"The Aeth have a myriad of different lineages and bloodlines. It is with these bloodlines and our inheritance of over ten thousand years that our race has been able to rule over this high realm with almost no rivals in the universe." Councilman Homer said, not giving Arran any more time to consider his questions.
Looking at the councilman, Arran knew that his doubts were about to be cleared. And sure enough, what the councilman said next, did just that.
"In regards to your case, there is a special bloodline that belongs exclusively to our Aeth race. It is the most special bloodline in our race, and even in the entire universe, there are very few that can rival its might. It is called the Kingsman bloodline and it is called such because for our race it is also known as the state protector bloodline. Anyone who possesses the Kingsman bloodline will grow to possess the power so great that they would be able to rule over a vast region of space by themselves alone."
As Arran heard this, even he had to admit that he was very impressed by the abilities of Aeth Kingsman's bloodline.
Although Arran did not understand the concept of bloodlines fully and with regards to his knowledge of the power systems of the wider universe being very shallow, Arran could just barely imagine how much power someone with a bloodline like that would have from the description alone.
As if knowing what Arran was thinking, the councilman said to him while pointing at commander Margo, "Commander Margo, who is by your side is a person in possession of the Kingsman bloodline.
Hearing this, Arran turned to Margo in surprise.
He remembered the first time he saw her and the impression she gave him at the time. That feeling of power she gave off as she stood there suspended in the air with her fiery aura, like any casual move of hers would destroy the planet she was in. Remembering that feeling again, Arran was filled with awe before he registered a terrifying possibility.
The most eye-catching thing that stood out about Commander Margo was not the sense of power she gave off or her fiery aura, it was the glittering divine wings that grew out of her back, and remembering the wings that also grew out of his back at the time…!!
Turning sharply to face the councilman, Arran had a look of realization.
Seeing this, Councilman Homer nodded and said, "it seems you have realized why you are so valuable to us now."
Arran was so confused. He could not wrap his head around the fact that he seemingly had the Kingsman bloodline that the Aeth say was very powerful.
For the first time since Arran entered the room, he voiced his doubts.
"How is possible for me to possess this bloodline that you are talking about? Is it possible that your artifact did something to me?"
Another holographic figure of a woman to the left of Councilman Homer shook her head and said in a very haughty manner, "It's not possible. The Kingsman bloodline is hereditary. As powerful as the artifact is, not even it is enough to grant someone the Kingsman bloodline."
Arran was not entirely convinced and asked again, "Then is it possible that you have made a mistake. I'm human and so I cannot have the bloodline of your race."
That same woman answered Arran again in the same haughty tone.
"Humph, watch your mouth child, we cannot make a mistake concerning this, and who says that you are human. You are obviously a pure-blooded Aeth."
Once Arran heard that he felt like his world was about to collapse. He did not want to believe them because if what they are saying was true, then it would mean that all his life he had been living a lie.
Thinking of his parents, he had a very terrifying thought and hurriedly asked to confirm.
"My parents, what about my parents? What role do they play in all this?"
Councilman Homer and his fellow councilmen did not answer immediately. They were looking at each other and discussing amongst themselves. Every other person in the room was in a state of shock.
The room was buzzing with soundless mutterings.
Usually, for those who were qualified to seat in this room, each was a person of great influence and they would have at least have been briefed about the situation before coming here. But even for them, they did not know about Arran possessing the Kingsman bloodline prior to their coming here.
Even the fact that he was a pure-blooded Aeth was surprising to them.
Arran frowned when the councilmen did not immediately answer his question and it made him feel like they would not be entirely honest with him.
The councilmen did not take long to discuss amongst themselves.
Soon they were done and Councilman Homer cleared his throat to get the attention of everyone, before he said, "we are sorry but because of classified reasons, we cannot disclose certain things in this assembly. But what you can be assured about is that your parents are 100% Aeth and that we have our speculations about their identity. At the very least we can be able to confirm the lineage from whom you inherited your bloodline."
Arran was very skeptical about the whole business with his parents and was very agitated. He did not want to leave it at that but he was very clear that he was in a passive position here and that he had no way of demanding answers to his questions. For a minute he was considering demanding those answers, but immediately, he thought back to the letter he got on the day all this started.
The letter that his parents left for him at the time seemed commonplace considering that they had been missing for some time.
But if he considered his current situation, then the words in the letter made perfect sense.
Immediately, Arran calmed down. His thoughts cleared and he remembered that time in the outpost when he told Rommel that he trusted and had faith in his parents. He decided this time to also trust his parents.
All these thoughts flashed through Arran's mind in a matter of seconds and by the time he came back to himself, Councilman Homer was already saying. "aside from that, now that you know the reason why we are keeping you with us, it is now time to tell you what we have decided to do with you.
Arran paid more attention here. This was what he was currently most concerned with.
"Because you possess the Kingsman bloodline, we have decided to send you to the Kingsman royal academy where you will receive the best training. All your expenses and the resources you will need from this point onwards will be fully funded by the Aeth race and you will subject to all our laws."
"Do you understand?"
Arran nodded, relieved.
It was better than he expected. at least he would not have to worry about his living conditions.
Councilman Homer nodded and continued, "Commander Margo here will be your handler and personal and will take care of anything you will need. We expect that when you are called to offer up your strength for our race you would have grown powerful enough to be of any use, for your sake and also the sake of the Aeth race."
Saying so he addressed the whole room. "this assemble is dismissed."
Then he and the other councilmen's holograms disappeared.
'My darling boy, if you are reading this, it means that I and your father are no longer by your side. By the time you get this, we would already be very far away from you. We don't know when we would be back or when our task would be done, but we will assure you that we will do everything in our power to get back to you.''Your father and I have made some preparations for you in the event of our disappearance, but in the meantime, you should make the best of the situation that you find yourself in and don't ever forget all that we have taught you because it would be the capital that you will need to face the world by yourself. Take care of yourself and know that in the box is your greatest assurance and that only when you are strong enough, then will you have the right to know all the things you need to. In this world, strength is all you need. Love, mom.'Arran finished reading the letter from his parents for the third time.Immediately after the assembly, Arra
There were powerful waves coming out of the building. What seemed like cannon shots were sounding loudly throughout the area in short intervals, followed by cheers and loud roars. From the sounds, Arran could guess that there was currently a battle taking place inside. The building's exterior looked like a standard-sized coliseum, but as they made their way inside, Arran was shocked to see a field that was twice the size of two Olympic stadiums. Not knowing how the size of a building's interior could so vastly different from its exterior, Arran looked around curiously. Before Arran's eyes were the vast space of the stadium. It was sectioned and divided into different segments with each having its own functions. Right in the middle of the field, there was an arena, and it was from here that the sounds were generated and it was currently surrounded by a lot of people.Commander Margo took Arran in that direction of the arena and Arran was able to get
"Everyone listen up. This here is Arran. From this point onwards, he will be studying here with you all." Commander Margo said to the waiting cadets who were looking at Arran and herself. When they heard that, they were all shocked. That was because they were able to tell that Arran was still a mortal that had not trained his vital energy. The woman who looked like an instructor had a meaningful look on her face as she looked at Arran. Unlike her students who were usually only focused on training, she was aware of who Arran was, and naturally, since he would be in her class, she also knew that he would be arriving here today. As much as the cadets had their doubts and it was very obvious on their faces, they knew better than to question Margo at this moment since everything seemed to be set in stone and they could do nothing about it.Margo on the other hand turned her attention to the teacher who was in front of her."Fel, I'll be handing him over
WHAT!!!Their shout was like a chorus echoing throughout the whole arena. To the cadets, the words that came out of Arran's mouth were like a thunderclap, shocking them senseless. It was too absurd to believe.Who was a Kingsman? They were a group of people who possessed the number one bloodline in the whole Aeth race, and who would later go on to command pinnacle levels of strength and power in the universe. For people who possessed this powerful bloodline, they would surely be known to the entire race and would have already received training from a very young age. People who have the Kingsman bloodline commanded a lot of prestige with the Aeth, this was very true considering the fact that the bloodline was difficult to pass on and that the Kingsmen were very little in population. Now a mortal who had not even trained his vital energy was here before them telling them that he possessed this top bloodline. In one word, it was hilarious!Sudd
Understood!!This word spread through the arena like a storm as the cadets responded to instructor Fel's query. Instructor Fel nodded as she saw this, she then turned to Arran to say."That's all for today. You'll be briefed on what to expect at another time, but for today, you'll have to stand by on the side and watch how we conduct lessons here. Do you understand?"As Arran was about to respond, suddenly, there came a low and creepy sound of laughter.Arran, instructor Fel, and the rest of the other cadets turned towards the source of the sound only to see that at the very edge of their formation, there was a young man who was standing there still in the midst of laughing. He made no attempt to hold himself back.Seeing him, the faces of some of the cadets there changed as they recognized who that young man was. At the back, Charmy cursed under her breath and her playful expression from before changed. What replaced it was a deep disdain and loat
"He just has to prove himself."When Kellogg said these words, everybody had weird expressions on their faces. In their minds, they were puzzled.'How exactly do you expect a mortal to prove himself to you?'Take for instance, if it's a battle you want, then are you not ashamed to suggest fighting a mortal? In terms of power… you are stronger than he is, in terms of technique… you have received training from the best of the best, what then is there to prove… is it who is more handsome?Let's compare again, you have a more impressive background than your opponent and everybody knows this, so how do want him to prove himself?Do you say to him… 'look, my daddy owns a planet, what does yours have?'That's just absurd!Currently, thoughts like these were running through everybody's minds now and even Kellogg's lackeys did not know how to respond to this.Arran had to resist the urge to roll his eyes.
The arena was silent.Right now the situation was at an impasse, and Charmy had no way to resolve it. If she continued to rebuke Kellogg, then it would seem that she was not confident in Arran's chances of winning, but if she did not, then it would basically be sending Arran into Kellogg's trap to suffer.Actually, the situation itself was not too tricky, it was the choice of Arran's opponent that was very tricky.Omar may not be the most powerful cadet in this batch, but he had a very troublesome trait, or talent if it could be called that.Omar's presence was very weak and was almost nonexistent. If you put him in a crowd, by the time you blink he would already have vanished from your senses. He may be right by your side, but because of how weak his presence was, you would find it almost impossible to notice him.On a normal day, this trait was not a problem for other people, but in combat, this trait was a nightmare. Because of how it is difficu
The technique that Omar used in his strike was a very simple one.In principle, it was very similar to what Arran used when he sparred with Brendell in the outpost. At that time, during the final decisive moment of the fight, Arran performed a feint with his leg by reducing the amount of force used in his kick. By doing so he did not fully extend himself which left him with enough strength to pull back his attack in time and deliver the winning strike. In this sense, when Omar stabbed at the dummy, he did not immediately use his full strength but instead delivered it in short, rapid bursts which enabled him to stab three times in a single moment.A technique like this was too simple to perform by anybody who had received professional training. There was nothing about this technique that would spur the amazement of the cadets. Why were they amazed all the same? You would ask. That was because of the simple fact that Omar was even able to hide
