Over the past year, humans and most living beings on earth had grown numb to chaos and disaster after the apocalypse had arrived. Almost nothing could get a reaction out of them, whether it was the attacks from mutated creatures and criminal meta-humans, exploitation from those that wielded incredible powers over them, or the constant struggle for survival. Most humans were no longer moved by them.

The previous earthquake that shook the entire earth was the only major thing that had caused the entire earth to become alarmed, causing many to take action, thinking that a new apocalypse was beginning. But even that hadn’t terrified many as the sudden descent of darkness that currently consumed the entire earth did.

The total loss of light was reminiscent of the night it all began — a year ago when the apocalypse started.

Without the ability to see, everything descended into chaos. Mortifying screams of terror and roars of panic rang constantly like the clarion call of disaster inviting d

There was nobody around except for Arran and the other Aeth, who looked at him with concern.“Your Highness, are you still hearing the whispers?”Joyner’s words were filled with a lot of concern for Arran’s condition. None of them thought he was making things up or going crazy.Everybody fully believed that there was something about this darkness that was unnatural so naturally something had to be behind it. What they couldn’t understand was why only Arran could detect this thing — and in such a bizarre way, too.Arran was just about to answer when he heard a voice this time, not just a whisper anymore… but before he could do that, the voice returned once again.“Don’t bother telling them about me. None of them can hear me remember. It’s only our fate bonds that allow us to communicate in this manner.”Once Arran heard this — as much as he wanted to deny it — he knew the voice was correct. Those words just now confirmed that it was truly through his heart that Arran was hearing that v

Fortunately, the darkness couldn’t reach into the light of the bracers being emitted from Arran’s body. Like a steadfast ray of starlight radiance banishing the darkness, the light prevented Kasack’s powers from reaching Arran and the others.Meanwhile, Arran with his heart in his throat, observed everything with rapt attention. After calming down from his incensed emotions, Arran realized what he had done and had been nervous that Kasack would truly appear and attack him. But seeing as nothing happened except for the roiling blanket of darkness threatening to consume them but failing to even gain ground, Arran was relieved. Then he realized something.Arran wasn’t sure if what he thought was true but he wanted to test it out so he said, “You can stop wasting your time doing that. It won’t work. After all, you’re not here, are you? So you can’t do anything to me but make threats.”As soon as Arran said this, Kasack’s voice sounded once again, swearing vehemently.“Damn it! “Hahahaha…” Arran laughed mirthfully, his tongue drooling with derision as he denounced Kasack.“Look at you, you say that the destiny I own is not mine but was given by others, yet you claim to know my destiny, too. How different are you from the ones you so righteously rebuke?”“Whether my destiny is mine or not isn't for you to decide. But know this, someday you shall perish at by hand… and that is your destiny.”Arran defiantly proclaimed to kill Kasack, to which the Shade Lord sitting on his throne multiple dimensions away chuckled with amusement. This time, Kasack wasn’t angry at what Arran said. He felt it beneath him to squabble with an insect. Yet Kasack could not let Arran have the last word, so he said to him.“You speak of destiny so casually, yet you do not understand its power. Very well. We have both acknowledged our intent to kill the other. Then, as destiny proclaims, we shall see who lives and who dies.”“Be proud, young insect, for a mighty being has accepted your c

With Kasack leaving, the darkness disappeared, leaving an ominous enemy in its wake. This was a decadent horror much larger than the previous one that was giving off much more powerful waves of pressure than the last, too. With the appearance of this new horror, the Aeth who weren’t privy to Arran’s and Kasack’s conversation immediately panicked. When the darkness first began retreating with nothing extraordinary happening, the group had been relieved, thinking that this episode was going to end smoothly only to realize that they had shot the gun too early. Now they were faced with an enemy much more powerful than the last. They didn’t know how they would face it.Everybody was tired. The last battle had drained most of their energy, leaving them with barely enough strength for a last desperate struggle. But they couldn’t back down now. Even if it was a fight to the death without any hopes of winning, it still had to be fought. At that moment, Arran opened his eyes and beheld the gift

With a single motion, Arran exerted his power to pull the two figures from Earth. In the next moment, Poltergeist and Colonel Vehe, who had been trudging through the atmosphere to ascend above Earth, appeared beside Earth. When they appeared, the two of them bore looks of confusion on their faces seeing the unfamiliar environment they were in. Previously, they had still been a long distance away from exiting Earth’s atmosphere but in the blink of an eye; they had arrived in a place that was space. The round blue planet below their feet was evident enough that they were no longer on Earth. How this happened baffled them. It was like they had been teleported, which indeed they had.Setting himself as an anchor point, Arran had displaced Poltergeist and the colonel to his position using Magnetic Shift. There was no time to waste so Arran quickly said, “Both of you, why have you come here?”Poltergeist and Colonel Vehe were still confused and didn’t react to Arran’s question immediately.

Arran inspected the duo before him. He observed them quickly, making out the expressions on their faces and trying to guess their feelings. His mind skimmed the surface of their psyche, reading their every thought as he contemplated the plan in his mind.Thinking of the plan in his mind, Arran was reminded of Joyner’s words — about doing what he could do — and Arran turned towards the distance where the battle was raging fiercely and desperately.By now, the horror had already materialized completely into this space and was fighting Arran’s teammates with all its might. Indeed, just as they had all expected, this horror was much stronger than the previous one, although its abilities were mostly the same, just with a lot more power and potency.By now, all the five fighting the horror sported one injury or the other, which while not being serious, still showed how serious the battle was.Fortunately, with their experience fighting the previous horror, the five of them could stand their

  • Kingsman Return   A Plan Borne Out Of Desperation

Arran’s plan was simple. Grant Colonel Vehe and Poltergeist the power to help them in this situation so that they can fight the decadent horror and buy time for reinforcements to arrive. But how to achieve this was the tricky part…Arran carefully explained his plan to the colonel and Poltergeist. You see, to grant Colonel Vehe and Poltergeist enough strength to battle the decadent horror was very easy. They just needed to possess the World Essence Pulse Bracers, which could enhance and strengthen the powers of others to unimaginable levels. But the problem is that the bracers already had an owner. The Guardian of the bracers was effectively the artifact's owner who could use all of its powers without limitations. There can only ever be one guardian for any of the seven ultimate artifacts at any given time.Once the status of guardian is given to another, then the previous guardian seizes to be the owner of the artifact. That was how Arran’s mom, Azalea, was the previous guardian and

Technically, Arran was also an earthling. He had been born and raised on earth for the first nineteen years of his life so he also shared in this talent blessing of the spark of origin. This was probably another reason his ancestor, Lachlan, had sent Arran and his parents to Earth. Now, by manipulating this connection, Arran could use the World Essence Pulse Bracers as a conduit to share some of the spark’s powers with Colonel Vehe and Poltergeist, giving them the necessary strength to fight the horror and aid them all.Of course, this was the first time Arran was attempting something like this so there were bound to be some unknown risks involved. Plus, even if everything went smoothly, it was a gamble just how much of the spark’s power Arran could share with the two of them and how much more powerful they would become. But regardless of how much of the spark’s power Arran could share, even if it was only a smidgen of it, such power was enough to skyrocket the colonel and Poltergeist

Seeing Poltergeist clinging onto him, Arran was confused before suddenly developing the urge to retort vehemently. But he wouldn’t have that time for things were just starting to go very wrong. The space within the void fissure was just that… a literal void where nothing existed but the vast expanse of space. But the stability of this void was seriously compromised allowing for multiple fractures in space and time to open up in the surrounding void. Due to the force of the vacuum that pulled arran and Poltergeist into the void fissure, the two of them were barreling through this space uncontrollably without the ability to stabilize themselves. Arran was too weak at the moment after having all his strength drained from him while releasing the Earth’s World Will. As for Poltergeist, she was also weakened. This was because she

Soran’s ability, Triumph, granted Arran the means to win. Before Arran thought it only made it so that he could meet his enemies power blow for blow regardless of the difference in the realm. But what if there was a situation where Arran was up against an opponent whose gap in the realm was impossible to cross logically? For instance, how would Soran ensure Arran’s victory if he was up against a god as a mere mort

While it was a pity that he couldn’t kill Kasack, arran realized the urgency of the situation. Whatever Kasack did before his disappearance, it was bad… very bad. In his madness, Kasack did something drastic. He completely unleashed the power of the old one sealed within the dark star planet. Lying within the core of the dark star planet was the old ones' power. This power was meant to be given to his chosen champion as a means to fight the Aeth civilization. It was the strongest legacy left behind by the old one which could not be inherited directly. This power was only meant to be used at the critical time of the conflict with the Aeth civilization. It was Kasack’s greatest trump card one that he was reluctant to ever use. Yet at this moment, In the face of death, Kasack unleashed this power knowing full well the repercussions of his action. Moan! Following Kasack’s mad ravings, a loud wailing moan echoed throughout the surroundings sounding like an old machine shutting down or large gears slowly going still. Kasack was severely damaged, his injuries extremely grevious. But the most severe blow done to Kasack was the blow to his mind and ego. Despite everything, despite all the preparations and plans he had made, Kasack still hadn’t succeeded in killing Arran, yet it was he who was left battered and on the brink of death once again. This thought, Kasack could not bear it. His previous shame which he had hidden beneath a well of anger and rage resurfaced once more, bursting onto the surface like an erupting volcano. Aaaahhhhhh! Kasack didn’t know who was screaming so desperately. In his daze, he heard a voice filled with fury and indignation. His mind was foggy from the impact of Arran’s blows and the bruise on his pride and ego. When the fog finally cleared a little, that is when Kasack realized that
