The token in Arran's hand was gotten by him while he was running all around the tunnels after being chased relentlessly by the Drill Worms in their nest.
If you were to ask Arran how he had gotten himself into this kind of situation in the first place, he would not have been able to explain it to you.
Heck, he couldn't even explain it to himself.
In his own words, Arran would say that everything happened as if it were a dream. A dream that was extremely blurry and where he couldn't remember any details. In that dream, everything went by so fast and before he realized it he was already here and awake with not a single memory of what had happened inside his dream.
That was exactly how Arran felt currently as he looked at his surroundings.
All he saw as he looked around him were the fat wriggling bodies of Drill Worms of various sizes that covered his entire vision.
There were small worms the size of saloon cars and big ones the size of lorries
'So that is how it is?'As it turns out all the answers are contained in this little token!Arran held the clue token in his hand and clenched his fists in excitement. After all, he had been through, it turns out that all he needed to do was to find this clue token and he would have all the answers that he needed.Sigh! After Arran calmed down from his excited state, all that was left of his feelings was a relief. At least he didn't has to go through all that for nothing and at the end of the whole thing, he was able to find the answers that he most surely needed.Arran was still flying high in the air out of reach of the drill worms and as he flew Arran looked down on them. Seeing that there was still a lot of time left in this elimination round and that he was not in any immediate danger, Arran decided to organize and go through the information that he had just received.Arran recalled what he had just learned.Just as he had first
"This is a headache!" Arran lamented when he was finished going through the information he had gotten from the token. The reason for this is that with the nature of this elimination round being exposed like this, it meant that the number of troubles he would encounter this time will be much more than the previous round especially since he would have to face off against not only the Direbeasts in this mountain but also the participants of the ceremony. Not that Arran was afraid of trouble... Arran had already accepted the fact that he would have to face the other participants in this competition sooner or later... but he would have preferred to do so at a much later time than now. Unfortunately for Arran, it seems like he would have to deal with them much sooner than he had anticipated.Sigh!"Oh well, be it now or at a much later time, it is all the same to me. I will have to deal with them either way so why not now?" Arran psyched himself up."Thi
Dum!Dum!In a tunnel.Everything was completely dark and empty. This tunnel was not too big but at the same time it was not small at all... just about big enough for a grown man to be able to stand upright and move around without any hindrance... but intense movement could not be made in this tunnel because then it would be a tight squeeze.Everywhere was quiet until suddenly low sounds could be heard echoing around the tunnel. At first, the sounds could not be heard clearly. It was almost as if there was no sound at all but as time passed the sounds became clearer. It was a low and muffled sound and it sounded as if somebody was knocking lightly on a wooden door or as if the wind was knocking pieces of stones against a window.Boom!Boom!Boom!!Gradually, the low sounds became increasingly louder and the low sound of knocking started to sound like there were small explosions going on in the tunnel. If on
Back at the platform where the beginning of the chosen ceremony was hosted.Like always this place was bustling with activity with everybody that was present moving about and mingling with each other as they watched the ceremony being displayed live for all to see as well as the progress of the participants as they tried to clear each elimination round.Currently the three-day limit of the first elimination round was about to run out and most of the participants were already reaching the finish line.Apart from Arran, Terrence and Renee, and her sister Daphne, none of the other participants had been able to clear the first round in record time and of the remaining participants left, the fastest to clear the first round had been those that were in the top twenty among the seeded participants for this ceremony. The thing was that even if they were the fastest to clear the first round apart from the first four, the time in between was not that far apart and they co
Inside the mountain where darkness was predominant, there lurked different dangers that had taken various forms. One could not know nor could they ever expect what could jump out of the dark corners of the tunnels to hunt you and sometimes before you even knew it you were already the prey of some unknown creature. But in these tunnels, the status of the hunter and the prey was not always certain. One moment you could be the hunter in the dark using your sharp teeth to sever the life of some unsuspecting prey and in the next moment, you could have fallen under the chilling blade of the one you previously considered to be prey. That was how it was for the trio... Terrence, Renee, and Daphne. As they wandered inside the tunnels trying to figure what their purpose was in here, they constantly suffered under the attacks of the indigenous occupants of the mountain. Most of these attacks they dealt with swiftly and without mercy, striking fear into the brutal mi
It has been more than an hour since the first of the other participants entered into the mountain and more than three hours since Arran had started his hunt for more tokens.Currently in the mountain, one could hear the occasional ruckus caused by people fighting. there were sounds of explosions whose tremors would leave the mountain shaking with some loose dirt falling from the walls.Sometimes while walking through the tunnels you could also hear the sound of Direbeasts roaring as well as the voices of other participants as they engaged in mortal combat with their enemies echoing through the tunnels. At this point in the second round, it was already a given that some of the participants would either be lucky or unlucky to come across those nests of Direbeasts where the tokens were placed. Provided that those participants who stumbled into the nest were strong enough, then it would not be a surprise that these people would already know about the requirements ne
Smack!!A loud smack resounded in the area as Eris hit her forehead in exasperation. She was currently cursing at Arran right now."Damn that Arran, he is at it again! Why does he have to goof around all the time especially on such a very important moment like right now?""He should be getting ready to ambush those participants when they least expected it while also taking this opportunity to get to know their abilities. At the very least he should know the number of opponents he is about to face right!"Charmy at some point in time had gotten her hands on some food and she was eating away happily in relish.During these three days that the ceremony has been underway, it was not as if everybody would be glued constantly in front of the screen watching the activities of the participants. Naturally, it was expected that the people in the audience would take a break occasionally to rest as they would get something to eat and take care of themse
Arran stood up from his position on the floor and languidly stretched his body like a cat. He flexed his muscles to get rid of any stiffness before started to make his way towards the tunnel in front. As Arran got closer to the cave, he could hear voices coming from the front, and by listening to the voices he was able to tell that there were three people currently moving around in that cave. Arran could not tell if there was anybody else that had not spoken but it was all the same anyway.Arran was relieved. To be honest, Arran was under a lot of pressure right now.As he had started his training relatively late, most of his peers were much stronger than he was. Even if he had supreme talent that would make sure Arran was able to quickly catch up to the level of strength of his peers, Arran still needed time for that to happen and as it stood, Arran had no had enough time to train his strength.Even if Arran had the reality dungeon, like it was me
