The frozen cave used to hold prisoners was located in the industrial zone, not far from the main administrative center of the entire settlement. It was one of the most well-guarded places in the settlement and nobody was worried about prisoners escaping and causing a commotion.

It didn’t take long for Col. Vehe to arrive at the cave but when he got there, there was already somebody waiting for him.

Standing at the entrance of the cave was a lean and almost lanky figure. Her legs were long - extremely so - like one of those kinds that seemed to be all legs and nothing else, and she sported thin body fingers that were as white as ice from being exposed through the fingerless gloves she wore on her hand. Along with a simple blazer and cargo pants that billowed from the bone-chilling wind coming from the mouth of the cave, the figure appeared sorely underdressed at the moment.

The woman was shivering in the snow, occasionally letting out a snivel as she tried to stop her nose from running

Her mannerism was odd with an unsettling gleam present in her eyes which looked like they were about to pop out at any moment.Unable to figure out her deal, Beatrice spoke first, asking, “Who are you?”“Me?”Pointing at herself, Poltergeist responded with a look of surprise on her face as if she didn’t expect to be asked that question.Smack!Suddenly, she slapped herself on the forehead loudly before speaking.“Right, I didn’t introduce myself. Can you imagine that? How silly of me. Why don’t we start over from the beginning and get to know each other?”“Hi, my name is Faith but people call me Poltergeist. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?”Not answering, the trio were thrown for a loop at the unpredictability of the person before them. It seemed rather random to them that she only just realized that she had failed to introduce herself when she first entered.Choosing to ignore

Before he continued, Arran turned to look at Beatrice and Pamela and sent a thought to them using High Mind which was a psychic clairvoyance all Aeth was capable of using after opening the reality gate and achieving concept actualization.“You two, help me out a little here. This one’s a tough nut.”There was a brief flash of surprise in the two’s eyes but it quickly vanished.Beatrice asked, “What should we do?”“Just interact with her. I need her to keep talking. The more active she is, the greater my chance of figuring her out.”Beatrice and Pamela were confused about what Arran wanted to do. Before coming, they had discussed how they would learn any information they wanted from the base.As the base employed a closed network with a series of strong encryptions around it, it wasn't easy to dig through their highly protected files without being noticed. Surely the level of technology of the Aeth was more than enough to defeat an aborigine civilization that had yet to step out fully

Arran only talked to Poltergeist after confirming that Beatrice and Pamela were still under control. Although they seemed to be affected by some power that caused them to act out of character, they were still very restrained in their squabble - subconsciously not revealing any important details about themselves or their mission. Only then was Arran able to ignore them and focus on the main culprit instead. Poltergeist, instead of answering, Arran tried to suppress an eerie laugh and asked, “Hehe! Isn’t it fun seeing the two of them revealing their true feelings to each other?” “Friends should be honest with each other and say how they truly feel about one another. If not, they are bad friends and I don’t like bad people.” Then turning to Arran Poltergeist asked in a chillingly innocent manner, “You’re not a bad person are you?” Taking in Poltergeist’s words, Arran looked at Beatrice and Pamela and confirmed a few things already. But he didn’t act yet and instead chose to answer Pol

As soon as Poltergeists spoke, Arran suddenly felt a mysterious power fall upon him like a shroud, emitting a subtle influence on him to open his mouth and answer her question truthfully. ‘Is this her power acting on me?’ Arran wondered internally, his mind probing the powers as if understanding its influence. But Arran shook his head later in disappointment. ‘It’s quite weak!’ Arran was disappointed at the strength of Poltergeist’s power. Its effects were quite frankly very weak, so weak that they could almost be ignored. Anybody with powerful enough willpower and mental fortitude would not be affected by this power at all. Still, while it was not strong enough to directly influence Arran, its presence could still be felt lingering onwards, gradually increasing in strength until it broke through all mental defense of its target. Understanding this, Arran smiled and finally responded to Poltergeist. “Of course, one has to be fair. That’s what a good person would do. Unfortunately

  • Kingsman Return   Power Of Intent

Beatrice and Pamela were suddenly not affected by Poltergeist’s powers anymore, causing her to fall into a downward spiral of doubt and confusion. Poltergeist wondered if her powers had ever worked on them in the first place or if they had been pretending from the very beginning. In truth, Poltergeist’s powers did affect both Beatrice and Pamela initially. Their disagreement hadn’t all been faked out as they did indeed fall under Poltergeist’s influence. One advantage of mystery-type powers was - well, their mysterious nature. Without an understanding of the rules governing a mystery-type power, it was easy to fall victim to the power without realizing it. This element of surprise took advantage of your ignorance and lack of vigilance to ensnare and trap you. In Beatrice’s and Pamela’s case, they naturally didn’t know Poltergeists possessed a mystery-type power and as such were unguarded against her. This was why they had been affected. But that wasn’t the only reason… Because of s

Before anybody could speak, a voice suddenly called out from the end of the prison cave, booming like the roar of a tiger.“That’s enough, Miss Ohimai. You can stand down now.”Poltergeist jolted fiercely as soon as she heard her real name being spoken. In the entire settlement, only one person still addressed her by her true name rather than the monicker that came due to the nature of her powers.Turning around, the shadow of a man or a beast consumed her attention, filling up the entire focus of her vision like a colossal star in deep space. Poltergeist was so intimidated that she involuntarily took a step back into the prison cave, allowing the beast of a man to step into the limelight.Col. Vehe entered fully into the prison, his aide trailing behind him like a shadow. They came to a stop in front of Arran’s cell. Unsurprised by his appearance, Arran looked up squarely at the colonel.“So you finally decided to show up, eh? Did you get what you wanted as you watched from the back

“You are not surprised that I know who you are,” Col. Vehe said. It was a statement, not a question.“Of course we are not,” Arran replied.“What self-respecting leader would invite others into their home and not investigate who they were? We fully expected to be exposed as soon as we were captured so we didn’t intend to hide anything in the first place.”“Oh, is that why you refused to answer my interrogator?” Col. Vehe asked with slanted eyes.Smiling, Arran replied, “We were just playing a little game is all - a game you initiated. No hard feelings, ok?”Towards the end of his words, Arran turned to Poltergeist and smiled in apology.Arran's actions and words were very casual - and quite frankly flippant. It was like he couldn’t recognize the position he was in or the severity of who he stood in front of. This attitude irked the colonel’s aide, who bristled with anger. He was of a mind to tell Arran off for his rudeness before his superior but the discipline instilled by the milita

Arran was sucked away into the void fissure which closed immediately after, but not before Poltergeist had managed to latch onto his thigh for whatever reason. Seeing Poltergeist clinging onto him, Arran was confused before suddenly developing the urge to retort vehemently. But he wouldn’t have that time for things were just starting to go very wrong. The space within the void fissure was just that… a literal void where nothing existed but the vast expanse of space. But the stability of this void was seriously compromised allowing for multiple fractures in space and time to open up in the surrounding void. Due to the force of the vacuum that pulled arran and Poltergeist into the void fissure, the two of them were barreling through this space uncontrollably without the ability to stabilize themselves. It was the strongest legacy left behind by the old one which could not be inherited directly. This power was only meant to be used at the critical time of the conflict with the Aeth civilization. It was Kasack’s greatest trump card one that he was reluctant to ever use. Yet at this moment, In the face of death, Kasack unleashed this power knowing full well the repercussions of his action.
