While Ru Weimin was in the midst of contemplating, Qi Sying vomited once more. This time, Ru Weimin did not hesitate to come closer and support the youth.
Even though their interactions were indirect and primarily consisted of Ru Weimin discreetly stealing glances at Jun Zihao, he still felt he had a duty to care for the young man. As the young man puked solid air, he stroked his back, trying to relieve pressure points and make his retching less painful.
This small gesture helped Qi Sying gradually recover. The contractions in his stomach became less intense, and he no longer had the sensation of his stomach being ripped out. Ru Weimin assisted him wash his face by dabbing the dripping sweat from Qi Sying's drenched forehead with his handkerchief.
Qi Sying was still slowly getting out of the pain and didn't notice the calm gentleness coming from the ice cold man.
"Are you... Are you feeling fine now?" Ru Weimin asked, almost making his voice crack. These would be his first words to the young man.
Qi Sying flinched from the voice. He had heard Ru Weimin's voice before, but not as close as this. He shrunk his head a little while lightly nodding.
"I am fine."
"What happened to you? Are you poisoned?"
Ru Weimin could not think of any reason why Jun Zihao vomited. He couldn't smell alcohol coming from him, so he was certain he was not drunk.
"Um... no."
Qi Sying was still facing the mirror with Ru Weimin on his back. Even though he can't see the person behind, he can view the expression of the other man from the mirror. He was able to see the intensity of the look that was directed at him. This kind of stare makes him feel a little threatened.
"Then, are you sick? Want me to call the hospital?"
Ru Weimin already had the phone in his ear when Qi Sying turned around to face the man directly. His striking blue eyes met the icy cold of Ru Weimin's, feeling a link connecting them. Ru Weimin's breath shortened. The sudden eye contact almost made his heart stop.
"I... I am really fine, seriously. I... I just got drunk from drinking too much wine. Right, I am drunk!" Qi Sying obviously lied. He knows Ru Weimin will not believe him, but this is the only way that he can avoid suspicions. "I am not used to drinking, so I vomited out."
"Are you sure?" You think Ru Weimin will just humor you like that?
"Yes, I am! I am very sure!" Well, just suck it up!
For the first time, Qi Sying started feeling anxious. He was not frightened when faced by the higher-ups; he could even step on San Zhao's face if he was allowed. Qi Sying will never get afraid of something he can grasp.
Yet, the oppression coming from this man has made him feel numb.
Is this how the world's protagonist's halo works? If so, then it was really affecting him! Even as a foreign soul, Qi Sying would want to be in any other place, just not beside this beast.
"Is that so?" Ru Weimin nodded. If he can't make Jun Zihao say it, then he has other ways to know. "You want me to get you some water?"
Qi Sying looked at Ru Weimin strangely. This person wanted to help him?
"Um... there is no need to-"
"You want to drink medicine, right? You can't take it without drinking water," Ru Weimin pointed out.
Qi Sying was surprised. How did he know he was about to drink medicine?
Little did Qi Sying know that Ru Weimin had been observing him all the time, secretly. The CEO had been monitoring him because, one, - he was a potential spy, second — he was interested in watching him, and lastly, — he highly resembled his favorite dog.
Also, earlier, Qi Sying was already clenching the packet of tablets in his palm before he withheld it inside his pocket as he vomited.
Ru Weimin did not wait for the response and merely went to a passing staff member to ask for a cup of warm water. He then returned to the restroom with the glass and delivered it to the dumbfounded Qi Sying.
Seeing he was already exposed, Qi Sying took the medicine out of his pockets and plucked a few pieces. The number of tablets he had taken made Ru Weimin frown. Taking three capsules in one go -- isn't he afraid of overdose?
"T-thank you sir," Qi Sying said. He placed the meds back in his pockets. He looked up at the frosty eyes of the CEO and sincerely showed his gratitude.
Ru Weimin's only response was a nod, his gaze still fixed on Qi Sying. The paleness of the youth receded as his complexion started to become rosy red again. There was no longer the feeling of death hovering over the thin body.
He didn’t want to stay any longer, so he escaped from Ru Weimin by telling him his companions were waiting for him and that he should hurry out. Ru Weimin's nod confirmed his approval, so Qi Sying ran as fast as possible just in case the person changes his mind.
When Qi Sying managed to arrive at the front of the private room, he almost breathed a sigh of relief. He clutched his chest to support his breakdown, feeling lightheaded from the encounter. He shook his head slightly to erase the thoughts and straightened his clothes.
He cleared his throat a few times before pushing the door open, arranging a jovial expression with a slight embarrassment. The system had just informed him of the reason for which Wen Yuan used to explain his reason for running out.
"System, I didn't know that Ru Weimin would be here. Why didn't you warn me?" Qi Sying asked in his mind.
He has been scared witless that his secret will be exposed. Thankfully, Ru Weimin was still as ignorant as ever. Well, sort of.
「This part is not included in the script. The original Jun Zihao will never meet Ru Weimin since he treated the Creative Department out to a cheap restaurant. But since the host altered the setting, the possibility of deviation will be high, thus meeting the protagonist in this place.」
Is that so? Jun Zihao accepted the reason since it is logical.
"Then, can you monitor Ru Weimin's action starting today?"
The system created a cold, metal whirring noise in his head before it responded back.
「I'm sorry, host, but there's a restriction on the information since the host's existence is lower than the protagonist.」
"There's such a thing?"
「Host can only gain access to the characters with roles that are lower or have the same level. The protagonist is the highest-ranking character in this world, so the host is obviously lower. The host can only gain access after accumulating a sufficient number of points.」
Then it means he can see the movements of everyone except for Ru Weimin. Qi Sying did not get discouraged, however. If he can't see Ru Weimin's actions, then he can just monitor the people around him.
Qi Sying happily returned to the group and continued their merry making as if he hadn't experienced a horrifying event earlier.
On the other hand, Ru Weimin returns to the public diner where he was having dinner with his little sister, Ru Rou. The young lady was the same age of Jun Zihao. She was with her soon-to-be husband, who had just arrived from overseas.
The groom was a close friend of Ru Weimin, so he wasn't worried about leaving his adorable sister to the man. In fact, the two of them established their relationship when they were still young. The couple was chatting when they noticed the older brother was coming.
"Brother, what took you so long? We already finished the ice cream," younger sister Rou complained.
"Just greeted someone in the restroom," Ru Weimin replied, not hiding any gentleness towards a family member. He sat down across from the couple.
"Someone you know? Oh, isn't it unusual for you to recognize them," the sister giggled. "Is it a woman?"
"Little Rou, why would there be a woman in the male restroom?" The groom pointed out.
"Yah, right," younger sister Rou just realized.
Ru Weimin could have returned much earlier, but he first settled a call. He contacted the hospital where Jun Zihao was sent. From what he can remember, San Zhao told him Jun Zihao had a private doctor from that hospital. He wanted to "ask" that doctor what Jun Zihao's health status was.
Well, he didn't want to say it? Ru Weimin had a hundred ways of knowing it. This first step was just one out of the hundred.
Thank you for reading my work! Please support me with your gems and don't forget to rate the story! Thank you! Have a nice day!
It was the weekend. Qi Sying was supposed to come to work, but since the CEO would not be present, his presence would not be necessary. Even though he was Ru Weimin's personal secretary, the one holding the "legitimate" position was still San Zhao, so he had no right to complain. Qi Sying happily accepted the rest day. Who didn't want to have it, anyway? It might also be treated as a day off without getting harassed by those bullied. Besides, he promised to visit the ancestral house this weekend, so he very much seized the chance. As for the overbearing CEO, Ru Weimin was sincerely releasing his ice-cold aura without restraint as he sat on a small couch. San Zhao, the person standing next to him, was unfazed by the pressure and kept his gaze fixed on the subject of their attention. Even still, the other men in the room were frightened to death by the overwhelming presence. Even the most trained guards can't stand up for more than half an hour, so how
"Then, he should have an operation," San Zhao muttered. "Surely, he scheduled for one, right?" "Yes," Doctor Zhao said, nodding. "However, he wanted to have it after three months." For whatever reasons, nobody knows. Doctor Zhao could only assume that there was something in these three months that made Jun Zihao want to postpone his operation. It was such a concise number, which usually makes people suspicious. Anyway, the three months given were enough to collect resources. They could not become hasty and do things without thinking properl
Kabedon – Qi Sying learned this word when he accidentally overheard the conversation of his female cousins when he visited the ancestral house last weekend. According to them, it is a Japanese word that represents the action of pinning someone on the wall whilst caging them. It's a common romantic move in romance shoujo mangas, where the male lead pins the female lead to the wall. For the reason for such an action, they said that it is to have a close encounter with someone, either trying to intimidate the other or just doing it for fun. But the most particular reason is that it is close enough for two people to kiss. Yeah, right, like pinning someone on the wall and kissing them. You are welcome to be intimidated, but I will still kiss you. "Do you really ha
"System, I think I have some heart problems." The system who was called out: ??? 「Is the host not feeling well?」 "I'm not sure," Qi Sying placed his hand on his chest, his eyes lost in thought. The tight feeling in his chest was gone. It seems like it only occurred in a moment. "I am probably just anxious." Ru Weimin caught Jun Zihao dazedly staring in midair, his one hand plastered on his chest. Is this guy feeling something bad on his chest? Ru Weimin has inadvertently summoned Jun Zihao. The young man knew his name and proceeded to the table. What should they do now that they're face to face? Even though Ru Weimin is watching Jun Zihao, he doesn't want the other person to know his secret pleasures so he pretend
That shouldn't be the case, should it? San Zhao took a deep breath, trying to appear professional and sensible at the same time. Two persons pressed up against each other does not mean that they are kissing, does it? Well, in many cases, it couldn't just be kissing. It's also likely that they're merely talking about something, perhaps a big secret that required them to get that close to avoid leaking the information. Yes, that's most likely it. There's no way his boss and his business opponent's son are kissing in the office! The secretary gingerly knocked on the glass door, clearing his throat lightly. He didn't dare to stare accusingly at the two gentlemen and pretended he couldn't notice anything wrong. He proceeded towards his boss as he usually does, disregarding Ru Weimin's disdainful scowl. After all, he had been Ru Weimin's secretary for so long. He's already immune to a lot of things related to his co
Jun Zihao had become very become busy for the past few weeks. According to the memories from the original soul, it would take at least two weeks to finalize the product proposal. With the assistance of the Creative Department's seniors, it should be possible to complete the ordeal in one month and move on to physical fabrication the following month. Despite how simple it sounded, Jun Zihao was the busiest during this season. He must not only evaluate the proposals and requirements for the product, but he must also travel to several locations to scout materials until they find a source that is both inexpensive and efficient. Only after contracting with their supplier did his load lessen and have the staff check on the progress of the procurement while he concentrated on the presentation. Without the terrible plagiarizing incident, Jun Zihao would have shone the brightest on the conference. However, with Qi Sying handling things at his pace, the progress of the project became quest
Jun Zihao is indistinguishable at that time. His black hair has been colored yellow and green, and he wore hefty make-up on his face, creating a smokey effect around his eyes adorned with a few silver stickers while his lips were painted black. His thick eyebrows are sort of trimmed to form a crisscross contour, added by a piercing on both ends. If there is anything that is excessive on his body, that is his piercings. His brows were pierced, and he wore two little red buttons as embellishments. His nose and tongue were not spared, as they were shackled with either a small chained diamond brace or a ring-like gem. But the most remarkable place is his ears, which are almost encased with jewelry. There were various types, of all sizes and colors. One would want to know and ask if his ears are heavy because of the shocking number of accessories dangling. His appearance at that time did not resemble anything from his current smart appearance. It nearly gave the impression that they we
However, Jun Zihao's situation is not promising. Although he was still conscious, this did not guarantee that everything was fine. He was taken immediately to the ICU by Ru Weimin to have his body checked. His body must have encountered something to cause such a severe reaction. It's better to be safe than sorry, so check it. Jun Zihao, on the other hand, experienced a drifting sensation. Although he was unable to describe it precisely, he felt as though something heavy had been removed from his body. Or, in some other way, the weight of his body was gently dissipating, just as a soul would gradually depart from its body. It wasn't a good experience. Such vulnerability was something Jun Zihao loathed. He doesn't want to be a burden. The want to repay all the kindness shown to him should be coming from the original soul's subconscious. And the only way he could have felt worthy was by giving himself up. He believed that he was unworthy of treatment. Ruminating through the previou
