Chapter 17 - Plans For The Blackest Blue

"There is an intruder. At least six of them!" Bel quickly shushed Leo as his eyes keened at the waterfall in front of the lair.

Leo turned his gaze to the waterfall and his eyes jammed the shadowy figures behind it. Fortunately, he was able to contain the loud gasp that almost escaped his lips.

"They're vividly heading toward our direction, what should we do?"

Bel ignored the question and simply dropped the magma stone on the ground, "What can we do? Fight them of course!"

A frustrated frown appeared on Leo's face as the guards vastly came closer to the cave. He transformed into his shadowy appearance and hid on the stone upper-ceiling, "I'm ready!"

He whispered from a fairly-wide distance.

It did not take up to a minute, and five armored men stood in the lair, their eyes glued to Bel who looked more furious than a madman.

"All these riches!" One of the men quickly commented on the pile of gold pieces on the ground.

Bel growled at the men and a pair of long claws slowly grew from his fingers, "I'll leave as soon as possible if I were you!"

The men unsheathed their swords as a retaliation to the words that came out threatening and unfazed.

"Unfortunately, whatsoever monster you are!" Another of the men jumped in front of the other crew, a careless smirk exposed on his face, "We killed more than a dozen of you."

"And who cares! Kill how many beasts you can, I just think it'll be best if you leave."

"Seems like you understand common English, eh?" The man gazed at Bel who looked like he slowly lost his cool, "We are the guards sent by the king, in search of a dragon. And... You look suspicious!"

Bel remained silent and he began to drool for some unknown reason. He vastly began to approach the crew with bloodlusty eyes, and the guards in return readied their swords with a series of different facial expressions.

"Calm down, m..." Before the man could even finish his statement, Bel jumped on him, his fingers almost inserted into the face of the man who had luckily avoided the attacks by holding his wrist.

The other guards looked shocked to the maximum as they stared in disbelief at Bel whose killing intent exploded into the surrounding. They drew up their swords ready to slash Bel on his back.

The sharp sword of the men directly landed on the Bel's back, leaving a long cut that turned bloodied within mere seconds.

Bel abruptly turned his gaze to the men, and then back to the struggling man who looked like he was going to die out of exhaustion.

A few more seconds and a cracking noise resounded in the cave. The eyes of the men keened at Bel who slowly stood up from the body of the limp man whose arms looked out of place.

"Shit! He's a monster." A man pointed at Bel whose appearance slowly transformed into a medium-sized dragon.

After the brief scene of Bel's transformation, he turned his stare to the men who all shivered in fright at his thick black scales and mighty stature that directly pierced into their heart

"Damned creature, I'd never thought you'll be this intimidating... again!"

A loud screech erupted the surroundings and Bel pounced on one of the guards, instantly ripping his flesh from his bones.

A four-legged beast appeared in the lair and the guards looked petrified.

"This is a monster hole!" One of the guards flared up and he began to run out of the cave. But just before he could escape, the beast which was over six feet in width pounced on the man, immediately interrupting his movement as he was being devoured into small bits.

In only a matter of few minutes and Bel, including the beast created a pile through the corpse of the guards.

"Bel, you were so weak in your human form, does that means I can beat you that way?"

Leo's voice swept the room as he jumped down from his long-term hiding spot.

Bel glared at him with an evil frown and he immediately began to make his way into his darker lair.

"I'll continue my creation whether you're interested or not!" Shouted Leo while he had a smirk on his face. Bel went ahead to ignore the words and walked into his lair.

"You should be enthusiastic for me though, a small fight should not exhaust to that level!" He laughed at the Bel and then turned his gaze to the magma stone that rested peerless on the ground.

Leo still had goosebumps staring at the stone as the brain-jotting temperature was too high for him to be comfortable with. He heaved a sigh and summoned up his courage, as his face tightened in his shadowy appearance.

He slowly picked the magma stone from the ground and fortunately, the temperature had cooled to a reasonable temperature.

"This monster needs some experience before his big reveal." The chaotic scene of the beast tearing the village apart was pictured in his head as a smile crept into his face.

Bel finally emerged from the darker lair, a careless expression on his humanoid face, "I do not think that will be chaotic! Why don't you wait until a ceremonial period, such as the newborn's dedication?"

"Hum..." Leo pretended to ponder over the idea, but deep down, it was a plan befitting for a chaotic master.

Finally, after a few minutes, he nodded with an indefinite smile on his creepy and broad face, "Nice! And maybe I'll kill the baby in the process."

"You...you are not ashamed of yourself by those words? Even I will not think of murdering a newborn!" Bel looked like he was going to pass out from a heart attack while staring at Leo's careless face, "If you want to live long, don't touch the elder or anyone related to the King, else they'll most definitely burn the forest in search of you."

Leo rolled his eyes and then pointed the magma stone to Bel, "By the way, it's supposed to be dust and not a solid stone-rock."

"Then crush it into dust yourself!"

"That I'll do!" Leo hissed as he jumped out of the lair, leaving Bel who on the other hand, quickly walked into the darker lair.
