This morning really was as promised, Jonathan was already sitting pretty in the middle of a field in front of the countryside. There he had brought suitcases of money to pay wages to the villagers who were willing to work on his plantation. Not to forget, his two assistants were also invited along with a lawyer to convince the villagers that what Jonathan was trying to do was real, Jonathan was serious and not lying. What's more, Jonathan is not like Mr. Weldien who will use the village's labor and property for his own benefit.

However... the villagers didn't seem to care.

How could it not be, Jonathan had been sitting there for two hours, and for two hours not a single villager had come to him. In fact, the village suddenly turned quiet. No one seemed to be leaving, or doing any activity. Of course this made Jonathan and some of his staff quite awkward with each other.
