Sector twenty one, the Verta clan’s mothership. Lilia.“Damn it!” Brayan cursed by my side, his expression twisting with anger.“This doesn’t look good…” Erika said in a whisper, her eyes shifting toward me.We were hiding behind a corner as a number of Herara shot at us from down the hallway. It was quite the bothersome situation; we’re outnumbered five to one, which normally wouldn’t have been a problem, but since we didn’t have our weapons it’s much more difficult to advance. I couldn’t just charge at them without my spear. As the storm of bullets flashed through the hallway I began to lose faith in my choice. When it was time to split up it was decided that I would accompany Brayan and Erika to the ship while Logan would go look for our weapons and something else we could use to support Seven. There are two reasons behind us choosing this course of action. The first is that Logan wanted me to check on Blue to make sure she is fine. The second reason is Erika’s condition. With the
Sector twenty one. The Verta clan’s mothership. “It is very nice to make your acquaintance, honorable Zesionien warriors.” Standing at the entrance was a female Herara of a small stature. The first thing that caught Lilia’s eyes was the snow white hair flowing behind her, then the tail that seemed much fuzzier than that of the only other female Herara she had met so far. Her eyes had a silver color that gleamed with intelligence and wisdom. Her skin was pale, almost translucent with a hint of pink on her cheeks. The female Herara walked into the room and the door closed behind her. Her eyes shifted from Brayan to Erika then to Lilia, a small smile drawn on her lips all the while.“You seem to be in such a dire situation.” She said.Lilia pointed her gun, but the female Herara didn’t even flinch. That told them she wasn’t just some delicate civilian who’s sheltered from danger.“What do you want?” Lilia asked. “Is that how you show appreciation to the ones who help you?” The female
“It’s safe.” The white haired Herara motioned for Lilia to move.Though they didn’t have to worry about the guards in these parts of the mothership, they still had to be careful of being spotted by the civilians. Orchid had given Lilia a cloak to cover herself just in case, however the stench of the blood covering her was basically a brush that painted a trail behind them. No matter how careful they were it was only a matter of time before someone notices.Thankfully the female Herara, Orchid Snowhite, already had a plan to deal with that problem.Once they arrived at what looked like a dead end, Orchid kneeled down in front of a discolored part of the floor. She took out what looked like a small knife and stabbed it at the edge of the circular spot. The next moment a hole opened and a cylindrical shaped object came out and began wondering around.“It’s a bit cramped but you don’t have to worry.” Orchid said before jumping into the hole. “We won’t stay in for too long.”The two crawle
A couple of minutes later Orchid returned. The soldiers looking for Lilia and the others had anticipated that they’d try to reach the docks and positioned themselves there, however the white Herara was able to convince them to go away somehow. The two had only a few minutes before the guards return and Erika was running out of time so they had to work quickly and get back to her."Blue!! Where are you?" Lilia called once they were inside the ship. "Blue~! It’s me, Lilia! Where are you~!"Lilia walked through the ship calling for the little female Herara, but no answer came. It was dark, the only source of illumination were the small lamps above each door but they weren’t of much help. The reason behind that was the place the ship was left in. That part of the docks is usually reserved for captured crafts, to prevent any escape beyond this point it was built like a trap that completely shuts down the systems of the ships docked there. The way to regain control was something Lilia had
"Eh?" Lilia couldn't help being surprised. “A ghost… you say?""Un…" Blue nodded once, her eyes cast down. She just told another person that she saw a ghost, something hard to believe when an adult says it let alone when a child does. Blue was a smart child so she understood why others might not believe her and because of that she chose to keep it a secret until now."This… ghost, what does it look like?" Whether she believed her or not wasn't what's important, that's what Lilia though. She wanted Blue to feel like she could trust her, that’s why listening to what she has to say was the right course of action. Blue's eyes opened wide, her little cheeks flushed with joy."Un! She is a little short, has blue hair, and wears a white dress.”She?... Lilia paused to think. Is this ghost… female? She suddenly felt an ache in her heart, her anxiousness rising a bit."A little short, has blue hair and wears a white dress…" Lilia mumbled to herself A ghost with those descriptions… could it b
Sector twenty one, the Verta clan’s, Seven. It might have been that rumored effect where you start seeing things in slow motion when your death is near. My thoughts suddenly accelerated as I watched the tiger faced alien charge at me.I was about to give up. As much as I hated to admit it, it was more like me to just give up. After all I'm not some space fighter chasing orange balls to revive my dead friends. I'm just a below average shut in who makes his eyes suffer by staring at a screen for days rather than hours, no matter how much I try roleplaying as this strong fearsome hero who doesn't flinch when fighting aliens, there is a limit I'm going to eventually reach.I mean, I did some pretty amazing things, right? I went toe to toe with the leader of some space pirate cult that worships a mythical monster who I also just happen to have survived an encounter with, can't I give it a rest already? I’ve already used most of my reserves and no matter what I do I will eventually lose. T
Sector ???"Hey, are you awake yet?"Let me be, I still want to…"Now now, you already slept long enough. It’s about time you get up."Fine, just a little more…"Okay, then. I just wanted to say goodbye.”Whatever…. Wait, what do you mean goodbye?"I mean you lost our little challenge~"Wait… hold on! Isn't it too early? I need more time!"Hir, you had more than enough."But!..."The next in line already took her place."The next in line? But you are-"Fading… listen, Hir, I… I already told you I’m not supposed to be here, this was going to happen one day.” But… Vee… I… I still!..."Hir, I'm sorry you had to suffer because of me."No… not like this… it's too sudden… you can’t! I still… I still…"Hir… thank you… for everything… farewell"~◇~Sector twenty one, the Verta clan’s mothership. The red light swirled around one point, slowly reducing in size before vanishing. Dust and smoke settled down as Lilia, Logan and Hir had their eyes fixed on the crater formed by the blast from the
The Verta clan's mothership was a fairly large craft to be owned by a group of outlaws. It boasted of strong defenses and high offensive power, hosted thousands of soldiers and their families, and offered a safe place for all members to get some rest, even those who travel away for work. The arena on the highest floor is part of the recreational facilities built to provide some stress relief for the resident clan members. Tournaments are held occasionally and most disagreements are solved through duels in this place. However, those tournaments and duels were always between the members, sometimes between newcomers as a way to decide ranks. Never did anyone expect the clan head himself to visit it for a purpose other than having his followers entertain him.No one expected the duel he proposed to the human prisoner to escalate to such level. Every single Herara in the entire fleet believed the head would make short work of his opponent, but the human stood his ground, he even got the u
