Chapter One: Winston Group in Alderfall?

"How could you do that to my daughter?!" Henry Gates yelled in anger.

Jason was speechless.

"My wife came back drunk last night, and as her husband, I helped her undress," He explained.

"Just so you know, non-consensual rights are also considered rape even in a marriage!" Eloise's Mom yelled as she patted Eloise's back.

"I want you to divorce my daughter immediately!" Mr. Gates yelled.

Jason frowned.

"That's enough Dad! I can't believe you would suggest that! After everything he did for us!" Elaina, Eloise's sister yelled.

"Shut up brat!" Mrs. Gates countered in an angry tone.

"No, I won't, Mom. You all seem to have forgotten that his Ten Million Dollars investment was what kept the company from going bankrupt," She said.

"Are you insane, Elaina? How can you support someone who hurt your sister?!" Eloise yelled in fury. "Jason might have invested, but the reason the company is where it is today is because of me, and not his staying at home and doing nothing! Got it?!"

Jason was disappointed at the Gates family's change.

At first, he had married Eloise so he could repay her Grandfather for saving his life in the past, but now, it seemed that the marriage was meaningless.

Just then, the door opened and a man walked in.

Mr and Mrs Gates hurried towards him. Eloise joined the couple, hugging the stranger passionately.

"You are Jason White, right?" The man asked.

"Yes, I am, and you are?" He asked back.

He moved towards Jason.

"I am Lloyd Richardson, President, and Heir to the Richardson Group," He said, extending his arm for a handshake.

As Jason reached out for the handshake. Lloyd pulled his arm away.

"On second thoughts, I think it's best to avoid physical contact so that your filth won't rub off on me," He said with a smirk on his face.

Laughter erupted from the Gates family. Only Elaina looked displeased. She walked away in disappointment.

“I don't have time to play such childish acts with you,” Jason said and turned away.

“Yeah, right, like you have something better to do other than the chores at home,” Mr. Gates remarked.

Everyone laughed once more.

"Ahh!" Lloyd exclaimed, a thought coming into his head. "You know, since you only do house chores here, I suggest you come work as a security guard in my company," he said mockingly.

"That's so thoughtful of you Lloyd," Eloise said and turned to Jason. "If I were you I would accept the offer, you know, so you wouldn't end up on the street after the divorce."

"Even if I was job hunting, what makes you think I would want to work for a small company like the Richardson Group?" Jason asked.

"You are such a fool, Jason. I'm sure you don't know this, but Richardson Group is about to receive an investment from Winston Group, the number one country in Alderfall! They will be investing One Billion Dollars into my company!" He yelled.

Jason was surprised. He hadn't been involved in the Winston Group's operations for some time and didn't expect the business to expand from Vexton to Alderfall.

"You don't have to waste your precious time on someone like him. He doesn't deserve it," Eloise said as she locked arms with Lloyd.

Mrs. Gates walked up to them and joined forces with her daughter.

"Exactly, Lloyd, there are a lot more pressing matters at hand. For instance, I can't wait to have a handsome and brilliant man like you as a son-in-law. We can talk about it as we eat breakfast," She added.

Jason knew that his mother-in-law's actions were designed to embarrass him and make him seek a divorce. Since they were heartless, he wouldn't feel guilty about being ungrateful.

"If you all want me to agree to the divorce, I will do it. But on one condition," He said.

"And what is that?" Mr. Gates asked curiously.

"You have to return the Ten Million Dollars I invested. " He said.

Eloise laughed out.

"Don't be delusional, Jason. You are not getting a cent from us," She stated.

"And you should face reality, young man, we could easily kick you out of the house. So right now, you should be careful of what you say," Mr. Gates added.

They were about to head to the dining room when Lloyd stopped.

"Oh! And don't forget, Jason, my offer is still on the table," he said before leaving.

Jason smirked as he headed for his room.

When he got there, he dialed a number, and it was immediately answered.

"Hello, Sir. It's nice to finally hear from you," A woman said to him.

"Same here, Angela," He replied.

Angela was the Head of the Winston Group's Overseas Headquarters. But he didn't have time to catch up on memories.

"I heard that Winston Branch is in Alderfall and is at the top of the food chain. Is this true?" He asked.

"Yes, Sir, it is," She replied.

"I'm proud of you all, Angela," He said.

"No, Sir, we only followed the strategies you have taught us over the years," She responded in a calm tone.

He smiled. Now he had a card to play.

"I need you to tell the Head of the Alderfall Branch that I'll be there soon, okay? Also, send me the address." He instructed.

"Okay, Sir, I understand," She replied, and he ended the call.

When the text came in, he hurried downstairs.

"Are you finally going out

to look for a job?" Lloyd teased the moment he set his eyes on him.

But Jason ignored him and left the house.
