Joe dragged his luggage out of the mansion while Venita was away with their father. He could tell that something terrible was about to happen to them, and he was not sticking around to find out what exactly it was.
Joe felt guilty about trying to leave Venita behind, however, from what she said, he was certain that she had made up her mind.
"If you all want to kill yourselves, be my guest. I won't be here when the brimstone rains on ya," Joe muttered as he put his luggage in the trunk of his car. He had a flight that was leaving for Brussels City in the next hour.
"Fuck! My phone!" Joe rushed back into the house. He grabbed his phone and dashed out, but when he saw several policemen standing beside his car, Joe froze."Can I help you? You're making me nervous," he said to them. One of the cops stepped forward and showed Joe his badge."I'm Detective Bruce. Joe Thorn, you are under arrest for breaking into the Orient Museum and stealing an artifact," Bruce said to him and Joe chuckled nervously. "Are you fucking insane? How dare you make such an accusation against me? Do you know who I am?" He asked Bruce who sighed."Your friend, Kurt, confessed. We were able to apprehend him thanks to Lecter James, your sister's ex-husband. Now, you can come with us willingly or unwillingly. However, I advise you to pick the former. It will be less painful," Bruce threatened him.Joe thought for a moment about his next line of action as Bruce stated his rights to him and two cops approached. Just as they were about to touch him, Joe dashed toward the left fence."Get him!" Bruce yelled. The officers ran after him as Joe sprinted. He then got to the fence and started to scale it. However, Joe suddenly felt a strong hand grab him and throw him down.
He crashed with a thud and the cops pinned him down to put him in cuffs. Lecter watched as they cuffed him. And while Joe kept screaming as they took him away, Bruce walked up to Lecter."Thank you again, Lecter James. We continue like this and you may have my job soon," Bruce joked. Lecter did not give any response. Bruce could see that Lecter was furious, so, he stopped."I will see to it that Joe gets what he deserves. He won't get away " Bruce assured Lecter."Of course, he won't," Lecter replied. On that note, Lecter walked away.***"Do you know who I am? I will bury you all! I'll fucking burn this place to the ground!" Joe yelled and fought as the officers dragged him to the cell. As soon as they threw him in, he grabbed the bars."I want to speak with my sister. I can make a phone call, can't I? Let me speak with my sister!" He kept screaming. Then, a cop took him to the phone booth and he dialed Venita's number. After ringing for some time, she picked up the phone."Venita, hey, it's me. Joe. I need your help. I've been arrested," he blurted out."What the heck did you do this time, Joe?" She asked while she sighed."They know about the heist. Lecter James brought the cops to our house," he said to her."Lecter? How long ago were you arrested?""Not long," he replied."Hold on. I'm on my way. Do not say anything to them," she told him and then hung up.Venita picked up her car keys but as she was about to leave the house, Morris showed up from the corner."Where are you going?" He asked her."Joe has been arrested. I want to bail him out," she told him."You won't," was Morris' calm response. Venita frowned."I'm sorry?""Leave him there to rot for some time. We have something very important to do today and your brother cannot be a distraction. Now, go back inside and continue to make plans," he told her."Father, Lecter James has him right now. If we don't bail him out, he will go to jail, or worse!" Venita groaned."If he was careful enough, he wouldn't have been caught. Whatever it is that happens to him is his fault," he said and walked closer to her. Then, he grabbed Venita's keys from her hands. "Stay put," he commanded.
Venita wanted to do something but she didn't want to annoy Morris any further. She was wise enough to know that he had a temper. So, without arguing, she returned inside.Joe waited for hours but there was no sign of Venita. As reality dawned on him, he began to laugh in the cell. He knew they had abandoned him, and while he could not say he was surprised, it still hurt."I won't go down alone!" Joe said to himself. He then walked towards the bar and rattled it."I want to speak with Detective Bruce," he called out. In a few seconds, Bruce stood there with him, arms crossed. "What is it?" Bruce asked him. Joe thought about what he was doing. Something told him to hold back, but he was furious. No one can abandon him and go free."Arrange a meeting with Lecter James. There's something very important that I must tell him," he said to Bruce."Why don't you tell it to me? I'll make sure he gets the message," Bruce asked."No! The information that I have is for Lecter's ears only!" Joe snapped. Bruce sighed and walked away. "Hey! Does that mean you'll do it?" He yelled but Bruce did not reply."Bloody hell!" Joe yelled as he crashed into the bed. He fell asleep amidst the mixed emotions and suddenly jumped up when he heard the bars rattle from his sleep.Lecter stood there with darkness covering his face. As soon as Joe saw his frame, he quickly rushed to the bars."Lecter! Please. I'm sorry for what I did. Please, save me! Forgive me. I-I am a changed man!" Joe pleaded. However, Lecter paid no attention to the words."You have information for me, yes?" He asked Joe."Oh, yes. Um, I overheard my sister and father say that they will attack your family. I don't know how they plan on doing it exactly but I know it's close..." Joe then looked around and made sure it was safe before he whispered. "There's a spy in your mansion as we speak. They say that this same spy will carry out the operation."Lecter listened carefully to the information. But he decided to confirm its authenticity. "You're lying," Lecter said to Joe whose anger flared, but he quickly kept it under control."I have no reason to lie. I've got nothing to lose. My family has abandoned me. It's time I give them a taste of their own medicine!" He snapped. Lecter gave him a deep stare before he walked away."Hey! Lecter! You'll not send me to jail, will you?" He asked. When Lecter didn't reply, Joe shuddered."But I gave you information! I demand we make a deal!" "You should have done so before you threw away your only shot at freedom," Lecter added and then dashed out of the police station. He had to root out the spy and he needed to do it as soon as possible. But then, his phone rang. It was Alaric calling."Yes, Alaric?" Lecter said while he got into the car."Boss! Come quickly. We have a serious problem! The mansion is under attack!"It rained heavily as Lecter drove at high speed back to his mansion. Something about that night reminded him of the night when Venita and Rand betrayed him. Although Alaric told him that Morris Thorn was the one attacking the house, Lecter figured he had to cripple the man's powers on the spot.Lecter had done his research and found out that a gangster, Venom, was working with Morris. Venom provided Morris with arms, men, and weapons. Even the assassin who tried to kill Reginald was one of Venom's boys. Lecter drove faster. As soon as he got to the mansion, Lecter could see a band of armed men aiming at his father from the distance. The bodyguards with Kent James were not enough to stop the artillery that Morris had brought with him. However, things soon took a turn.Morris and everyone else present watched as Lecter parked the car and stepped down, quickly unlocking an umbrella to shield himself from the rain. The umbrella also covered the upper part of his face, making it impossible
The next day, Venita went to the station to see Joe. However, he was not so intrigued to see her."What are you doing here?" Joe asked Venita. She had requested to see him in an interrogation room and was granted access since they were siblings."Joe, I wanted to see how you were doing-""After you abandoned me, you mean?" Joe cut her off and scoffed. Venita glared at him with disdain."You brought this on yourself. How could you be so stupid? I tried to help you though but father thinks it's a wrong idea. He wants you to suffer for some time to learn a lesson," she said to him and he chuckled. "You know, Venita, I see where this is going. Right now, you feel like you are on top of the world. Daddy's girl. Promising future if you kill Lecter James and steal his wealth. But let me tell you something. If Father could knock our mother out and let me rot in jail, he will do the same to you. Leave now while you still have the chance!" Joe admonished. However, Venita smiled."I have the ch
"Are you alright, Anna?" Lecter asked Anna as she kept glaring at her ring while he drove away from the mall. Venita's unruly attitude had given her a scare. "I'm the happiest woman alive, Lecter. You saved me from that bitter woman. She already broke your heart. What else does she want with you?" Anna asked with a sigh."Don't worry, my love. I'll keep on protecting you. Do you like the ring?" He asked she smiled. "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen Lecter. It's perfect. Thank you very much for this. Becoming your wife has always been a dream of mine since the first time we met," Anna giggled. Lecter smiled at her."That means you have a wedding to plan," he added and she smiled. But just as Anna was about to say something, Lecter's phone rang. It was Alaric calling. Lecter picked up the phone."Alaric," Lecter said with his eyes still on the road. "Boss, can you make it to Mr Reginald's house right away?" He asked."What for? I just proposed to Anna. I'm taking her on a
Lecter was curious to know what the police had found on the crime scene. He was one hundreds percent certain that someone was messing with him at that point. But who was it, Lecter wondered. As his anger fumed, Lecter thought about the things that he would do to the person who dared try to frame him for murder. "I will not be mercify!" Lecter fumed. He drove to the police station and then parked his car on the car park. Then, Lecter stepped down, and walked into the police station. He looked around for detective Bruce until he saw him going over some paperwork.Lecter walked up to him."What's going on?" Lecter asked Bruce without a smile on his face. Detective Bruce smiled, however, Lecter was not in the mood for such gesture."Let's talk in my office, please?" He asked and then led Lecter to a fairly small office with lots of paperwork scattered everywhere. As soon as they settled into their seats, Bruce sighed. He took out a little notebook and a pen, and then gazed at Lecter."Re
"And how do you know it's Lecter himself? It could have been a coincidence, or perhaps a resemblance," Billy, Rand's friend said to him as they enjoyed wine. Since Lecter fired Rand, all he did was drink and smoke till he passed out. Venita barely came around to see him and he was too preoccupied with his habits to notice her absence."I was friends with Lecter for many years. I know it was him. He's the heir to Kent James empire. But I just can't prove it. When was the last time you heard about Lecter?" Rand asked Billy who sighed."Well, never. He and I were never close. Do you remember what he always said about me?" Billy scoffed."He said that you were an opportunist and that you are not someone to be trusted," Rand responded. "Like the fucker knew me!" A furious Billy drank more wine. Rand then thought for some time before he turned to Billy."Why don't we spy on him? Lecter James. If we want to confirm that he is not indeed Lecter Durant, then we can tail him. What do you say?
"I know that look on your face. Something's wrong," Anna said to Lecter as he stepped back into the restaurant. As the place buzzed with people while they thanked their anonymous benefactor, Lecter helped Anna stand."I have to take you to safety. Come with me," he told her. Anna did not object. She just stood up and then followed Lecter outside. As soon as they got outside, Lecter opened the door for Anna to get into the car. While he did so, Lecter observed that a black SUV which had been parked by the side of the street since his discussion with Dylan was still there.Lecter then took out his phone and texted Alaric who was closeby. As Lecter drove off, the SUV wanted to follow, but Alaric blocked the car with his'. Alaric stepped down and approached the driver's seat. He knocked on the window and Billy rolled down the glass."Are you following my boss?" Alaric asked Billy with no chill in his tone. Billy scoffed."What are you talking about? You must have me confused with someone
"Where are you taking me? Where's Lecter?" Anna questioned Dylan while they trudged toward a motel. She had doubts because the place was secluded, and somehow lower than what Lecter would take her to should he want to surprise her."You shall meet with him soon, ma'am. Please, follow me," Dylan told her. Anna sighed and followed. There were some passerby who walked past them, and since she wasn't being coerced, no one said anything.Dylan led Anna to a room. She looked around the secluded place once again and wanted to turn back. But she wanted to know what this surprise was all about still. However, Anna decided to call it off. It was too spooky for her to deal with."That's it. I'm leaving," she said to Dylan, but then he opened the door and she saw a very romantically arranged room with roses, flowers, cakes, wine and sweets.Anna froze. She gazed at the room while a soft music played somewhere inside. Then she exchanged glances with Dylan who smiled all the way."He wanted to do
Chapter 15 The room went silent as Lecter stepped inside; the sight of him exuded power that only he possessed, and everyone else respected him even though some didn’t want him In the position he held. “I gathered y’all here to discuss the replacement of Reginald Heath.” Lecter started, “I know it came as a shock of his demise, and the sooner than letter, we move on and discuss what to do with this shares and how to find a replacement to take over his place.” Lecter explained while everyone sat back and relaxed, intensely looking at him. “But isn’t it too soon to find a replacement?” One of the shareholders said. “Should we sit back and mourn for longer days and let our businesses slacks?” Another shareholder countered the other person. Everyone started to speak at once. “Silence,” Lecter said, his voice merely above a whisper, and everyone’s voice quieted. “I didn’t call a meeting for all of you to bicker with one another,” he kissed his teeth, “shall we proceed to what’s impor
