chapter 5

The morning began with screams Aries had tossed and turned all night.

He had an interview at oxford university today, and it required twenty-four hours of exclusive rest for his brain to function properly, but last night he barely got an hour of good sleep.

His father and stepmother were preparing for their weekend business trip.

Greg played loud music all night and since Aries room was the only one that wasn't sound proof he heard it all night.

The bastard literally played rock and roll most of the night.

Viana's snore didn't help the situation either, it was currently 3:00am and he was cranky as hell.

Someone knocked his room door and he groaned in annoyance, dragging his feet towards the door. He opened it to see Suzy a little sleepy eyed.

He bent down, picking her up in his arms. "Suzy darling, is something wrong?" Aries asked, noticing how early it was.

Her big sleepy eyes looked up at him "I'm thirsty," she mumbled. He rocked her, taking a stroll to the kitchen as he fetched her a glass of water.

She gulped it down in seconds.

Yawning with a sleepy voice, she looked at his bandaged hand, reaching over to touch it. "Does it hurt?" she asked, her eyes sad.

Aries shook his head with a smile. He lied through his teeth, "it doesn't hurt, I promise".

"You don't need to lie to me. I know it hurts and I'm sorry that Viana's so mean to you," she apologized.

This made Aries's heart to ache painfully. She shouldn't be the one apologizing he thought.

He took her in his arms and silently took her to her room.

Tucking her under the sheets, she held onto his hand. " Please stay with me," she pleads.

Reluctantly, he agreed to stay, holding her hand.

"You must be get comfortable in this house" his stepmother's voice woke him up, with too much force.

His neck hurt like shit. He moaned as he stretched, checking his watch to see it was some minutes past seven. He jumped up in shock. Suzy was in her mother's arms.

His stepmother looked at him with a venomous glare in her black eyes. "You think I will let you make it out of here, you just watch". She threatened him.

Aries was in a hurry to care about threats right now. He ran down the stairs into the dining room, when his father's newspaper flew straight, smacking his forehead.

Viana snickered, but quickly hid it. "I'm not training you to become a disobedient animal," Aries' father, warned in a quiet tune.

As he used a napkin to cleaning his hands.  "Pardon me father, it was my mistake" He quickly apologized hoping his father would spare him today.

His stepmother cleared her throat, bringing a mirror out of her purse. "I think you should wash the cars today, all fifteen of them this morning".

The words that came out of her mouth horrified Aries. Tears filled his eyes. "Yes, mother," he replied, tight-lipped as everyone stood up from the table.

They all exited the house, leaving him behind. He went to the garage, checking his watch.

The interview was in an hour. If he could finish in thirty minutes, he could make it. He quickly washed the cars one by one, making sure not to scratch them.

He sighed in exhaustion as he washed the last car he had twenty-five minutes to get to the interview.

Dashing, into his room, washing his face. He threw on his tattered only suit, spraying breath mint he picked up his files and his washed up shoes. He ran, grabbing the door handle, only to realize they locked him in.

Bile rose in his throat in horror as he realized they locked him in. He breathed hard and fast, his chest rising and fall. He tried to force it open, but to no avail.

Shit, as in fucking shit; he swore.  He ran to the back door. It was as well.

Locked, he looked at his time for fifteen minutes. He got a screwdriver and unscrewed the knobs of the air vent.

Crawling in, he coughed as dust filled his nostrils, suffocating him.

He found an opening, unscrewing it. He jumped into the bedroom of a Mrs Smith who was having sex with a man who wasn't Mr Smith.

The shock on their faces was enough to tell him to run for it. He quickly ran out of their house as Mrs Smith chased him with a frying pan. He was panting and sweating on reaching the elevator.

It was full; he swore breathless deciding to run down the stairs.

Running, panting and sweating, he tried to stop a cab and almost got hit. "Would you get your fucking ass off the road, boy?"

An old man cussed at him driving off. He finally stopped a cab. It was a minute to nine. He tapped his feet anxiously. He worked too hard to lose this opportunity.

The cab stopped, stuck in traffic. Aries felt like he was losing his mind.

Aries paid the cab and ran through the traffic jam on the road. He didn't notice the car coming from the right with an absurd amount of speed; the car hitting him.

Flying in the air he fell. Rolling on the ground for some minutes, his ears were ringing.

His vision was blurry, but he couldn't sit still at this moment.

Rising to his feet, he staggered as someone asked his questions with worry. "Oh, my goodness I didn't see you there are you okay?" the woman asked with concern, nodding he limped away.

Finally he got to the building, but the security stopped him. "I'm sorry, young man, but you can't go in looking like that. "

Frustration welled in the pit of his stomach "I have an interview and I'm late. Please let me go in," he begged.

They refused to budge, so he ran through them with force as he got to the interview room the last student had just finished her interview.

He limped inside. The shock on their faces as they saw him was clear.

A man dressed impeccably in a navy blue suit stared at him intensely with dark eyes before satin. "You're late Young Man. We are done with the interview for today"
