Jager: The Overpowered Hunter

Massive Invasion

"Get out of here!" One of the soldiers shouted once more before he was killed by one of the Ordogs. 

The citizens immediately ran to save themselves. But unfortunately, the Ordogs who were shaped like birdmen immediately hunted down the fleeing citizens. Adam who was carrying Patrick immediately left the chaos. The loser who was good at running away finally showed his skills. He took a shortcut on a small road. His legs kept running until he reached the end of the road. 

"Oh, shit! 

"They're everywhere!" 

Adam ran into the Ordogs again. He turned right and ran away from them. Together with the people, he continued to run towards his office which was not far from the road. 

Unfortunately, the bird-man Ordog chased after him. The claws on the Ordog's legs slashed at both of Adam's shoulders, causing him to fall forward. And the cat also fell and escaped from his hands.

"Patrick!"

Unfortunately, the cat ran off without him. It seemed that Patrick really knew how to return a favor to his master. He was the most loyal of cats, but in the opposite sense. 

"Don't kill me!"

"Go away!"

The ordog took out a 30-centimeter-long claw in one of his hands. It immediately thrust the claw into Adam's face while screaming like a loud chirping bird.

"No!" Adam closed his eyes. 

And then... nothing happened. Adam felt confused as to why the Ordog's voice was no longer heard. When he opened his eyes, there was someone standing in front of him. The tall man had his back to him. And he strangled the Ordog with just one hand. Not long after, red flames came out of his hand and burned the entire Ordog's body until there was nothing left.

"Are you alright?" The man turned his head. 

"You... you're a Jager from the elite division; Starfire!" 

Adam was very surprised by the appearance of a Jager like Starfire. Hee was one of the Ordog hunters from the elite division. Usually the elite Jagers would only appear when the emergency had reached the level of a national disaster. 

"Wake up, we have to retreat!" 

"What? Wa–wait!”

Starfire pulled back the man's shirt. Using her power to manipulate red flames, the man launched himself into the air using the booster flames in his legs. 

"Wait here. I'll take care of them first." Starfire put Adam down like a cat that had just been picked up. 

"Wait! What's going on?! How can a dimensional portal be that big? Why are there so many Ordogs coming out of it?" Adam felt curious. 

"Invasion. The dimensional portals you saw there are in every city in this country. They even appeared in every city in the world. This is a massive invasion. As far as I know, this has only happened once before, during the first invasion. 100 years ago." Starfire immediately left Adam on the terrace of her office building. 

Adam's face looked pale. His whole body was trembling. He felt an overwhelming sense of fear and horror. The night became very tense. No one was asleep. The sky in the city seemed to shine brightly with explosions. 

"Get inside the building!" A high-ranking soldier asked the citizens in front of the building to go inside.

The senior Jagers from level D to B created a barricade in the form of an energy dome in an area the size of the building. Adam also entered the building with the other citizens. He looked for a place to sit down and calm down. 

"Adam!"

"Jonny?"

"You're here too?"

"Yes, I'm... here."

He didn't expect to meet his coworker. Jonny seemed to have a wound in his eye. Adam knew that his friend must have fought hard to escape the chaos out there. 

"Are we going to survive? According to the Jagers this is a large-scale invasion. And for all I know, invasions like this only happened a hundred years ago." Jonny was scared. He was scared to death.

"I don't know. Suddenly the portal appeared in the middle of the city. Everyone died. Then they attacked blindly. Is this a dream? If it is, I need to wake up immediately!" Adam felt like everything he was experiencing right now was either a hallucination or a dream. 

"Adam, we have to leave now! We need to get out of this city!" Jonny urged his friend to act desperately. 

"Don't be stupid, Starfire just told me that this is happening all over the city! Even the whole world!" Adam felt there was no way out. They were trapped like rats.

"Are you sure?! Oh my gosh! Then this is the end of the world!" Jonny let go of his resolve. He could only sit beside his friend with a very pale face.

Two losers are cornered in front of reality. They knew that their lives would end soon. Both of them can only stay silent while thinking about the past. All they had in their minds right now were memories of when the world was still fine. No explosions, Ordogs, invasions, dead people, and apocalypse. 

On the other hand, a 400-meter-tall Ordog had just come out from inside a dimensional portal. It looked like a black gorilla wearing armor. Its roar sounded absolutely torturous to the eardrums. It destroyed all the Jager troops that tried to attack it. Based on its size, the gorilla Ordog was one of the Ordogs that came from the first dimension and had level S. It was one of Gideon's generals; the first-dimensional Ordog king. 

"You insect!"

"Get out of my way!" 

The ordog opened its mouth wide. Enormous energy gathered inside his mouth. Then it quickly shot out red laser energy that instantly burned and destroyed everything in front of it. Buildings, shops, parks, people, everything vanished without a trace when hit by that laser. 

"He's an S-level Ordog! Be careful!" Starfire approached. He used his Mana and created a giant meteor rock made of a red blob of fire. 

The fire meteor was as big as the creature's body. But the black gorilla didn't stay still. This time he used his chest. His chest, which was covered in black armor, began to glow reddish-black. The glow grew brighter and brighter and was ready to fire. 

"Feel this!" Starfire shouted very loudly. He threw the meteor at the Ordog. 

On the other side, an even bigger energy shot was also aimed directly at Starfire. In an instant, the two huge energies collided with each other. Huge explosions occurred around Ordog the gorilla and Starfire. But the energy shot from Ordog was much stronger. The energy shot erased Starfire's existence and destroyed half of the administration building. 

"Huh?! No way!" Adam was surprised by the attack. 

The people taking refuge inside the building were instantly erased and vanished without a trace. All that remained were the burnt parts of the building and the debris that had been reduced to ashes. Fortunately, Adam and Jonny survived the destruction. However, several senior Jagers in charge of installing the energy dome were also killed. Everything was gone, even the protective dome. 

"Remember who you really are... you must!"

A soft voice sounded softly in Adam's ear.

"Who is it?" He felt confused. 

"Remember who you are! Then you can fight them!" The voice appeared again. 

"Who am I?" Adam felt confused by the voice whispering to him. Was he missing something about who he was?
