speak more about the Lord while in his presence,” Steve added. “So, please forgive me for not

On the ground floor, more than a dozen guards were lying on the floor. Some were still conscious but were in too much pain to get back. There were many people standing, but most of them were not even willing to step forward or get themselves involved in whatever was happening.Jim was still holding the broken arm of Austin who was crying blood at this point. Jim had defeated the guards while holding Austin’s arm. And this brought greater pain to Austin. The only reason he didn’t pass out from pain was because Jim bolstered his mind with psychic vivre so that he’d be able to endure it to an extent. Austin was not aware of this. Even though he was able to bear the pain, the pain was still there. He had to withstand the indescribable pain that throbbed all across his arm, especially near his elbow and shoulder.“Y-You monster…” Caylene couldn’t believe what had happened. She was not expecting Jim to defeat the guards so easily. “Just take some money and get lost from here.”“You can’t so
