“Forgus! Forgus!” Flora paused for a while and said, “Where has he gone to?”
She continued her search to the point of going into his room but he was not there. Anglo was close to the room with one of the female teachers discussing.“Do you know the whereabout of Forgus?” Flora said to him.“No. is anything the matter?“Help me look around for him, I need him to do something for me.”They both went in search of Forgus, entering different places in the vicinity calling on him but no response, he was nowhere to be found. Then Flora proceeded to the rocky part of the field in further search of him, he always goes there whenever he wants to be alone. Seeing him from a distance, she just stared with wide opened eyes and didn’t shake. After some moment of gazing, Anglo came there and was about to call him, she used her hand to close his mouth. They watched him closely without saying a word, then they went back.Later that day, Forgus was with Mr. Sarma in the library;“How’s it going with you, young man?”“I’m quite well but a little confused.”“How’s the lady, hope she’s alright?”“She sure is. I was with her a couple of hours ago.”He portrayed a fainted smile and said, “I see, you guys are getting along.”At this point, Forgus became weak, then he walked to a chair and sat down.He said, “She wants me to leave this place with her once we are done with learning and I don’t think my parents will let me.”Sarma walked up to him, held him on the shoulders and said, “It’s well my boy, don’t think much about it. Besides, you still have about a year to go; just focus on learning and maintain a good relationship with her.”“What if she brings up the matter again? I don’t know what to reply her. I love her and wouldn’t want to lose her.”“You won’t lose her, okay?”Forgus stood up and hugged Mr. Sarma tightly.“As I’ve told you before, whenever you have a problem in your practice let me know so I will put you through. I delight in young people who wants to learn sorcery though I don’t do it anymore for some reason.” Sarma reassures Forgus. ***It’s in the heat of the day at Karmagha, Chief Manda’Uke came visiting the king.“Manda’Uke, the great goddess brought you here at this crucial time. I’ve been having sleepless night for a couple of days now, I’m really disturbed.”“What troubles the king? Can I share the burden with you my king?”“The state of Karmagha gives me concern, at this point I don’t know what to do again. You are aware of how I’ve been feeding the nobles from the royal farm and I do not fail to provide for the commoners once in a while.”“Yes, my king. You’ve done wonderfully well, that we can’t dispute.”“Then I ask this question, when will all these be over? When will Karmagha be Karmagha again, Chief?”“My King, those questions are questions of one who has lost faith in the great goddess. Our salvation is now near, we must not be weary nor faint. It’s eighteen years now since the birth of the chosen one, he must have been fully equipped to be able to face the evil sorceress and lift up this curse from the land.”“That’s true wise friend, I will send for Magnus soon to inquire the state of the child. What’s the cause of the noise outside?”“I wouldn’t know my King, maybe we should go take a look.”The king and Manda’Uke climbed the stairs, came out to the balcony and discovered multitude of people glamouring to gain access into the palace. As the saw the king, the glamouring reduced and a certain man lifted his voice bringing their grievances to the king.“O king live forever. It’s almost two decades since a curse was placed on this land; the people are suffering, our land is not yielding as expected, people go as far to the neighbouring villages to get water. My king we’ve endured this enough that’s why we are here for solution.”The crowd began to make noise in support of what the man had said. Another voice was heard from the crowd.“This thing has to be addressed today, our wives are barren, hardly will you see a child on the street. Any child seen on the street is not from Karmagha, we are tired. What is the way forward? What is the hope of the once great kingdom Karmagha?”Another person from the crowd said, “Our people are dying of starvation, our farmland is not producing anything; we struggle to get seedlings and plant but nothing is coming out of it.”Someone interrupted and said, “Only the rich ones who are able to buy lands in the neighbouring kingdoms are able to get produce and sell it to us at a high cost.”The multitude echoed, “We are tired and need solution.”The noise became so intense that the king had to beckon on the people to be calm to allow him address them. The clamour was so much that they ran towards the gate to break it and gain access into the palace. The guards immediately rushed to secure the gate and move the people away but the multitude kept thronging to get themselves in. Some persons who were not strong enough to withstand the pressure of the push were stampede; it was indeed a great uproar that made the King covered with confusion. He tried beckoning on them with the hands to be calm but the more he did so, the more the noise. The King walked back and forth with his hands at his back, his eyes kept blinking as he wandered looking above like one expecting to see something. The clamouring didn’t stop but increased as they kept banging the gate.Chief Manda’Uke tapped the king to allow him speak.“Dear people of Karmagha I greet you.” There was relative calmness. He continued, “The king is not in oblivion of the ordeal in Karmagha and I must tell you that he has been doing his best to manage the situation. We are all aware how he’s been of assistance in the area of food to everybody in this Kingdom though he’s also affected. As for the curse on the land, it will soon be lifted: the goddess Saramandra had assured. Don’t lose faith in Saramandra, remember the goddess showers us with rain at least three to four times in a year. This is because of her love for this Kingdom. The chosen one will soon surface, when I say soon, I mean very soon. He will defeat the evil sorceress and return the kingdom to its normal state. Our salvation is near now.”There was distant charter among the people“He’s right.” “I think we ought to have faith in the great goddess, if she has been showing us mercy to send rainfall, then she will certainl
“Forgus, let’s not do this, I don’t think it’s a nice idea.” Ella said.“Don’t you want to view the outside world? You’ve been here for years and I’ve spent all my live in this place. I need to see how other people fare.”“Isn’t it better you talk with Professor Magnus about this? He’s your dad, I bet he’d listen to you.”“I don’t think so, he wouldn’t want me out of this place all my life. Shhhhhh! There’s someone approaching here let’s hide.”They both hid themselves behind the flowers. Mr. Sarma walked towards that place, looked around as though he was in search of something then proceeded back to the library.“Phew! Thank goodness were not caught, let’s return back immediately.”“I really need to see the outside world, please support me and go with me.”“Fine. But then, we don’t have the key to leave this institute. Have you forgotten that’s surrounded with spell and no one knows it except Professor Magnus and his wife? There’s really no way we can get out of this place. Let’s get
“It’s already getting dark and there’s no trace of Forgus and Ella, it’s high time we moved out of this institute in search of them.” Margret said to her husband.“How could they be able to pass through the boundary spell? They don’t know the spell.” Magnus said with confusion written all over his being.“It’s not the time to begin to think how they got the spell; it’s better we start looking for them immediately before another person gets them and they will expose the existence of this place leading to greater danger.”“You’re right darling.” He moved close to her and kissed her on the forehead, then hugged her tightly.“We have to move quickly.” She interrupted the moment. They moved quietly to the boundary with their lamps making sure no one sees them. However, Mr. Sarma who walked out of the library saw them and quickly hid himself to ascertain what they were up to. They used the magical word to remove the boundary spell and immediately dived into the thin air. They quickly landed

His robes flowed like a gentle breeze, a blend of blue and silver reflecting his affinity for air. With a commanding presence, he addressed the assembly."Welcome, esteemed students, to the zenith of your journey—the Institute's Induction Ceremony!" Anglo's voice resonated, capturing the attention of the hall. The training arena hummed with eager anticipation as Forgus found himself surrounded by fellow students in the Fire group. The rhythmic flicker of flames at the center of the arena cast a mesmerizing, warm glow across their excited faces. Joseph stood beside Forgus, their shared enthusiasm evident in their exchanged grins."Today, my young flames," Professor Simon's voice resonated, "we delve into the intricate dance of fire magic."The exchange of a quick glance between Forgus and Joseph held unspoken determination, a silent pact to immerse themselves in the art of fire manipulation."Embrace the flames," Professor Simon continued, his voice steady like a heartbeat of a fire. "Feel the energy within you, an ember waiting to burst into a blazing inferno."Closing his eyes, Forgus surrendered to the sensations enveloping him. The whispers of fire brushed his thoughts, a beckoning call to command their untamed power."Visualize the flames responding to your will." Professor Simon guided
The Institute's library was a haven of hushed murmurs and the scent of ancient parchment. The soft illumination of enchanted lanterns cast a warm and inviting ambiance, illuminating row upon row of shelves that held the accumulated wisdom of generations. In a quiet corner, Forgus and Joseph were engrossed in the study of an ancient tome that delved into the history of fire magic.Forgus' finger traced the intricate illustrations on the brittle pages, his brow furrowed in concentration. "Joseph, can you imagine the raw power wielded by the fire mages of old? Their stories are woven with flames that consumed kingdoms and forged empires."Joseph leaned closer, his voice low as if sharing a secret. "True, but it's not just about wielding power, it's about understanding it. Like harnessing the power of a wildfire without letting it consume everything in its path."Their conversation held more than just scholarly curiosity; beneath the words lay their shared aspiration for excellence and re
The courtyard was ablaze with fiery demonstrations as Forgus and his fellow Fire group students practiced their magic. Sparks flickered and flames danced, reflecting their growing mastery. Joseph's grin widened as he twirled flames like an artist with a brush, while Ella molded water into intricate shapes nearby."Nicely done, Forgus!" Joseph called out, flames following the wave of his hand.Forgus wiped sweat from his brow, a sense of accomplishment flooding his veins. "Thanks, Joseph."Ella joined them, her clothes lightly damp from water manipulation. "You're both improving leaps and bounds."With a chuckle, Forgus glanced at his friends. "It's the result of burning the midnight oil, or in this case, magic."Their training session wrapped up, and Professor Simon's voice carried across the courtyard. "Well done, Fire group. Keep in mind, it's about finesse, not just power."Amid the dispersing group, Forgus noticed Professor Magnus watching from a distance, his intense gaze fixed o
The sun's gentle rays painted the Institute's grounds with warmth as the Earth group assembled on the edge of a lush meadow. Ten students, their faces alive with anticipation, stood in a loose circle around a circular patch of earth. Professor Ant, a figure of quiet wisdom, stood before them."Today, we delve into the heart of earth magic," Professor Ant announced, his voice resonating with reverence. "Feel the earth's energy beneath your fingertips."The students extended their hands, palms hovering just above the soil. Whispers of incantations fluttered in the air, mingling with the soft rustle of leaves. Their expressions held a mixture of focus and excitement, as if they were on the verge of uncovering a hidden treasure."Let the earth's pulse guide you," Professor Ant instructed, his eyes twinkling with ancient knowledge. "Merge your magic with its essence."As the students channeled their energy, the earth responded. The ground beneath their hands quivered, a subtle dance of mag
