Chapter 34

John Draken walked through a series of turns, following the increasing footsteps of Luciano deeper into the farm.

They could hear the shouts of men calling for Luciano. John could hear the anger in their voices.

“I'm trying to prevent an unnecessary fight for the sake of my child,” Luciano said, pointing to a path of clearing that led to a silo for storing grains. “Hide here till I've been able to talk to Gravano and Escobar. I'll try to get them to reason and talk,”

John looked from the sillo to the man standing in front of him, his heart warmed.

“I understand but we Drakens don't run from anyone. We'll face them head on,”

Luciano could feel the determination in John's gaze so he took a step back and nodded. “I'd direct them here,”

Within a few minutes the high voices in the distance drew closer till Garvano and Escobar stood in front of John with all the men, both John and his opponents, guns pointed at each other.
