Chapter 42: Exclusivity Versus Expensivity!

As Michael Wonderstone set the auction in motion, the tensions in the atmosphere became palpable. These wealthy folks were about to engage in the most brutal nonviolent war in the world of the elites.

Auctions and bidding as such were usually a tug of war for these folks and although it usually ends peacefully and well-civilized, the aftermaths are sometimes dire. Conflicts could arise from the event during the bidding for several reasons and it was also an avenue for participants to piss off each other or just demonstrate their financial superiority over one another.

Many who were there had a person or two they placed on their radar. And although Michael so brilliantly mentioned that exclusivity was far more important to them than expensivity, most of the guests didn't care about the exclusive items he offered, all they cared about was ousting their rivals.
