Challenge 2

There was a hushed silence in the hall, following the woman’s protest. Everybody had looks on their faces that said they were waiting for a good show to begin.

Sloan’s face was dark. It didn’t look like he liked what he was hearing.

“What do you mean by that?” Sloan asked tentatively.

“Exactly what I said,” the woman said.

“Just now he was going to leave the stage after acquiring the item. That is against the rules of this auction.”

“This is a place where benefits are exchanged. Not where one can arbitrarily pick up any item they fancy without consideration for the other parties involved.”

Sloan felt a headache coming on. Listening to the woman’s words, it was clear what she was getting at. Basically, she was saying Arran simply taking the natal weapon without offering any benefits in exchange was against the rule.

In normal cases, this would be true. But this was not a normal case at all.

Sloan did not panic. He slowly tried to resolve this matter as best as possible.
