Arran said all this in a tone that suggested he was talking to a fool. It was like the mere thought that things would end so simply just because Carrum was being humble before Arran would make Arran forget about all the times he had been chased and hunted by Carrum and the alliance.

Hearing that he was not going to be let off that easily, Carrum's mood darkened some more and he tensed his muscles as he got ready to attack.
