Logan anxiously awaited Carter's confirmation, his heart pounding with the fear of betrayal. Moments later, the phone buzzed, and Carter's gruff voice came through. "Job done, Logan. Where's my remaining payment?"

Relief washed over Logan, but he maintained composure. "I'll get you the rest when I confirm the job is done, Carter."

Carter's voice grew louder, a threatening edge emerging, "You better pay up, Logan, or I swear—"

Logan cut him off, ending the call abruptly. He chuckled to himself, not picking up Carter's numerous subsequent calls. The truth was, he needed to ensure Carter had indeed completed the job and not swindled him.

Restless, Logan spent the night tossing and turning. He couldn't shake the anxiety that accompanied his alliance with Carter. Not being able to sleep, he turned on the TV, only to be met with breaking news about a fire at the Eclipse Hotel. Panic surged through him instantly as he feared the worst. Did Carter fail to switch the room labels?
