The Charybdis was mightily enraged by Arran's earlier attack on it and it doubled its effort to close the dome as soon as possible. The amount of damage that it had suffered from Arran's attack was naturally minimal and it did not actually hurt it. Instead, it was the momentary pain and feeling of numbness in its tentacle that had slowed its attack that had truly enraged the Charybdis.
Even if the Charybdis had only slowed down for a split second due to the lightning attack, that was enough time for Arran to reduce the distance between himself and the top of the dome by quite a lot.
Arran after seeing that his attack was effective against the Charybdis, he was delighted but he did not hesitate to use this tiny window of opportunity to close the distance.

Hello everyone, it's your favorite author here. So this is where this book will be ending for now. The story is not over for Arran and his companions. There are many more adventures to share with everybody. But I decided to end this book here because I felt that it had reached a mature point and it was time to evolve the story to something more. From the sequel book onwards, it will no longer just be a story about a boy searching for answers alone but Arran will be accompanied by other main characters from my other stories. So for those who haven't read any of my other stories, you should really give it a try. Though those stories aren’t complete yet and they haven’t gone as far as this one yet, I’ll be using this chance to complete those stories so everything can progress together. Arran was sucked away into the void fissure which closed immediately after, but not before Poltergeist had managed to latch onto his thigh for whatever reason.
