In the afternoon I went to see Paulina who was now conscious. Although her expression was pale she seemed better now. At least there was no deathly aura around her.

"You feel different," she sized me up and said. "There's something very peculiar about you right now."

Can she tell? I asked myself in surprise as my facial muscles quivered. I replied with a smile, "Things are getting better for me."

"You've won a million dollar award?" she asked me with her eyebrows raised.
