Arran's vision was clouded by darkness and he could not feel a thing at all except a constant pressure, as if something was trying to crush him to dust.
Outside, what everybody else was seeing was a veil of darkness that had suddenly appeared to swallow Arran's figure from out of nowhere. This scene reminded everybody of Joyner Wellington and how he had lost to Carrum.
Immediately, there was a tense atmosphere in the crowd. Everybody had forgotten the matter of Carrum turning into a decadent horror, instead of waiting to see what Arran's outcome would be.
While waiting with bated breaths, shallow voices discussed amongst each other.
"Look, it's that terrifying move that defeated Joyner. The Fallen had finally decided to use it."
"Indeed, I have been really looking forward to seeing this move once again. To be honest, till now I can not fathom how the moves work. I only know that it is a game-changer once it is used."
"That's true... I dare s
'So that's how it is! No wonder it is so powerful. With such power, I dare say that not many people will be able to withstand such an attack!'Sigh!'Truly, the universe is filled with countless wonders. This is just the ability of a weakling and it's already so strong. Just how strong will those bigshots that are said to be powerful enough to dominate a region of the universe by themselves be?''When will I also have that kind of strength for myself? It is strength like that I need to find my parents. I'm really looking forward to the future right now.'Arran stood on the stage as countless thoughts went through his head.Right now, the stage was unexpectedly peaceful as Arran and the Decadent Horror stopped moving. While Arran was going through his thoughts, the Decadent Horror had stopped attacking him. It was looking at Arran with signs of fear and horror in its eyes. The Decadent Horror could not believe that after all the Dark V
Arran was right...Carrum had nothing to say about this. For Arran to be able to accurately guess the ability of the Dark Veil from just seeing it once, his perception must have been outstanding.Among the people who watched Carrum's last match against Joyner in person here, there were probably not more than a handful of people that had been able to guess how the Dark Veil worked. Among these people, Arran was probably the only participant to have done so. The others were mostly senior experts themselves and their strength should be greater than the average person. This means that when it comes to the aspect of perception, Arran was way ahead of his peers. This fact on its own was irrefutable.Arran's perception and sensory abilities had always been his greatest point. Now that he had the help of the [World Essence Pulse Bracer], Arran's perception had already become very fearsome. This was why he was able to make some guesses on the abilities of t
Carrum was killed just like that...He died without knowing how it had happened. Not to talk about the shock Carrum felt at the moment of his death. Even the audience was shocked by this surprising result. The audience had thought Arran was done for due to Carrum's sneak attack. At that moment, when Carrum's tail was whipping towards Arran, aiming to pierce through his heart, everybody thought it was the end of Arran. They all felt it was a pity that Arran had let his guard down at the last moment, thus causing him to drop the ball. What no one had expected was that instead of Arran being pierced through his heart, it would be Carrum who would have his head rolling. As for how Arran was able to kill Carrum despite being ambushed... it was actually very simple. The fact was that Arran had never actually let his guard down. Even though Carrum had seemed defenseless and although it looked like he was actually ready to die, Arran hadn't believed it for
Back to Arran... Arran was in danger. He could feel a terrifying killing intent locked on him. The owner of this killing intent was very powerful and Arran could not even muster up the strength to even think of resisting. Danger bells continued ringing in Arran's ears and as he stood rooted on the stage shivering, Arran urged himself to move. Apart from the incomparable sense of fear that overwhelmed Arran, there was also a powerful voice in his head that shouted at Arran to take a step forward. Just a single step forward! As if Arran was caught in a spell and was entranced, he kept on shouting at himself, saying. 'Move!' 'Move!' 'Move dammit! If not, you're going to die!' "These damn legs will you move... just a single step! A single step is all I need!" Right now, Arran had fallen into an unusual state. In this state, apart from the fear he felt and that terrifying killing intent, the only thing Arran felt was
Arran frowned when he heard the evil-looking man's proposal. At the same time, he broke out in a cold sweat at the manner in which he was being propositioned.Ever since the evil-looking man's face had appeared in the fog, Arran already had a guess as to who he was. This evil-looking man was probably the Shade who had tempted Carrum and caused him to fall, ultimately transforming him into a decadent horror. This much was not hard to guess, as it was actually pretty obvious. This was why Arran was so guarded against the man in the fog.Apart from the fact that e had almost died at the evil-looking man's hand, Arran was naturally on guard due to the man's identity as a Shade. Now that Arran had seemingly caught the Shade's attention, he did not know how to respond to this.Actually, Arran was not too worried to have caught this Shade's attention. Ultimately, both the Aeth and the shades were bitter enemies and both sides would try to kill each other on sigh
On the stage, a silent confrontation was going on between two forces. After Arran was saved by the golden barrier, a voice called out loudly, rebuking the Shade, who was referred to as Shade Lord Scholler. After that, like an ethereal mist, the figure of Councilman Homer appeared on the stage. He was standing in front of Arran, acting like a barrier between Arran and the shade lord. The dark green fog was still everywhere on the stage and it blocked the vision of everybody else in the venue. At this time, due to the sudden appearance of the Shade in the fog, it seemed like the chosen ceremony was put on hold. Signs of panic started to appear in the venue of the chosen ceremony but before it could spread any further, numerous while clad shadows appeared... effectively putting an end to the upstarts who were causing trouble. As for Arran... hiding safely inside the barrier, Arran felt his legs go soft, and he was almost unable to keep supporting hims
"Hahaha!"Suddenly, wild bursts of laughter resounded throughout the entire venue of the chosen ceremony. The voice was loud and reverberating and although the venue of the chosen ceremony was an open one that faced the clear sky, this voice seemed to echo into the surroundings without being lost to the wind. The one who was laughing was Shade Lord Scholler and the manner in which he did it seemed very condescending and full of ridicule.Shade Lord Scholler continued to laugh unreservedly for a full minute before he finally stopped. After stopping, he trained his eyes on Councilman Homer, who had a frosty expression on his face. The overbearing aura that surrounded Councilman Homer after his previous declaration was no longer present. Instead, because of Shade Lord Scholler's unbridled laughter that completely disregarded him, Councilman Homer's aura was filled with awkwardness.Councilman Homer felt like he had lost face in front of
There was chaos outside the stage... Everywhere Councilman Homer and Arran looked, they could see large-scale rioting and people attacking each other. Most of those who had come to watch the chosen ceremony personally were panicking, and everybody seemed to have lost their minds. Arran looked at what was happening outside the stage in shock. He didn't understand how things had turned out like this without either him or Councilman Homer being aware at all. Before Councilman Homer had dispersed the curtain of fog, neither he nor Arran had sensed anything wrong going on outside at all. It was as if the inside of the fog and outside had been separated by a great deal of space, causing those who were inside to not sense anything. Thinking of this, Arran's face became even paler. He realized that he had by far underestimated the strength of true powerhouses in the universe. To be able to deceive the senses of both Arran and even Councilman H
