Brianna was as ready as she ever could be.
Knowing that it was finally time for them to counterattack, Brianna was rearing to go.
With excitement clearly visible in her eyes, Brianna looked at the bug tide and the rapidly fleeing alliance members, Brianna eagerly asked Arran.
"So tell me, who do we target first?"
Sharing the same eagerness that Brianna had, Arran pointed at a few places below them as he said, "There, there and there... these places are were a few tokens a located. I only need two more tokens for me to be able to advance so am good but in your case, we will have to start from scratch to gather enough tokens so you can advance."
Hearing Arran's words, Brianna started to feel bad about herself. she felt like she was dragging Arran down by having him carry he along.
It was true, without Brianna hanging off of Arran's shoulders, he would have been able to advance a long time ago but now at this moment, not only was Arran no
Somewhere in the cave, in the middle of thousands of black shelled bugs, a certain participant was desperately resisting the bug tide. There was a blue barrier layer that was made out of energy that was in place around the body of the participant which extended to up to one meter from his body. It was with this barrier that this participant had been able to last this long after being caught in this stampede. This participant was one of the few decision-makers that had been selected to supervise the alliance along with Carrum and his accomplices. For this person to be selected out of the many participants in the alliance, it could be said that his strength was recognized a little among their circle and that he was not too weak. But in the face of this disaster, this person proved not to be strong enough to do much except to hold on.even if this participant was still able to resit for this long but he could do no more than that and he was simply swept along with the bug
Arran headed to the location where Carrum was hiding. It was unclear how Carrum did it but as it was, while the other alliance members were trying their best to find a way to escape from the bug stampede, Carrum had done the exact opposite and he was instead using the bug tide as a means to hide. That's right...Right now, Carrum was right in the middle of the stampede and he was hiding by using the bugs as cover so that nobody would notice him at all.Carrum probably intended to take advantage of the chaos to make a clean escape and from there he would be home free and safe from danger. As Carrum right now had the most number of tokens on him which Arran felt would be enough for Carrum to use to advance to the next round, once Carrum was able to escape from danger then he would naturally be able to advance without any issues. As long as Carrum was willing to take the risk to fuse the tokens in his possession wantonly, he would naturally be able to
Arran and the cloaked figure looked at each other deeply for some time and it was only when a lone bug that was separated from the rest of its company passed through them at the speed of a race car leaving behind a trail of dust in its wake did the cloaked figure finally make a move. The cloaked figure raised his hand and lowered the hood of his cloak thereby exposing his face to Arran. With the fog veiling his face gone, Carrum's hard face was exposed to Arran. There was a grim look on Carrum's face and his gaze towards Arran had a hidden rage and murderous intent in them. It was like as he looked at Arran, what he saw wasn't a noble Kingsman but instead his mortal enemy. To be honest, Carrum like everybody else was very surprised to find out that Arran was in fact a Kingsman. Just like everybody else who had found out about Arran's identity as a kingsman, he had been confused since Arran was not known to anybody at all, unlike all the other kingsmen. But this
"So young master Arran, have I been forgiven of my offense, can you let this one go now?""Hmm!""You don't really expect it to be so easy, do you? You think that just because you no longer refer to me as brother that I will let you go do you?""Heh, when have things ever been so simple in this world?"Arran said all this in a tone that suggested he was talking to a fool. It was like the mere thought that things would end so simply just because Carrum was being humble before Arran would make Arran forget about all the times he had been chased and hunted by Carrum and the alliance.Hearing that he was not going to be let off that easily, Carrum's mood darkened some more and he tensed his muscles as he got ready to attack. He had already expected that Arran would not let him off so easily but that was okay, his goal was never for Arran to forgive him. Carrum just wanted Arran to let his guard down before him, giving Carrum the chance to strike
Carrum was sent flying a few meters away due to Arran's sudden attack. he had not been expecting Arran's sudden ambush and the result was that after Carrum was able to stabilize himself he found out that he had suffered a fair bit of damage.Carrum in order to stop himself from flying away due to Arran's attack used his leg to dig into the ground using the friction to make himself come to a sliding stop leaving deep furrows in the ground. After coming to a stop, Carrum felt around himself for any damage he might have suffered.Looking at his body, Carrum could see faint scorch marks on his clothes that were from the lightning properties of the attack. His body would twitch occasionally and go numb from the residual lightning that hit him and there was stuffiness in his chest from which was where he had suffered a direct hit from Arran. The stuffiness in his chest made Carrum uncomfortable and it was like there was a chestful of phlegm stuck in his chest.
Carrum said nothing else to arrange. They simply looked each other in the eye. At this point, Carrum knew that there was literally nothing he could say that would sway Arran. This was because he was already hellbent on fighting with him. Whether he was making an excuse to do so or Arran had really noticed his connection to the shades, it didn't matter anymore. What mattered was that Carrum had to deal with Arran now and he had to deal with him fast!Arran and Carrum maintained eye contact for a second and in the next moment, they had already made their moves. With a mighty flap of his wings, Arran shot forward towards Carrum who had already set up a hasty defense by holding his hands up against his body as he attempted to resist Arran's Arran.Originally, Arran was fifty meters away from Carrum and this distance was crossed in a single second. Before anybody could even blink, Arran was already in front of Carrum and he was swinging his sword toward
Carrum had various thoughts going through his mind as he anticipated his continued fight against Arran. Although Carrum admitted that he could not match Arran's offensive abilities, this was exactly the kind of match-up he was mostly looking forward to in a battle.Because of Carrum's abilities, he was most suitable for playing the role of a tank in team battles where he would have to endure the hits of others, but that didn't mean that he was not able to counterattack his opponents.Although Carrum's offensive abilities were weak, his defensive abilities more than made up for it and there was also a special surprise that he always had for his opponents that would always catch them unaware which he could use to retaliate.Carrum wanted to know how long it would take Arran to realize what this surprise was.Usually, it would take a few tries before anybody would realize how Carrum was retaliating so during this time they would definitely launch a few more
There was a massive clash between two forces resulting in an explosion that was much larger than the previous one. A large cloud of dust rose up again into the air and just like before a figure was sent flying out of the dust cloud shortly after. The only difference this time was that it was only a single figure that could be seen flying out of the dust cloud. That's right, unlike the first time when both Arran and Carrum had been sent flying at the same time before, this time it was only one person who was sent flying after the collision. As for the second person, his figure could be seen faintly through the dust cloud. The figure in the dust cloud was standing upright with a long sword in his hand and a pair of large wings spreading outwards behind him.It was very clear who this figure belonged to, that could only mean that the person who was sent flying this time was none other than Carrum.Right now, Carrum after being sent flying by Arran was left tumbling
