Have you ever had that one friend who persistently suffered from eighth-grader syndrome otherwise known as the chunnibyou disease?
The thing about the eighth-grader syndrome is that every one of us has suffered from this condition before.
Whether it was to save a damsel in distress or to suddenly wake up one day only to find out that your boring parents who you were always ashamed of turned out to be the greatest secret agents of all time who have gone missing and are suddenly relying on you to save them and the whole world, or it could be that you suddenly had the urge to shout aloud words like, "It's me against the world, or the world is my oyster and I shall conquer it!"
Words that would leave a sane person blushing hard with embarrassment.
The point is that at some point in our lives we always wished that the lives we led were not as boring and depressing as it really is but was instead fun and full of adventure, well not Arran.
Arran's life co
Charmy sat down with a loud plump sound as she groaned in frustration. She did not mind that the ground was littered with the blood and dismembered body parts of the green-skinned mandrakes and was happily enjoying this final moment of peace. With her hands and legs flying about in the air, Charmy shouted loudly, "Ah, I don't care anymore but I'm not getting up from here. If anybody dares to make me move a single inch from this place I'll fight them to the death!"Arran also sat down on the ground and started to think about the drill while Eris stood at one corner of the place that was relatively cleaner. As Arran was deep in thought, his mind wandered to his present situation. It was only now that he realized the cruelty of the universe.According to Charmy, these green-skinned mandrakes were a lesser race of underground dwellers. In fact, calling them a civilized race was actually a way to sugarcoat the fact that they were nothing more than a species of
The evaluation of the drill and the awarding and punishment of the cadets lasted for a long time that by the time it had ended, three hours had passed.During the evaluation, it was found that the unit under the charge of instructor Hannibal had performed the best overall as a group so naturally they were rewarded for their performance.During the drill, this unit was lucky enough to be together when the green-skinned mandrakes attacked. With their advantage in the beginning the unit went ahead to occupy the arena where they were located, turning it into a fortress as they defended it and waited for the end of the drill.Because of this maneuver, they were able to survive with most of their number intact.Apart from them, there were also a few other cadets units that had performed exceptionally. It should also be noted that among these units, most of them were initially complete with all the members of the unit present. It was only because the actions of
As Arran stood before those gates, he could sense a type of vestitude that carried traces of history on the aged wood of the gates. The closed gates had a drawing carved on their surface that depicted the scene of a war between three forces where two of those forces laid siege to the third. As Arran observed the carvings it was like he could see the raging battles that happened on that day of the battle depicted in the carvings. On that day, when it seemed like the force under attack was about to succumb to their attacks, suddenly the clouds opened up, and from the skies came many winged humans that came down upon the enemies of the sieged force, cutting them down and culling their numbers in droves. As he observed the gates that separated the street he was in from what was beyond, Arran could also notice some minor details. From these details like the hedge of trees that were arranged in neat rows outside that spread their branches and shed their leaves followi
Inside, the old castle was lit up by candle lights that gave it an old ceremonial air. Above their heads was a giant crystal chandelier that reflected the lights of the candles on the surrounding walls, and along the walls were many two-meter-tall statues of winged people in various poses. These statues came in all manner of styles and they carried their own vibe, like the people who the statues were fashioned of had not only imprinted their likeness onto them but had imprinted their also their wills and spirit into the statues. It was like the statues were alive as they gave off their own personalities.Arran was very impressed by all that he was seeing and as he observed everything he called out."Hello, is anybody here?"Arran's voice echoed everywhere in the castle but there was no one who responded. This puzzled Arran as he felt that for a large castle such as this, there had to be occupants in it especially since he had received an invitation
It did not take long for them to reach the backyard. While the journey may have seemed long, the actual distance from the front of the castle grounds to the back did not take more than ten minutes and that was all because Arran had deliberately slowed down in order to observe the statues and their plaques. As they got closer to the backyard, Arran could finally make out a few sounds. From what he was hearing Arran figured out that a few people were training... like there was anything new there.By the time Arran and the others finally stepped into the yard, he was able to make out a total of four voices clearly while the others were not so clear. In the backyard, the sun was shining down on a grass field that was a few hundred meters wide. On the field were seven figures participating in a small scale-free for all while the other three watched their battle.Arran did not recognize any of the people gathered here from anywhere but as he watch
What was the most distinguishing feature of the Kingsmen? If you were to ask Arran that question then he would tell you that the answer was pretty obvious. That was why he answered as such, "Well it should be pretty obvious since every single Kingsman I have come in contact with has always had a pair of wings growing out of their backs."Missy nodded and she said, "You are right. Every Kingsman has a pair of wings growing out of their backs. It is our signature look if you want to put it that way, but let me ask you this, why is it that the Kingsmen have wings on our backs? Why not a tail, or horns?""Since we have wings growing out of our backs, what are they useful for? Are they just useful for flying with because I have to tell you it will get to a point where other wingless and grounded creatures will be able to defy gravity and soar to the skies without relying on any external aid? Since that is the case why are the wings necessary?""I also h
The sky was darkening as the unique sunlight of the planet gave the sky a purple tinge. While one could not see past the layers of purple clouds, the frequent flashes of lightning painted a marvelous moving picture in the clouds... as if an open-air cinema had come to town.Arran had finally resolved himself.Despite the pain that Arran knew he would feel, he had finally decided to bear with it as only in this way would he be able to grow stronger than he currently was.Over the week since Arran had started absorbing essence energy into his body and using it to refine and strengthen his body Arran had noticed that his physical fitness was increasing at a remarkable rate... almost at the speed of a rocket... and that he was vastly more powerful than he was when he first came here.Still, whenever he remembered the powers that Eris and Charmy had displayed during the drill Arran felt like his speed of growth was not fast enough. He was nowhere near as
Fuck!!!That was the only thing Arran could say as he fell down the cliff. The speed at which Arran plummeted was so fast that Arran's face was feeling a lot of pain from all the air hitting it.The wind was roaring in Arran's ear as he fell along with the sound of rapid water falling that Arran could now hear much more clearly.Turning his head to the side where he heard the sound from, Arran was shocked by what he saw.Unlike what he had previously thought, what he had heard at the top of the cliff was not the sound of a small creek flowing into a lake but the sound of a massive waterfall that fell from the bottom of the piece of land where the academy was located at.That was when Arran remembered that the geographic terrain of the planet was one where the heavy magnetic activity of the planet had caused all landmass to levitate into the clouds forming floating mountain ranges where the Kingsman academy resided and below the floating land
