Andrew stared at the system panel before him in excitement.
It was time to get his rewards.
[Host has taken down one of his money.]
[Achievement unlocked.]
[Achievement: Mass spender.]
[Mass spender: A billion dollars spent in a day.]
[Reward: A hundred million dollars.]
Andrew heard a ding from the phone in his pocket.
"This is real!" He said in a loud voice.
His bank had sent another alert to him.
Before he could celebrate, another panel appeared in front of him.
[Achievement unlocked.]
[Achievement: Golden Speedster.]
[Golden Speedster: Host used less than twenty-four hours for a daily goal.]
[Reward: A hundred million dollars.]
A notification sound from his phone echoed through the office, and Andrew didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
[Achievement unlocked.]
[Achievement: Fast Achiever.]
[Fast Achiever: Earned more than one achievement in a day.]
[Reward: Three hundred million dollars.]
"This is too much."
Andrew laughed out loud. He never imagined he would have so much in one day.
[Quest rewards configured.]
[Unlocking a new skill.]
[Skill unlocked: Income multiplier X5]
[Skill description: Using this skill allows you to increase your income five times. The skill will upgrade, leading to an increase in the multiplier value.]
"So I can use it to multiply any income I gain?" Andrew muttered.
[Affirmative.]
A monotone voice answered his question.
Andrew paced around. He wanted to test out the skill he had just obtained.
"Can I multiply the rewards earned from my achievements?" Andrew suddenly asked.
[No.]
[Host can only use Income multiplier skill on income or profit gained by the host's intelligence and hard work.]
"Don't call me host. I have a name." Andrew said.
There was a pause from the system, and a wave of anxiety passed through Andrew as he waited for the following statement.
[Ok.]
[Would you like me to call you Mr. Raine or Andrew?]
"Andrew. Let's stick with that." Andrew said with a smile on his face.
With the system calling him host every time, he couldn't help but feel stiff whenever he heard that monotone voice.
"How can I make my income?" Andrew asked himself, pondering over what the system had told him.
Then, an idea appeared in his mind; following his newfound plan, Andrew brought out his phone from his pocket.
"Hello. Am I speaking to the manager of Cunningham's Hotel?" Andrew asked when he heard the connection from the other end of the line.
"Yes, you are. Who is this, please?" The receiver spoke in a questioning tone.
"Andrew." A name from Andrew was enough for the manager to remember the event surrounding this name.
"Mr. Raine. Please, how may I help you?" The manager, Mr. Terry, stuttered in surprise.
Andrew kept quiet for a while before he answered the question.
"I want to expand the Hotel. I want to add some new buildings." Andrew smiled when he told Mr. Terry his plans.
Mr. Terry couldn't stop his mouth widening at the other end of the call, but he quickly spoke.
"What do you intend to do, Mr. Raine?" The manager said after calming himself.
"I want to build a spa and a restaurant. Can you work with that?" Andrew smiled as he relayed his thoughts to the manager.
"I understand why we need a restaurant, but why do we need a spa?" Terry couldn't help but ask. The restaurant could help bring more customers, but why was the spa needed?
"Don't worry, Mr. Terry, that's for me to take care of. With time, you'll understand." Andrew said in a cryptic tone.
Mr. Terry couldn't fathom what was going on in the mind of this wealthy billionaire that he wanted to waste such an amount of money.
"Ok. Sir, so what… " Terry's sentence was interrupted by a cough from Andrew.
"Just call me Andrew. We are partners." Andrew voiced out in a soft tone.
He wasn't used to people addressing him with such words.
"But… okay, I'll call you Andrew." Terry couldn't see himself calling such a top man by his name, but he would get used to it.
"When should I start the hotel development?" Terry said into the phone.
"Immediately." Andrew's voice resounded in the call's background, and the line went dead.
Terry stared at the phone in his hand for a while. What did he mean immediately?
He didn't have the money to start building a spa immediately. He was about to call Andrew back and ask for an amount when he heard a notification sound that interrupted his thoughts.
'Bank Credit Alert.'
'Received fifty million naira from Mr. Andrew Raine.'
Terry nearly went into a coughing fit when he saw the bank alert.
"This man is a money god." He exclaimed, a smile spread across his face.
Andrew had sent the money because he didn't know how much it would cost to build the buildings he had in mind.
Adding a spa and restaurant to such a big hotel would probably be a lot.
Andrew looked at his phone before deciding to message Mr. Terry.
"If there is any leftover money, you can keep it. Thank you for being so cooperative."
Andrew knew it was best to build trust with those he worked with to avoid any betrayal.
Meanwhile, Terry, on the other side of the phone, saw the message, and he almost bled from his nose in shock.
The leftover money would amount to probably twenty million dollars.
He decided that he would inform Andrew of the money that remained, and maybe then, he would change his mind.
Andrew went behind his desk, sat on the soft chair, and pressed a button before speaking.
"Shelby. Prepare contract documents for a spa. I need a new spa to announce to the public, which would help promote our market."
Andrew spoke with a tone of authority.
"Yes, Sir." Shelby stuttered.
As she prepared the contract, she couldn't help but wonder where her boss had found a spa in such a short amount of time.
He was efficient and handsome, too.
Andrew was about to end the call when he remembered something.
"Hello, Shelby?" He asked to check if she was still listening
"Sir?" Shelby muttered a reply.
"I want you to announce to the public that the Comsor Terrain company has declared a new spa to advertise their services." Andrew smiled into the phone as he spoke. However, he wasn't done.
"Inform the public that there is a sixty percent discount for the first five hundred people that book
a session in the new spa location at the Cunningham's Hotel," Andrew concluded with a sigh.
Having such control was starting to tire, but he would enjoy every bit of it.
"Noted, Sir. Whose name should I put it in?" Shelby's smooth voice sounded from the other end of the phone.
Andrew thought about the question for a while. It wouldn't be best to let anyone know about his identity for now, especially the Winters.
"Publish under the name Mr. A," Andrew said when he finally decided.
It would be better to appear under a hidden name.
"Okay, Sir, I'll get right to it."
Shelby said, and the line disconnected.
It was time for Andrew to relax and watch his plan play out.
Three days later, the news about the spa built by the Comsor Terrain cosmetics company spread throughout the city.
The internet wasn't excluded as everyone tweeted about the opening of a spa in Cunningham Hotel.
"I can't believe there will be a spa in that hotel. It doesn't even have many customers." An influencer posted on his profile.
"Who cares about that? It's sixty percent off. That's a lot of free time." Someone commented under his post.
The discount spiked everyone's interest as they wondered what kind of crazy CEO would reduce his profit in such a low manner.
However, who didn't like free stuff?
The Cunningham hotel was packed with customers; they rushed in to check out the new spa, and Terry was finding it hard to keep them under control.
He had expected that the boss would only announce it when they were done building, but the crowd didn't want to hear anything.
Some of them even booked for after the building was completed.
No one wanted to sleep on the offer as it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Shelby sauntered into Andrew's office, holding a file in her hands.
"Good morning, Sir. We have a problem, and the customers are angry about the slow completion of the spa building."
Andrew sat in his seat, a corner of his lips lifting.
It was just like he had planned.
"Increase the discount percentage." He said in a breath.
The air in the office became still, and a frown appeared on Shelby's face.
"But, Sir, no profit would be left for us."
She uttered, trying to appease Andrew into changing his mind, but he was adamant.
"Increase the discount percentage to ninety percent." Andrew's smile grew wider as he swiveled in his chair.
Shelby's jaw fell open. His words were outrageous.
She felt her new boss was an amateur in the business world, but what he just said proved the thought right.
"Sir, I'd advise against taking such a decision because it would reduce the market flow of the company." Shelby gave an argument.
Andrew raised his eyes in a glaring look, and his mouth opened.
"When you have the company in your name, you can do what you want with it. Now get on with the advert placement."
Shelby turned around immediately, her heels clicking on the floor as she silently fumed.
She couldn't wait for everything to blow up in his face.
Andrew, on the other hand, couldn't wait for the looks on the Winters' face.
Inside the mansion of the Winters was a heavy silence which enveloped the hearts of everyone in the wide parlor room as they faced the flat-screened television. "I can't believe this." Karen said with a fallen look on her face depicting the sadness she felt from within. Her mother, Carmela, was sitting with her, and her brother stood at the other end of the room. He had a mug of coffee in his hand, with a frown across his face, and his eyes on the television. They had turned to a news station because Carmela had heard gossip from the women at her elderly gathering about a new spa that would be opened soon."Owner of the top earning company in the city, Comsor Terrain, Mr. A, has decided to increase the discount of the new spa at the Cunningham Hotel to a staggering ninety percent for the first five hundred." The newscaster said with a shocked look on her face, followed by a smile of interest. She couldn't believe that such an offer could actually exist."I can't compete with this."
"I'm still scared." Karen whispered, her heart was beating frantically. James turned towards her and flashed her a small smile, doing everything to take away her fears. "You don't have to be. I heavily doubt it's him. It will never be him." The silence was so deafening that you could hear a pin drop. Everyone watched with bated breath as the figure approached the doorway. Nobody had the faintest idea who it was gonna be. Karen had her heart in her hand despite the fact that James was doing everything to calm her down and ask her not to worry. She felt a foreboding that something was very wrong, and she was rarely wrong when she felt like that. Now it was happening again, in a time she wished it wouldn't. That's when the figure came into view, revealing Andrew. He was dressed in a tuxedo, and glasses. He exuded an air of confidence that commanded the focus of everyone who was present. He was given a standing ovation as he held out his hands for the two beautiful women. They interl
The ball party was gradually drawing to a close but for him, the night was just the beginning. He had a lot of things that he needed to take care of. With Karen gone and disgraced, the rest of the evening was mainly filled with murmurs about what had happened. News stations all over the city were already displaying the events that had taken place tonight. It no longer hurt him that he had done that to her, because he knew she deserved every bit of it. Not long after, the guests began to disperse and the events of the evening gradually faded into the background. Andrew retired at his mansion that night, but he spent most of it awake as he thought about his plans for the future, which was to start the next day. He had already instructed some of his men about the unveiling which was to take place the next day and preparations were already in progress. He slept with a smile that night. The next morning, he didn't waste any time before announcing the opening of his new spa. He had invite
The urgency in her voice was very high as she relayed the details to him. "There is a meeting that you must absolutely attend. You've been reached out to and I highly suggest you attend." Andrew didn't like the urgency and seriousness in her voice. He didn't want her acting all serious and changing the perspective he had wanted to face the day with. He glanced up from his desk and looked at the clock, wondering if it was one of those impromptu meetings. But it was late now, and there was no way he was leaving his apartment for any meeting. "What kind of meeting?"She sighed before replying. "It's the Assembly of CEOs. They have extended an invitation to you to join as one of the top rising CEOs. Your fame hasn't gone unnoticed. And from the way this information was stated, I think they want you urgently. A date has been set already. Their next meeting will be coming up in a few days. An exclusive card that will get you access to the venue has also been sent and will be handed over
Of course Andrew wasn't allowed to go scot-free after walking out on the council. It was a very shocking behaviour, one that was rarely seen among new business owners in the area. The chairman was no doubt shocked as well, but let it slide for the day. They gathered in the meeting room the next day to discuss what he had done and what the solution to his defiance was going to be. Of course the solution wasn't always going to be a good one, but nobody really cared. As long as everyone wasn't getting hurt or losses with his strategic implementation in business, then everyone was OK. The atmosphere in the room was very different compared to what it had looked like the day before. On this particular day, the silence in the room felt so thick and everyone who was present was ready to say everything they thought would be suitable to deal with the situation. It was very important, and they took it as such. "We are back here to address the Andrew situation." The chairman declared as he sto
Andrew saw the confrontation from the Assembly as an opportunity to let let know what he was really capable of doing. If there was one thing he had learnt after acquiring his system, it was bowing to no one because the moment you did, that would be the moment you would be treated like some piece of trash. It was time to take the hotel forward and give it everything he had given to his Spa which was still booming with customers with each passing day. It was still attracting a lot of customers worldwide since he had appointed world-class workers there. "Today is the day," he declared to himself as he walked through the front door of the ongoing construction. His team of engineers were already waiting for him inside and he was about to give them some last-minute ideas of what he wanted about the Spa, hoping that they would be able to fit them into the current plan. One of those was another Spa, a couple restaurants that would be annexed to the main building and also a shopping mall. A
Andrew was in his office, reviewing the latest financial reports when the familiar icons popped up, buzzing with an incoming notification. He clicked on the message. It was from Shelby. He opened the message with a quick swipe and was happy to find out that his investment had paid off handsomely- he had earned an eighty percent return on the shares he had purchased. He couldn't repress the chuckle that left his throat after getting the information."This is incredible!" He exclaimed. He was unable to contain his excitement and replied Shelby with a quick"Thank you." He was still ecstatic when his system popped up.[ Congratulations, master Andrew. Your investment has yielded significant returns as expected.] He grinned at the familiar robotic baritone."Amazing, isn't it?" He replied, imagining the things he could do with the profits he had just earned. He could further develop and expand his empire with it. His system continued, as indifferent as ever.[You have achieved your first
He spent a lot of time that night in his room, pondering over the accusations that Karen had made against him. He felt so betrayed and so angry even though the ties between them had been severed. He thought about a lot of things, such as addressing the issue head on and announcing that he had no part in what was going on and that Karen was merely chasing clout by accusing him of things he never did even when she was the one who initiated the divorce papers in the first place. How could she slander his name in such a manner, he thought, feeling his heart twist with so much pain. And to claim that he had a child with her- it was preposterous! Absolutely disgusting!! As far as he knew, he never saw any child and never saw her pregnant to begin with. It was all so strange and too much for him to handle, he knew he had to start somewhere. "I never even knew she had a child with me." He muttered to himself in utter confusion while staring into the distant void. "And she certainly never a
