Young Master Treadeu was interested in pretty much everything that was novel and new or things that were generally hard to come across. As long as it caught his eye, Young Master Treadeu would buy it without sparing the costs.

This is why he was known as the collector by those in the auction house. At some point, people had come to an understanding about Young Master Treadeu's spendthrift character so unless something was especially important to them and they had to have it at all costs, nobody would compete with Young Master Treadeu on an item in the auction house.

For this collection of iridescent law crystal ornaments, its utility was not high in the first place, and probably only somebody like Young Master Treadeu would be interested in bidding on them. That is why when he first placed his bid, everybody else had given up on the collection and nobody tried to challenge his bid.
