The hospital waiting room was quiet, save for the muffled sounds of conversation and the soft hum of fluorescent lights overhead. Joe Cole sat beside Mercury, his expression grim as they waited for better reports on John's condition. She hoped to press the case further but was interrupted by the doctor who asked them to wait outside while they performed some treatments on John. Together, they sat in the waiting room and locked hands together, Mercury leaned on his shoulder, and they waited for the arrival of John's parents.
