Trapp raised his hands and removed the hood covering his face. At once, Trapp's extremely handsome face was revealed to everybody there.
The whole crowd fell into stunned silence as everybody was caught off guard.
Nobody had been expecting the face hidden underneath that thick hood to be like this. In fact, what almost everybody had been expecting was an ugly face that was very rough and hard and filled with hideous pockmarks and heavy pustules.
These people couldn't be blamed for having such thoughts. When a person completely covered up their face underneath a heavy hood that prevented anybody from spying on their appearance, people would usually attribute it to them having something to hide and in most cases, it was because they were very ugly and dreaded the thought of others seeing their faces.
There was no helping it as this is how people usually thought. Even if one suspected that Trapp was very handsome under the hood, they would have dismissed it
Name: Valerian TrappOrganization: Galaxy rangersTitle: Shadow rangerRank: SpecialThe following above was what was displayed for everybody to see. It was simple and direct, but the impact it had on the whole crowd was so great that it started a great commotion in the small hall.On the virtual display, apart from the shadowy mass of darkness that represented Trapp's image, there was a large logo on it. This logo was made up of bright clusters of stars swirling together to form a nebulous galaxy. the logo was very simple and it was just a basic representation of the universe in its primal form. But as simple as the logo is, there was nobody in the entire universe who would not recognize it on sight. The logo belonged to the galaxy rangers organization. they were a true behemoth in the universe. When we say the universe, we are referring to the vast universe made up of countless realms and not the universe of any single realm. These
"Wait!" Trapp said aloud to Arran."What is it?" Arran asked."We still haven't come to a decision about what we should do with the rest of the money." Trapp reminded."Remember what I said before? That we should employ somebody using the change leftover from what you paid so that they could be of help to us. Well, I feel this idea is really good. Trust me, with an additional helper, the benefits we gain in the main area will be much greater. Right now is the time to choose from among those here before others can get to them first. It's even the best, since there is enough to employ one more person with the rest of the change.""So what do you say?" Trapp said to Arran.Arran looked at Trapp suspiciously. He didn't understand why Trapp was so adamant that they find somebody to work for them after paying for their ticket."What's the reason behind this suggestion of yours?" Arran questioned Trapp."What exactly is it that goes on in th
With the guards making a move, peace returned to the area and Arran was free to observe his target.Pointing his hand at the person of interest, Arran called out once again, "You, the one with the gray skin, you're the one I'm referring to... come up, let me get a look at you."With Arran giving a detailed description of who he was calling to this time, there was no way to misunderstand him anymore. At once, the people gathered in the direction Arran pointed to immediately cleared a way through them, thus finally revealing the hidden figure that was sandwiched between them. There was no way to mistake this person, as she was the only gray-skinned individual in the surrounding area.As soon as this person was revealed, Arran finally got a clear look at her. Arran found her face to be a bit familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere before. Trying to recall, Arran finally remembered where he had seen her face.It was when Arran had first reveal
"What is your name?" Arran asked the Heluimite girl."Sadie," she answered simply.Arran looked closely at Sadie. Her face was squarish and rough with subtle hints of delicateness in them. Her eyes shone brightly like a torch and she gave off a bold and unrestrained bearing.Knowing that Arran was observing her, Sadie did not shy away from his gaze and instead looked at his head on. She didn't have any of the cold and cruel feelings about her that Trapp described as inherent in their race.Arran's first impression of Sadie was already good. He felt that having her by his side might not be a bad idea. Still, he had to know more about her before coming to a final decision."Sadie, tell me if I were to hire you, what exactly can you do for me?""What are you good at?"Responding to Arran's question, Sadie said one single word."Fighting!"'Eh!'Arran was surprised at this answer.Looking at Sadie incredulously
Let us rewind time a bit...During the time when Arran's identity was being verified in Fort Crawford, back on the Aeth home planet, an alert signal was triggered at the same time.Just as this signal was triggered, it was immediately picked up by the relevant department. Before long, a series of predetermined strings of processes was conducted to verify the authenticity of the alert. After everything was done and it was confirmed to be a valid alert, this signal was immediately filed and sent further up the chain to be verified once more. This process was repeated a few times before, finally, it reached the desk of the council members.Currently, due to dealing with the aftermaths of the invasion of the shades and the subsequent retaliation of the Aeth, the council members were swamped with work and they were too busy to take care of matters that were not important.Of the thirteen council members, the only one with some free time on his hands was
Arran, along with Trapp, Sadie and John went into the main area of the space station after all the due processes were conducted.Due to their identities, Arran and Trapp went in through the gate on the left side while Sadie and John, who only had ordinary identities, could only go through the door in the middle. There was not much of a difference which door one entered through. Either way, they would still exist in the same place on the other side. The only significance in the different levels of doors was a matter of status and identity. Only with the corresponding level of status and identity would one be able to enjoy certain benefits in the main area.Entering through the door, there was a long narrow tunnel that connected the common area and the main area together. Inside this tunnel, there were various transport cars meant to convey passengers to the main area.In the Arran's and Trapp's tunnel, there were different kinds of single or two-man cars b
Listening to Trapp's explanation on the specialty of Fort Crawford's main area, Arran was deeply amazed by what he learned. Thinking of the mysterious wormhole that was sitting in the core of the space station, Arran was really impressed. After Trapp finished explaining things to Arran, fell into deep thought. Considering things from a certain perspective, Arran understood that Fort Crawford was figuratively speaking, sitting on top of a large gold mine, one that could constantly produce an untold amount of wealth. This wormhole that constantly spat out trash from its belly was like a goose that laid golden eggs. One may call these eggs trash since they couldn't be eaten, but then again, another person could consider it to be the most precious thing in the whole universe. Basically, the way Arran saw it, the things that came out of the wormhole were actually trash that was dumped and abandoned in the universe. There were lost technologies, unusual devices, an
"The stronger you are, the more benefits you gain... let me explain!" Trapp began."Have you ever heard of a bidding war?" Trapp asked Arran."Bidding war? Yeah, I've heard of it." Arran answered."Isn't it the process of two or more people trying to outbid each other by raising the offered bid for something until one wins?""Yes, exactly," Trapp confirmed."And so, what does this have to do with what you said before?" Arran asked in curiosity."Hear me out first... don't interrupt," Trapp said."As you said, a bidding war is the process of people trying to outbid each other. This is usually done by increasing the price of the bid offered until the highest bidder wins. But you have to understand that there are some things you can't simply put a price on.""Take, for example, a piece of knowledge of technology with strategic importance to the various nations and civilizations. This is not something that can be easily price
