CHAPTER FIFTY

After Carter's lowrider turned on its engine and drove off with Eleanor inside, Logan finally emerged from his hiding place. He let out a sigh of relief but also a sense of disappointment, as he had initially intended to head back home. As he was about to take his leave, he heard Eleanor's mother call out to him.

Logan turned, startled by her addressing him by his name. She stood there, her gaze fixed on the spot where Carter's vehicle had just been parked. She muttered her daughter's name and paused making Logan wonder what this was about.
