Bella had been parked outside Joyce’s condo for over ten minutes and she kept on contemplating because she had promised Joyce that her friend would be of help but with the looks of things that ship wasn't sailing at all.She finally mustered up courage, got out of her car, headed to the front door and pressed the bell. It only rang twice before it was answered by Joyce. “Bella!” Joyce greeted as she opened the door gesturing for Bella to come in.“Come in!” “It's been a while.” Bella responded as she hugged Joyce.Joyce smiled. “Yes indeed.” She paused, “What was so important that you couldn't tell me on the phone? Did something happen?” Joyce asked.Bella took in a deep breath before responding.“No, nothing really but we are at a crossroad. You remember a friend of mine that I said would be willing to help?” “Yes, I do.” Joyce replied.“Well she said she wouldn't be able to help us for now.”“Oh, really. If I may ask, what was her reason?”“She recently just got back into town
Elizabeth waited beside Damon's car, feeling a little guilty about how sternly she spoke to him over the phone. She was jolted out of those thoughts and back to reality when she heard Damon's voice as he approached her.“Your Highness, I'm so sorry for interrupting your meeting with Miss Richmond, I didn't intend to, I just had to.“ Elizabeth apologized, frantically trying to calm Damon down.“Elizabeth! You sent guards to throw me out of the hospital?!“ Damon asked, neglecting her plea.“No sir. I didn't give them such orders, I only told them that it was of utmost urgency that you came downstairs immediately.“ She explained, intimidated by the boiling anger written on Damon's face.“What did you guys do to the prince?!“ She inquired from the guards.“Prince Damon wasn't willing to leave ma'am, so we had to forcefully bring him downstairs.“ One of the bodyguards responded.“We're sorry Your Highness. We didn't mean to disrespect you or manhandle you in any way.“ The guards apologized
Damon had just arrived at his hotel room after the long meeting with the executives that night. He still worried about Sonia's health, he was exhausted from the whole stress he had encountered that day. He flung his suit jacket on the table, took off his shoes and socks, took off his shirt and immediately hit the shower. He had just come out of the bathroom when his phone rang. He walked over to his bed where he had kept his phone and checked the caller ID. It was an unknown number. This was strange, because he had changed his direct line, and it was kept discrete, and he had only disclosed it to his grandfather, Elizabeth, Phillip and Brandley, nobody else. He hesitated for a while, then picked on the fifth ring.“Hello?! Who's this?“ Damon asked sternly.“Hello again, Damon!“ The caller replied. The voice was very familiar, and he had heard it for too long to be wrong. It was none other than his ex-wife, Joyce.“Joyce, how did you get my direct line?! You've been stalking me, isn't
Brandley walks into the room looking all tensed and suspecting, he sees Damon and Philip having their guys' time and chatting but his reason for coming was more important than whatever they were talking about.“Brandley, did you see a ghost or something? Why this look?” Damon asked curiously.“My Prince, there's an urgent development,” Brandley replied quietly trying his best to be both discreet and respectful.“There is always a new development, Brandley. Just go ahead and lay this one down. Or is someone dead now?” Damon asked, feeling already familiar with the happenings of events since he became the crown prince of the kingdom.Philip chuckled slightly, “Man, you know your territory already.”“Dude. I've never gotten to rest since all of these, it's being one issue or the other, here and there.” Damon complained.Brandley kept still, not enjoying the fun at all. He feels betrayed and he needed answers but Damon and Philip were having their fun without allowing him to land his cas
Joyce sat down at the bar section in a club that night, drinking a glass of martini and just enjoying herself. From her expression and vibes, it seemed she had a lot to celebrate and be happy about. “Give me a bottle, mister.” She said to the bartender as she danced to the rhythm of the music oozing from the speakers.“Here you go, miss.” The bartender said to her in a soft touchy voice. And she smiled back at him, feeling the energy from him as she collected the bottle of martini from him.“Sorry to intrude, ma. But a beautiful young woman like yourself, all here drinking and celebrating alone? I can't help but wonder why.” The bartender, a handsome-looking young man, said to her hoping to start a conversation with her.“Well, handsome. I'm celebrating a big win I'm about to score.” She replied him, still vibing to the sounds in the club.“Oh, I see, baller. I bet I can score better if you give me the chance tonight.” The bartender, leading Joyce on to an arousing interest, said to
Damon paced around in his hotel room, worried sick about everything. Joyce is about to play a card that would destabilize everything for him. If she goes on air with the evidence she has, then it would be trouble for him and the kingdom. Not only would he be seen in a different light, enemies would rise up to support her and help her take him down, and he couldn't afford that right now.“Damon, you've got to chill out man. We'll find a way out.” Philip said, trying to get him off his edge.“Phil, she can't go public. You know this.” He answered Philip reminding him of how detrimental it will be for him.“Your Highness, permit me, but I must say this,” Brandley interrupted and everyone turned to him, “I feel really disappointed that all along, you didn't see it fit to confine in me with the truth. You told me she was a crazy woman stalking you and that you never knew her.”Brandley's words reminded Damon of why the man didn't look happy all the while and why he questioned him the way h
“My Prince, what's your strategy for your meeting with Joyce today?” Brandley asked Damon who sat in his office putting things together.Just then, Philip came in,“Your Highness. Brandley. So, what's the move?” He asked as he entered Damon's office.Damon fixated on his work took some time away from his labors to focus on Brandley and Philip.“I don't have any strategy other than to bash that crazy woman to destroy everything she claims to have.” He said.“That wouldn't work, sir. She just won't destroy her claims simply because you, in your words, ‘’bash’ her. We need a comprehensive strategy both for offensive and defensive measures.” Brandley answered him, disproving his strategy which he actually never thought through.“Brandley is right, Damon. You shouldn't carry this out with emotions. We need a good plan.” Philip attested to Brandley's words.“Okay. I'll just pay her off because am never taking her back. Never ever.” Damon responded, bringing out his next strategy.“I don't t
Dear Readers,Just as I have begun from Chapter 32 of this story, I'll be slowing down the pace of the story and this could lead to lengthier scenes, less emphasis on minor characters, and longer dialogues. Also, I'd love to get your feedback on this and on the entire story so far. Please comment your thoughts, and I promise to look into them. Thanks for staying with me!
